I would consider BTC as payment.  I can guarantee 99.9% uptime on my end.  If something went wrong and there was more than .1% downtime, I would gladly pro-rate a portion of the contract as a refund.

Are you interested in pointing all of my miners at a pool of your choice?  Or would you just like the payouts from my current pool directed towards your wallet?

I'll take it, for $800.

Do you want the miners pointed at a specific pool, or would you like the payout from my current set-up?

Can i give you 8.75 BTC to rent it for 24 hours?

I would consider that.  PM me with details.
2144  Economy / Services / Anyone interested in 7 GH/s? on: August 16, 2011, 03:55:33 PM
I have built a nice little farm with 7,000+ MH/s.

I am willing to rent it out on a 30 day contract for $1,000.  Anyone interested?

2146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / has ANYONE recieved a withdrawal from Tradehill yet? on: August 15, 2011, 09:12:37 PM
They were supposed to begin working through the backlog starting on Friday.  Has anyone seen movement on pending withdrawals?

Mine has shown "in process" for over a week, and still does.  Just wondering if any progress is being made, and I don't want boilerplate from the people who run TH.
2147  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Mining contract/Rig hosting on: August 10, 2011, 06:23:04 PM
When I was 17, and started having sex (with a girl, and yes, I started later than most), my mom stated to me that she knew I was having sex. I asked her how see knew. She smiled and said a parent just knows, and when you get older, you'll know also. I didn't have a clue how she knew or found out, but when I got older, I realized how she knew.

What does this comment have to do with the OP? Read between the lines. If you're still not sure, or don't have a clue, PM me. I'll answer honestly, but you won't like it (the italic phrase is only directed towards the OP).

You sir, are an idiot.

WOW! I sure the hell didn't see that coming. I offer up sound advice, and get called an idiot (BTW, the "sir" aspect did add a nice touch to it). There is nothing in my comment that should have cause you to call me an idiot. If you would have PM'ed me, you would have received a wealth of valuable information.

But since you did, and opted to not, let's pretend for a moment that you own a B&M type business. You just opened up your handsome shop in a new town that has the potential of the community craving for your product or service. I walk into your store and start browsing around. You see me, whereupon you walk up to me, you kindly ask me if you can help me, then hand me a flyer outlining your business model. I kindly take the flyer, glance over it and, while looking around your store and seeing your other customers, I comment, "Very nice store. I see the potential here. But I would have incorporated a blue color scheme opposed to the pink." Now, what do you think would happen if you then said, "You sir, are an idiot!"? At this point, I feel I may have to help you with the answer because you have already proven that you'll need help in this department. The answer is: I would walk out. Walk out without buying anything. Remember all those people that were in this imaginary store? They also heard the comment, whereupon they also walked out--without buying a thing. Now we tell our ten friends of the experience we had at your shop. Do you see business dropping off at this point? Dropped off business at the onset of opening is not a good thing.

What you did, by simply posting that comment, is several times worse. I think I see you scratching your head on this so, once again, I will explain. An online shop has the potential of reaching a wider audience than any B&M shop because it's global. All your potential global customers just heard read you calling another customer an idiot. Unless I didn't get the memo that this is the new business plan for today's social media economy, one of use just screwed ourselves--big time. Never, ever post on the internet a derogatory remark toward a potential customer. Because somebody may come along and quote it, thereby making a permanent copy for all to see. You're now in damage control mode, and your doors are barely open. Anything short of an apology will turn your damage mode into a crisis mode. Can you afford this?

But, this being a somewhat forgiving society, I offer up my proposal one more time. I suggest you PM me, for I do have some sound advice to offer up to help with your endeavor. No hard feelings on my part. Yours?

How bout one of them leather wallets??

well seeing as how you  had not provided pictures of the space, transparent cost numbers and other shit, shipping info and geographical or rough location data, or really anything much but a seat of your pants type post.

it's not going to work.

#1, you can't post your name or actual location, cuz then you open yourself up to a real smash and grab.
#2, well #1 is enough to make it too risky for you and everyone else involved, unless you create an idea to fix that.
#3, your whole premise is that of setting up a makeshift data center, relying on people to send entire computers(shipping is costly, repair is costly, hardware is costly, your time is costly, their time is costly, troubleshooting is costly). however people are indeed selling this kind of venture who already have the hardware in place at undisclosed locations with their entire business model written up and transparent, where the client just ssh's into said platform and controls what they want to do.
#4, you have to register as a business, so that the cops won't kick in your door for growing herb.
#5 insurance so one person's shit doesn't burn everyone and your shit down.
#6, you currently have 34 posts, this should have actually been #1 but I didn't want to break to you so hard.

I hope I stopped you from doing this, or at least have you reconsidering posting something like what you posted again. All these people expect a level of professionalism that you have not yet provided.
In the future, when you have another idea, explore the idea to a vast and very thorough extent before processing it into this forum. it will saved you a load of trouble and headache.

