I don't think bitcoin will be replace by another altcoin as many times bitcoin has proven to has no competitors. Most of the altcoins developers told us time without number that they systems were built on new ideas and information and the coin was developed to replace bitcoin but most of them has no significant value like bitcoin!

Since I am not citizens of united states of American I don't bother myself with any laws that sec make. If you are not an American also focus on your new project but if you are usa citizen then wait for their laws to be out before you venture into you ICO.

Some altcoins will be far more better to invest in than bitcoin because of the high return that may come out of it. Bitcoin may not be able to give you 100% return before the end of this year but altcoins and some coins that are at the ico levels can give you that. Though bitcoin has it advantage I rather stay with altcoins for profit purpose. Never depend on a single currency but expand your portfolio to others coins.

Bitcoin has no competitors not even zcash talk more of ethereum which price has dropped drastically this month. $1700 as a weak leg to buy bitcoin I doubt that bitcoin will get back to that level. The weakest point now base on technical indicators is $2000 and if that circle is break as at now then expect the price to fell to $1,500 and even $1000! August first is here staring at us time shall tell.

I think you said this for scammers ICO and not the major altcoins we are seeing today that have give over 1000% returns to those who invest in those coin during ICO. Some coins we see there promote on this forum like strats, wave, lisk and Zcash has given the investors over a thousand percent return. Though op have a great point and he has make great statement  and exposed scamming activities on this forum.

litecoin currently is undervalued and because of this I am speculating that the price will be above $200 in 2018.  though currently litecoin is doing well by trading a little above what it was some months ago.  from coinmarketcap it is above $43 and this is a sign that it will soon increase in value.

Like many people have said here bitcoin is not dead no matter what happens to it.  Bitcoin has value that makes trader to identify with it.  Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency has past through slot of limitations and hardworking issues but out of it bitcoin come out stronger. Bitcoin is not death but very much alive.

I will not pray split should happen but if it happens I think the coin with higher miner will get the high support. I believe what happened with ethereum and etheruem classic will happen again. BTc and Bcc, I think NYC will get the high price and BBC is going to face the same Dance of ethereum classic
