2141  Economy / Economics / Re: A noob question. on: March 09, 2015, 05:50:41 PM
The halving is near, and as many of us know, it will slow the amount of coins "minted" each time the miners find a block. I understand the basic of supply and demand, and I also know that the lesser the supply is, the higher the price. But what if there is a less supply but also less demand on the other side? Would the price still be high as expected? Or will it be low because apparently there are no buyers on the other side of the market?

Confused here. Please help.  Huh  Huh

The halving of the reward is only one factor. Of course if the demand reduces more than the supply then the price will go down.
But the halving means a price increase is more likely (just likely).

2142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoins are so expensive on Ebay? on: March 09, 2015, 05:46:14 PM
I hope I'm putting this in the right area, sorry if not.

I see tons of people selling bitcoins (partials) at 2x-3x normal going rates. Why is that?
Or better yet, why would anyone buy those??

Thanks.

Mainly because PayPal is reversible.

This causes 2 effects:

1) Sellers have to take a risk effects. For example if 25% of buyers scam the sellers then they have to increase the price more than 25%.
So if they sell $1,000 worth of bitcoin for $1,300 and they lose $250 on scams then they still profit.

2) Because of this very few people risk and sell for PayPal. This reduces supply and the price is increased out of speculation.
People who want to buy have fewer options and have to pay more for it.
2143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sub $200 by Tomorrow on: March 09, 2015, 05:09:14 PM
It's funny to see Sub $200 by Tomorrow right next to $350 by Sunday.
2144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 50,000 BTC of acution have been sent! on: March 09, 2015, 05:06:48 PM
50,000 BTC have just been sent! It's clear someone have won the acution. Waitting for further details news.

https://chain.com/bitcoin/addresses/12pCPrWvudnefJCtXQUBcm9z2NogtC3Rix

This is the correct transaction id :

http://chain.bitboat.net/tx/3e1754e8ea62dacb9a17d45a2e4c1acdcbbc1ce1b6c39f59b5336409a0adfa5e

Who has won these 50'000 bitcoins ? I didn't find any "name".

Who made this transaction with 0 fee, the winning bidder must be anxious right now, non-fee transaction might take several days to get a confirmation.

Let's keep eyes open on the news, there might be some news about the price latter.

BTW, redsn0w can you confirm Blockchain.info is works for you or not.

Are you serious? that amount with that coin age have top priority without the need of any fees.

Blockchain is working fine here.
2145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 50,000 BTC of acution have been sent! on: March 09, 2015, 04:59:24 PM
Nice finding. Still unconfirmed transaction, so fresh hehe.

As far as I know the name of the winner is not published? Or is it?

2147  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: <FS> $500 Paypal my cash physical cards for $400 BTC - <escrow accepted> on: March 09, 2015, 04:43:17 PM
C E S A R is a fucking idiot. Don't trade with him. My Cash vouchers go for 60% or $300 for a $500 voucher.

C E S A R is obviously a retarded homeless slum dweller who buys these carded My Cash vouchers for $300 and re-sells them for $400.

Yes they are carded vouchers. Or they are obtained through malware/ransom-ware/tor-locker payments. These vouchers are dirty. Dirty money.

No one would sell real vouchers for $100 off. Stupid idiots like C E S A R buy these vouchers off blackhat forums are re-sell them.

My Cash voucher can and will be reversed and charged back if PayPal finds out they were carded. Your PayPal account will also be limited.

Either that or CESAR is money laundering as suggested by Tomatocage in Cesar's profile. Either way the only intelligent move here is to stay away from him.
2148  Economy / Speculation / Re: $350 by Sunday on: March 09, 2015, 04:39:34 PM
I pinky swear.

Fortunately you didn't specify which Sunday Wink

Me too I think it will reach $350 on a Sunday, not sure which one though
(and of course I couldn't swear it).
2149  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 1.8btc loan for 3 days 30% interest on: March 09, 2015, 04:37:11 PM

Yes, the sum is frozen. If I had those money i wouldn't however start posting in here. I don't know what the pricing for 1-year bct account is. Whats your take on its value? Anyway, i don't want to go this road discussing what price of an account could be based on its post counting or registration date. There is no bad intent.

As to the interest rate i'm defining it from the lending sum and taking into consideration that i don't have a positive trust.

at the very best, you can lend about 0.3-0.4 with your account as collateral, no one could provide that huge amount of coins if there is no insurance with his coins, your interest rate is very high which indicates you are in frustation to get that 1.8 bitcoins
Ur opinion is understandable lol. I don't mind what does it indicate to u however i'm okay to lower the rate to fit ur expectation of interest on 500 bux three-day lending Wink

Put on sale for bitcoins some hardware, hoping it sells out shortly. Anyway i have some collaterals, contact me for further details. In either way i'm fine.

Definitely you should lower the interest rate, as long as you offer proper collateral.

And asking people to "contact you for further detail" instead of publishing the collateral and other information seems fishy too.

2150  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ButterflyLabs - Refund after raid on: March 09, 2015, 03:36:18 PM
I'm one of the people scammed by ButterflyLabs.

On January the 4th I got an email from them with the subject "Butterfly Labs Cloud Mining Order is Ready"
with the option to request a full refund or to renew the order for a lower price.
Of course I asked for a full refund. I wonder if anybody fell again in their new try to scam by renewing the order.

So far I haven't received the refund and recently I received another email saying that all orders below $1,000 (myself included) will
be refunded during the month of March. I know their word is worth nothing, but if it's a court order I guess there's hope.

Who is in a similar situation as I am. Who has got a full refund?

After 13-15 months I was fully refunded about 3 or 4 months ago. I was refunded around 550 usd .

3 or 4 months ago during the raid?  I thought everything got frozen during that time.

So it was before January the 4th?

2153  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a .2 btc loan for 20 days @20% on: March 09, 2015, 03:11:55 PM
if situation is favourable.

Lenders don't like this kind of sentence. If you are not certain to pay back in time, you better ask for a few days more..

I meant paying before.Ok considered.
Nice editing skill you have here Op. So before you were considering not paying at all? That is not a good sign. Aso for your information, member bitcointalk accounts are dirt cheap, not really valid collateral material.

To be fair, he said "I will be able to pay before 20 days if situation is favourable."

Honestly I understand that as If favorable I will pay before 20 days, otherwise I'll pay in exactly 20 days.

Anyway I wouldn't loan with the current offered collateral. I'm pretty sure OP won't get it without a proper one.
2154  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 1.8btc loan for 3 days 30% interest on: March 09, 2015, 02:40:21 PM
I don't see any mention of a collateral.
Don't expect to loan such an amount without any kind of guarantee..
I can provide vircurex account having 1.57 BTC on balances (frozen for the time being).

Also i offer quite high interest rate - 30% for 3 days.

My bitcointalk account is 1 year old & there is no an intent at my end to take risks of receiving negative trust for the good of $500. I wouldn't be asking for a loan if there weren't decisive circumstances involving me into obligation to immediately repay expenses for the website. I have fiat, but there is no chance to buy bitcoins as swiftly as i need.

Just hit off of a little frustrative combination of facts when run out of spare bitcoins.

So that you know offering a high interest doesn't help in trusting you will repay the load.
Actually personally I see 10% per day slightly as too good to be true so I'd need a proper collateral to lend.

2159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin documentary is playing on international flights on: March 07, 2015, 03:32:58 PM

However I have already watched it before the flight.

Cool. Same airline or which one?
I was on a Lufthansa plane
Not sure what model, but it was a big plane

Hehe no need for the model Tongue
I wonder if Lufthansa is the only airline with the documentary.