Just remember before you post any kind of endeavor that requires another party to put trust on you, read the shit you wrote, and deduce if you would even question trusting the guy who posted it. you also need really good looking pictures. in this case the inside of a missle silo or nuclear bunker coupled with some kind of long standing proof.

you got lucky and received my once a month free advice on how to do shit good! Cheesy

#1  I absolutely can post the location.  This isn't some fucking apartment.  We are 6 floors up with corporate security.
#2  Hence why I am bouncing it out there to see if anyone is interested enough to overcome said flaws
#3  Where can I get my 10 Gh/s hosted for a REASONABLE fixed fee by someone only hosting BTC miners?
#4  Already done
#5  Already done
#6  Sorry I can't live my life on the forums.  I actually have a life outside here.

This would merely be an addition to an existing, well established organization.  I am not trying to set up a datacenter in my basement.

Thanks for the advice.....next time I am starting up a lemonade stand I will look you up.

Name
Address
Phone number
Name of business
Written terms of service
D&B #
6 customer references
6 vendor references

Maybe if people started requesting something like the above we'd have less scams & fraud?

I agree.  I like constructive feedback.  The fucking retards who run around screaming scam about everything reall don't add any value.  They probably don't add much value in their real life also, but I digress.

2154  Economy / Marketplace / Mining contract/Rig hosting on: August 09, 2011, 09:32:38 PM
I would like to offer what I feel is a unique service, and one that I have not seen on the forums.

I will host your mining rig for a flat monthly fee based on MH/s.  This fee would include power, guaranteed uptime, and a secure location.  The miner would be pointed at a pool of your choice, so you can verify the work being done as agreed upon.

The advantages I see to you:  greatly reduced power bill, no headaches with cooling, simplified mining experience.

The advantages for me:  I monetize my access to cheap power, fiber internet, and class A hosting space.

Essentially I am in a position to arbitrage my cost advantage, and take a little profit for my trouble.

Would anyone be interested in this?  I think I can offer the service for $50 per month, per 1,000 MH/s.  I am looking for feedback as well as interested parties.  I think this would be a valuable service for anyone who lives in an area with high power cost.

thanks for reading.
2155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Building a Bitcoin business - best practices suggestions on: August 08, 2011, 08:00:02 PM
It seems to me that the biggest hurdle to more people adopting BTC is the issue trust.  How does one know if a merchant is reputable?  We all know that when we go to Amazon.com and send them money, the product we ordered shows up like clockwork in a few days.  There is no question as to the soundness of the transaction.

With this being said, does anyone have good ideas on how to foster such trust in a newly launched BTC business?  Do you start by doing very small transactions in order to build up a rep?  Do you participate in the forums extensively so people are comfortable with your organization?

Any ideas are welcome.....it seems like a very difficult problem, and one that has yet to be really addressed.
2156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TradeHill - Who we are on: August 05, 2011, 05:47:47 PM
I've been waiting 4 days. Made a request for wire withdrawal on monday morning, still showing "In Process".

Not good.  No response from Tradehill.
2157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TradeHill - Who we are on: August 05, 2011, 02:26:56 PM
We sent 41 wires out (thats not at all common) and the bank locked the wires down as a precautionary measure. I've spoken with them on the phone. Everything is fine and it should be lifted in a few minutes. I've submitted additional paperwork and Bitcoin is a new concept to these guys so it takes some time. We have been opening other accounts to prevent something like this from happening in the future. The wires are in the queue and it's on the bank to get it out. If something changes I'll update but it should be on it's way.

Jered

Jered, it has now been 3 days since I requested the wire, and it still shows as "in process".  I am losing a lot of faith in Tradehill at the moment.  Can you provide any clarity on thie at all?  My e-mails have gone un-answered.

2158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TradeHill - Who we are on: August 04, 2011, 06:51:45 PM
Any response on my measly 100btc which are stuck in your system for 48 hours now? There have been enough blocks generated, I believe. Is there any other reason you are holding my btc?

+1

Disbursing BTC is not supposed to be terribly difficult.  Trivial vs. other forms of currency in fact.  That's one of the reasons why I like Bitcoin.

When the market is in flux it is especially nice to be able to move rapidly.  So getting things bogged down in process is a genuine harm to some people.

In my case, the delay is not hurting me other than the risk of Tradehill's solvency I am absorbing.  I would like it if Tradehill would offer to pay interest (or whatever you want to call it) on BTC which are not dispersed according to published policy.

For my part, I would weigh the risk against the reward and make a decision about what I wanted to do.  I highly value honesty and transparency.  The more confidence in Tradehill I could gain in this way, the less risk I would feel that I am carrying, and the lower the 'interest' I would accept to lend Tradhill my liquidity.

This seems eminently fair to me.  Thoughts?

+++1

Totally agree.  Transferring btc should be of no issue whatsoever.

You do know they have a contact email right?
Resolve it with them first. Then bitch on the forum.

Thanks genius, I have sent several.  Only after no response have I "bitched" on the forum.
