I could see them doing well if 350 or less.
That's pretty much my sweet spot. Under $350 shipped is an insta-buy. There is an argument that 2 of them are as good as a 1080ti. I just sold the only 2 I ever had of them I am pretty much all nvida at the moment.

Is this the worst drought in GPU inventory? I remember in July 2017 it was pretty bad but I feel that this has gone on longer and there is still no end in sight. I bought some GPU's in December and got them all piecemeal as the inventory was beginning to dwindle. I was planning on putting another rig together in Q1 2018 and have followed the stock but it seems there hasn't been an entry point. Is this the worst drought in GPU availability?
It took patience to get all my components but I have everything but the GPU's for my next build. I even put my open air case together yesterday! It looks like I won't be putting it to use anytime soon, lol.
Yeah it is bad. What gpus will you want nvidia or amd? I have sold all my: 1070's 1070 ti's 1080's all at low markups Like a 400usd 1070 for 450usd -------- small profit but mined for a few months so good profit. I don't gouge as profit is profit. And I will be re-structing the solar array. At the moment I have only 1080tis left. and a rx 560 power color amd 4gb card I'm looking for Nvidia cards. Preferably 1070 ti's as I want to be the most energy efficient as possible. How much are you selling the 1080tis for? I need to inventory the array Tuesday I have two Msi aero 1080ti I have one asus turbo 1080ti I have one zotac mini 1080ti I have two more have to check what they are That is a total of six. I sell them all at about 775 each free shipping to the USA . Some price flex not much. Maybe 750 a card It is a small mark up not insane like most others sell them. All are gently used 70% tdp is my normal setting That is a good deal. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Works for me and the buyers. I mine them two- four months. Make some money and buyer gets a well cared for card.

https://imgur.com/T4wrnZQHas anyone seen this issue or have experienced something similar? The power usage for random cards on the rig will drop drastically at random times. Hashrate doesn't seem to be affected, so I really haven't done any physical troubleshooting yet, like switching power supplies etc. This rig has 5x1070ti on a Corsair 1000t PSU and 2x1080TI on a 1500T Corsair. It will happens to GPUs running on either of the PSUs. I have a couple other rigs that run EVGA PSUs and have not seen this happen, so i'm wondering if this is something related to Corsair? No it has nothing to do with your psus. Also do yourself a favor and drop the 1080tis to 200 for the 215 one and to 210 for the 230 one

I know some of you don't like the hassle of the AMD GPUs... But I must say my two rigs of RX 570's are still going strong today, mining ETH+Blake2s and have earned their cost many times over since April.
Now that stock is back in those GPUs (albeit at a higher price), I was wondering if it would be a good idea to build a couple more rigs... or if the reliance on ETH (and the risk of it going PoS) is getting too hot to handle...
At around $350, those GPUs are still a lot of bang for the buck compared to anything nVidia currently. Sure, one would have to flash the vbios, but today, these low-timing vbioses are widely available and support for multi-GPU is a lot better than it was early last year. It would be a formality to set up.
I could see them doing well if 350 or less.

If threads like this are required, doesn’t that mean that the merit system is kinda broken?
I don’t mean that the merit system is bad, it’s good in the sense that it encourages useleful posts. But the merit sources seems to be a little too strict as to the criteria in which merits are given.
Your thoughts?
The old system had flaws . Post a few times a week and make rank. Have multiple accounts create a few threads and in a year. Of posting to yourself and your alts you can have three or four good looking accounts. In two years you would have hero accounts. In three or four years you have legendary accounts . You then can do some nice rip offs. Yeah it would be long but if done correctly a lot could be stolen. I escrow . I have a legendary account I have escrowed 50k in usd. I think there is a fear of someone doing a long con with the old system. All the senior guys now have a long delay to be a hero so maybe they will be stopped from scamming. If 1 in 20 seniors are looking to reach hero to scam they will be slowed a lot.

Hello there!
So I recently added a 2nd PSU to my rig in order to be able to add an additional video card.
After any reboot, I literally have to scan for new hardware in order for additional card to show up. Is there anyway to make this auto detect or force scan new hardware after a reboot?
My hardware specs are:
Asus Prim Z270-P Motherboard Celeron CPU 16GB RAM 2540GB SSD 1500 Thermaltake PSU with (4) EVGA 1080tis on it 750W Thermaltake PSU with (1) EVGA 1080tis on it (1) PSU Jumper cable connecting both PSU to the Motherboard
Everything is stable about the rig *except* for auto detect of the 5th video card.
I just want to avoid having to manually scan for HW to bring up the 5th card...
Thank you in advance!
Sooo many questions. First windows 10 for os? Second what are your tdp settings for the gpus?

hi every one! i am new in mining and want to buy a good hardware for mining any kind of digital currencies. now i have a problem to choose hardware for mining. choose gpu or ... . please guide me! in my country the price of electricity for industrial usage is about 0! so the power usage of the hardware for mining is not important for me! . now the question is what is the best hardware for mining , considering that my fund at begining is 2000 dollars and can be alittle more if required! . using gpu is better or some instruments like antminer s9 or s7 ...? .
at the begining i don't need optimum profitability, it is more important to do not lose the fund because of low experience, and choosing a good hardware which can sell again to others should be considered if required even though is not my first concern! . and the other important quest is the range and number of different currencies which this hardware can mine! . . i have a 3.2 ghz 4 quad cpu with 4 gb of ram DDR3. and 2mbps internet connection. . . thanks a lot!
you want both in the long run. but for now I would do gpu which means you should look at the alt coin section. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0your internet speed is fast enough. internet up time without disconnects = very important

Out of PMs. I’m interested in them. What ram? I’m kinda picky. Price with and without the Ram? PM back works for me. I have a good line on GPUs, but if you can supply those as well, let me know. Thanks
Samsung And only sell with the ram.

