classic ist wohl mehr oder weniger abgeblasen. nachdem bitfury sich schon eher reserviert geäussert hatte, hat heute F2Pool seine unterstützung gezeigt für einen plan von bitcoin-core märz 2017 auf 2MB zu hardforken und etliche andere sachen ebenfalls gleich mit in die HF zu packen.

In the end, Classic might win because of RBF Work on 0.12 will start after the 0.11.2 release. We are planning to disable opt-in RBF. This decision is based on community feedback (miners included). https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin_Classic/comments/41qeac/release_plan_19jan2016/With testing due to start at the end of the month, Core will have to decide pretty soon if it will match Classic's increase in block sizes, or face a realistic forking off the chain. I had thought support for Classic was a veiled threat by some of those that have come out in support....but, RBF might be the clincher. imo its already given that classic will reach the 75% easily. the only question remains how core will react. as i see it they have also some breakup-potential, some might be willing to cooperate and to switch to 2MB also, others might go radical and choose another hash-algo (like maxwell/luke already hinted). that could get really messy. as i see it at the moment the biggest concern of the most core-devs is if segwit is able to run side by side with a non-segwit-client. |

Man kann zwar schön nachkaufen, aber ob es langfristig aufwärts geht wage ich zu bezweifeln, wenn sich alle Entwickler in den Haaren liegen und sich gegenseitig schlecht machen.
Wenn sich zwei streiten, freut sich der ... die Frage ist nur wer? etherum  ich hab von core entwicklern auch schon vernommen das man im worst case geschlossen zu etherum wechseln würde. man kann natürlich nie sagen wie jeder einzelne handeln würde, aber es zeigt wie die stimmung steht. |

die coins sind weiter gültig auch wenn sich der hash algorithmus irgendwann ändern würde. klar mit ASIC könnte man von vorne anfangen.
für ein Investor bietet das Sicherheit, odeR? also die bitcoins werden nicht ungültig durch einen netzwerk fork. am besten man lässt seine coins liegen bis der netzwerk fork vorüber gegangen ist und sich die lage beruhigt hat. jedoch resultiert der hohe kurs bei Bitcoin zu einem nicht unerheblichen teil aus der gigantischen hashpower des netzwerkes. je stärker das netzwerk desto höher die kosten für einen angriff auf das netzwerk. es wäre also ein schuss ins knie auf SHA3 umzustellen und von quasi nahezu null zu beginnen mit GPU/FPGA miner und die ASIC miner erst später für SHA3 zur verfügung zu haben. ganz genau die sicherheit und damit quasi das "asset" des netzwerkes sind die investitionen der miner, tritt man sie vors schienenbein dann ist das recht dämlich. |

hä? das ist ein code fork (kein netzwerk fork) vom umstrittenen luke-jr. der kann auf seinem code fork machen was er will und repräsentiert nicht Bitcoin Core.  er kann auch seine node damit betreiben wenn er einen SHA3coin haben will und da mit der CPU minen. ja, das ist ein code-fork. nichtsdestotrotz maxwell bestätigt ja schon den plan. siehe hier:  |

Yeah, try getting miners to run that shit. nah the nodes will. after coulpe week of diff adjustement, it will be fine.  its obv a hardfork, so there wont be weeks needed to any diff-adjustment. you start right away with a very low diff. |
