How does the Revlar "feel" vs. the other ones. You would never mistake it for regular paper, do the other other feel more or less paper like or all they all about the same? I know to keep the non tear features it will never have a 100% paper feel but something a bit softer would not be bad.
-Dave
Rite in the rain feels like paper the most...and it tears and a bit soggy. Terra and Revlar...look and feel similar.

Dave...Revlar received...thankyou! Added a wallet in the water with the other two. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F06%2F12%2FAgldm.png&t=663&c=Ggps4vDM-I4uFw)

Rite in the rain arrived...submersed under water. This is tearable paper unlike Terra Slate...though rite in the rain also sell Duracopy which is similar to Terra slate and I might need to also get for this experiment. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F06%2F12%2FAgqB1.jpeg&t=663&c=VUW8zIL_icW3WQ)

I can confirm through our own testing that these types of paper are indeed water resistant.
Laser based keys do not get damaged in water either.
We tested this by actually placing a polymer Polymerbit note at the bottom of a lake to see if there was any impact.
Also strong streams/jets of water do not cause an impact either from what we saw.
Thankyou for sharing that...good to know

This is important to note: Note that TerraSlate is not compatible with inkjet printers as water-based ink does not adhere well to waterproof paper.
And the riteintherain paper: COMPATIBILITY: Photo or laser print both sides. Not for inkjet printers.
So true...i tried inkjet and nothing really printed..so it would be very obvious inkjet would not be compatable. Laserprint is the way I am testing...but thanks for highlighting that fact. Updated OP as well

This thread had me do some thinking and searching for the best paper I can use for paper wallets and paper wallets for our collectable loaded items as well. Only compatible with Laser printers...NOT inkjets. I will also be testing another water proof paper by https://www.riteintherain.com/ as well Testing Revlar as well. I have come across Terra Slate paper touted as The most durable paper on the planet. TerraSlate is acid-free and is great for archival use. https://terraslatepaper.com/ https://terraslatepaper.com/pages/faq They even place the paper in a dishwasher to test it!! https://youtu.be/kWwkd-1LCEc TerraSlate Paper has proven to be the world's most tear-proof & waterproof laser printer paper. Compatible with ballpoint pens, copy machines, laser printer and digital presses, TerraSlate is a synthetic paper that never needs laminating.
TerraSlate was developed to be durable, tear-proof and waterproof in order to withstand rain, heat up to 450 degrees, temperature variations, all while repelling grease, solvents and chemicals.
TerraSlate weatherproof paper offers superior laser image quality with the appearance, smoothness and printability of standard paper; and works great in most any standard laser printer or digital press. Most importantly, TerraSlate weatherproof paper is more cost-effective to use and has a much more professional look than laminating. Well, I bought some and conducted an experiment to see if this is so.... One of our main fears with paper wallets is water damage. So I printed out a set of private and pub keys, printed and conducted 2 different experiments.. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F06%2F12%2FAgDpo.jpeg&t=663&c=EGse4H_c87_MaQ) The first was to just dip the wallet into the water for a few seconds and let dry... Passed with flying colors...was able to scan the qr codes easily and also no damage done whatsoever. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F06%2F12%2FAgWZT.jpeg&t=663&c=UT_1oP7N0lh-Xw) For the second test I placed the wallet under water in a tall glass for at least 12 hours.... Again it passed with flying colors. No damage and QR codes read easily via my mycellium wallet app. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftalkimg.com%2Fimages%2F2023%2F06%2F12%2FAge3l.jpeg&t=663&c=Jto4VLDt-imOSg) I have to say I am very impressed with these papers and will use for my project as well as any paper wallets that I have. As per request from Mbitr will do as follows>> I will place under water for 2 weeks...test and place and leave in the glass for a loong time and every few weeks will test and place again...and on and on ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) . Will update this thread monthly on results.

Not to derail the thread, but I am interested in a similar topic that I was hoping people can elaborate on a bit.
For those that would like to share, what are some companies that make these holograms? I’ve read there are people who make and sell them on Alibaba, but what are some other alternatives? Not sure if people regard this type of info as “proprietary” or not but am interested in these topics and the “behind the scene” type stuff that rarely get talked about such as what Krog brought up.
You are not derailing anything my friend....please feel free to post as I am sure other will learn from it too. So no offense taken! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) What is stopping someone from copying a hologram that your make in order to sell fakes? or better yet, someone at the hologram printing company, printing extra holograms for themselves, then buying your coin, then peeling it and replacing with a fresh hologram that they made without permission? Yes great question indeed! Lets say you use the same company that made the hologram...and they refuse as they don't want to duplicate any past orders...I am sure there are other companies that will not have any issues in doing so. If you are worried about you hologram company copying your design or keeping some then you should be doing more research in finding a reputable hologram company. Good work ain't cheap, cheap work ain't good. You get what you pay for.. do you want security or a pretty sticker.... I'm not so worried about a company printing the holograms for someone else, although how would you know if they did or not? I'd be more concerned about a rogue employee simply making extra sheets or something along those lines. Good point...it can happen to any solid safe company. Don't rely on holograms only... for security.... If you are making a coin that uses a hologram sticker, what other forms of security would you recommend using? Laser etched holograms .... I think have been used.. laser etching changes things......it can be done inhouse So holograms done In-house, laser etched, and all coin mintage/address info as mj stated above. Anything else? It seems nothing is 100% fool proof, except bitcoin itself. Best it seems we can do is minimize as many counter-parties involved with making of coins. Aye ...nothing is 100% fool proof, except bitcoin itself. Couldnt agree more mate...God Bless Bitcoin!