Gonna be finally powering on my D8P tonight. Im testing an over-the-counter available in stock sodimm module. It is supposedly rated for 1.2V, so I dont expect problems with it; but then again, people have said the D8P can be picky. Ill post results late tonight when I leave my parents house for home. https://imgur.com/a/PWc98Good luck

Besides the rise in price is also the corresponding rise in difficulty. When I started this pool in 2015 you had a pretty decent shot of hitting a block or even two by renting 1PH. The very first block I found was with a rental like that. Now, a 1PH rental has a very slim chance of finding a block. Of course, the difficulty when I started was 65,848,255,179. A bit different than what it is now ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) it is why I used the 1btc example if I rent 1btc at close to the fair price 1/13 or 1/12.5 is my math or percentage chance of a block problem for me is 10,400 is simply not doable.. 1 btc at nicehash would get a lot of hash now .0812 btc is 1 ph for a day but your chance of a block is around .0812/125 or 153 to 1 at 10000 a coin .0812 btc = 812 usd a lot to lose if you miss. at 500 a coin .0812 btc = 40.60 usd not too bad I need my bigger rentals last spring when coins was going over 2000 I realized the only way I could lose out was a cold streak with the rentals . So I stopped them .. At the moment I have 30 gpus mining here is one gpu of my 30 https://www.nicehash.com/miner/3QPFEdX8rtXHoVZHct5eUbp7AK1t1vRMfLin 2 weeks time I will earn enough to do a rental here. and I will if it misses I will lose 55 usd

I'm up to 15 GPU rigs and 2 S9's.
I started out using nvOC, but the lack of central management really started bothering me once I got past 10 rigs.
So I got Awesome Miner and played with it for a while and purchased a license good for 20 miners. At first I kept the rigs themselves on nvOC (Ubuntu) and then configured each miner in Awesome Miner as an external miner. In this mode, Awesome Miner can only monitor the rigs and not actually change coins, or OC settings or anything like that.
Next I started to convert my rigs over to Windows, which meant getting more powerful CPU's and larger SSD's for some of my rigs. It was a pain, but once done, I now had full control over all the rigs and could switch pools/coins with a couple of clicks across some or all miners. The dashboards are very nice looking and I'm able to apply OC setting on a large scale. I also like that Awesome Miner can manage my S9's. Granted I only have 2 of those and they pretty much mind their own business, but having all my profit generating devices in a single dashboard is kinda cool. I also have some servers with powerful 14 core CPU's that produce a decent return on Cryptonight. I can manage those within Awesome Miner as well.
Then a couple of days ago I decided to upgrade nvidia video drivers on all the rigs and what a royal pain that was across 15 windows boxes. Some of them didn't take and I had to haul a monitor around to connect to them to see what was going on. This was the case on my Onda and Colorful boards, and one of my Asus PRIME Z270A boards too (this particular one had 9 1080Ti's on it).
So I decided to check out SMOS, and I'm impressed with it so far. It is a lot more limited in functionality compared to Awesome Miner, but the fact that the actual rigs are running Ubuntu over windows is a huge plus. I don't like that the only control option is via the cloud dashboard. I wish there was an option to run it on a local server. I can VPN into my network from anywhere if need be. The SMOS dashboard is no where near as comprehensive as what you can do in Awesome Miner, but it covers the basics.
To me the perfect system would be a feature rich front end like Awesome Miner, with linux based backend GPU rigs.
Next time I go on vacation, all my rigs will be on SMOS, that's for sure. To switch I just pull the Windows SSD, insert SMOS USB, switch mobo to use internal graphics, and off I go. Going back to windows is a simple matter of reversing the process.
I have more then one rig in my home that can do just that. And I set the omen gamer pc's up with smos and this usb stick https://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-32GB-USB-3-0-FIT-Flash-Drive/46802252?it is small and I don't worry about breaking it off accidentaly

What do you guys think of Awesome miner for a farm of 15 rigs with 96 GPUs total? Linux is not an option for various reasons that are unique to us, so all systems are Windows based. Based on what I can see Awesome miner looks like it would be very handy for us and it appears to be fairly newbie friendly (important since the person that checks things the most is not very technically experienced with troubleshooting hardware/software).
I paid for a license just no time to really work with it. It does seem to be able to do what you need.

The fans of the miner are spinning but it doesn't light up any of the LED lights nor Ethernet lights. Cant even connect to it through IP. I tried to flash the firmware but doesn't work.
Does anyone know the solution?
go back in time and ask this question before you flashed the firmware. Flashing firmware before asking for help is not the way to go. But Tell you what I live in New Jersey If you are in the USA and want to send it to me I have several controllers could try for you.
