2161  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Regulation Can Also Be Protection on: January 22, 2018, 12:00:57 PM
If the bitcoins are regulated then it will be really helpful for the entire community. The regulations will make sure to protect the interest of the investors and it will also keep check on the service providers. People will start to trust bitcoins and it will attract more investment into the bitcoin market; as the demand for the bitcoins will increase, there will be rise in the value of the bitcoins.
2162  Economy / Economics / Re: what is the worst thing did you did in crypto world? on: January 21, 2018, 12:58:15 PM
Few years ago, I placed bet on a cricket match and i won it. I got  1.5 btc for 0.5 but instead of saving these btc i kept betting on other cricket matches and by the end of the league i left with 0.2 btc. I know it was a worst decision to continue with the betting but i was unaware that there will be huge rise in the value of the bitcoins in the coming years.

2164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin? on: January 21, 2018, 12:25:32 PM
I don't think that there will be further decrease in the value of the bitcoins unless there is any negative news. Bitcoin's price has been recovered slightly after the sharp fall in last few weeks and i believe that it will be increased by each passing day. There will be small corrections on a regular basis but it will continue to recover in short time, i believe there will be at least 40-50% appreciation in the current value of the bitcoins by the end of 2018.
2165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 21, 2018, 12:14:15 PM

Indian repeats history. One more poor performance from the Indian team. Yesterday when they lost 3 wickets just for 30 runs I was expected this result. Fantastic bowling from Ngidi. SA overall played well in both bowling and batting. India needs a batsman like Rahane to bat well in fast tracks. congrats to SA.

Indian players only good at playing on home grounds, not outside India. For this reason, you should develop a good test player like Dravid and Lakshman so that they stand and play for long. Currently, they have is all T20 batsman and they all just want to come and hit the balls and no technical skills. Captain also not matured enough to pick a right bowler and batsman to the pitch conditions so you can't expect any better results from this Indian team in overseas.
You are right I was not expecting defeat like this because they all play like school boys very poor technique for test matches they must thought about Dhoni and give him second chance for minimum two years then hope Kohli can do some better otherwise in overseas series against Australia England and South Africa they are going down like this every time
It's just that coaching isn't upto the mark, Shastri is very careless . You can see so many catches dropped which a well-drilled team would never miss, this is why Kumble was the best . Kohli and Shastri can't just drop inform players and choose others overseas.
Yes Ravi Shastri is not fit for coach position. Just because of Kholi recommendation he becomes Indian team coach. Kumble is the best coach for the Indian team, but too much politics is happening in BCCI. The present test team is worst, and Kholi is not fit for test team captaincy. I think they will not win any match in this series.

I would like to add that, indian team is very successful under the Virah Kohli's captaincy as they are the no 1 test team at the moment. So its wrong to say that Kohli is not fit for the test captaincy. Last time when South Africa visited india, they did not won any test match due to the home advantage of Indian team; same applies to current series as well. I agree that, there were selection blunders in the 2nd test match but don't forget that Kohli was the only batsman who managed to stood in the first inning & scored 150 + runs.

OP hasn't logged it for 5 days I would be hesitant to think this would go ahead - just a warning to you all.

Yeah, why people are wasting their time on this poorly managed campaign. Its clear that something is wrong with the campaign, don't wear the signature until the funds are escrowed by the trusted user of this forum.

2169  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that bitcoin can reduce corruption? on: January 15, 2018, 11:51:02 AM
Now that governments have a competitor in terms of currencies, do you think that they will make an effort to make the economic system more transparent or will they just try to ban everything?

Bitcoin is more likely to increase corruption as transactions cannot be traced back to an individual. It is one of the major issue that governments have with bitcoin and why many move to ban it.

I also think that bitcoin could not be helpful to reduce the corruption; as the corruption is everywhere, it is next to impossible to erase the same completely. Bitcoin's image has been already spoiled as it is helpful to complete the illegal activities due to its anonymous nature, then how can it would reduce the corruption ?
2170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: January 15, 2018, 11:21:39 AM
it will only go up. She bought at $4200 Sad
How soon can we REALISTICALLY see $4200 again and upwards?

You have persuaded your grandmother to invest her money into one of the most volatile markets there is. I don't know if i should laugh or cry.

Believing what people here say is plain stupid. Why do you think that you can believe anything that anyone says here? Anyone can create an account and write whatever they want without any consequences. This being said, this does not imply that there are no valid opinions and true statements. You have to understand one thing: everybody here is saying what they think as a personal opinion. It's always like that. You should read the book The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. It will open your eyes.

As for your options, you have two:
1. sell to minimize loss.
2. hold until price surpasses what you bought for.

My suggestion is - don't sell until price is above what you have bought. No one can tell you when this will happen. There is a slight possibility that this might never happen. So you have to gamble. But you have already gambled when you invested granny's money so, best of luck to you.

And here you go. Problem solved. Bitcoin is above 4200$ again. In this case you were lucky, hopefully you've learned your lesson. Just for the info - what do you plan to do now? Now you have a choice: you can return granny's money to usd and be thankful that everything ended up ok, or you can choose to be greedy and await further increase. What will you do?
Well this was not a bad suggestion, just think if the same advice was given by some one in 2013 when the bit was of USD 400 so his grandmother would now be billionaire in such a old age. But again this was the luck that the bit coin price drop down to 3000 USD and face some worry for some time but now you should be relax and be hopeful that bit coin can touch 10k in near future, I believe in risk and you must take risk like this.

Lol, crazy people are all over. Firstly, why did you listened to others and taken risk with grandma's savings. If its your money then it is quite understandable but putting grandma's money at risk was not a wise decision. As the price is pretty high than what you have bought at, you should en-cash the coins if you don't want to take risk anymore , still there will be a decent profit if you sell the bitcoins now.
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 14, 2018, 07:34:02 AM
Good comeback by Indian bowlers in the 3rd session but still 280 is not a bad score and they might score 350+ if Du plesis doesn't get out early.

Yup.... 350+ looks likely. But if Ashwin bowls well, then India may be able to limit them to somewhere around 300, and have a chance of winning the match. But if SA scores in excess of 350, then I am afraid that India is going to lose this match as well.
There is a chance of draw as well this time according to me because India has changed some batsmen and they are good at defending so we gotto wait and see till today tea session .

Yes this match could be draw as the wicket is quite looking good for the batting and india has very good batsmen who can bat all the day on this pitch. Still it will be very interesting to see how india will try to get out the SA tale-enders. On other hand, South African bowlers are performing extremely well and if they succeeded again to get few quick wickets then India will be under pressure to save the game and series as well.
2172  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin Forbidden In Islam? Why? on: January 14, 2018, 07:27:07 AM
No way, world is heading towards innovative technological reforms and digital currencies are the part of this digital revolution. I don't see any reason for the bitcoins to be forbidden in islam as people can use any currency to perform bad activities, it doesn't mean that all currencies should be forbidden in islam.
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2018 on: January 14, 2018, 07:20:46 AM
I'm sure that in 2018 bitcoin performance will be good, probably can not repeat the incidence of 2017 which goes up to 1600% but I'm sure it can go up to at least 500%. If it rises 500% then this year's price is around $ 70,000.

Not sure about $70,000 but it could easily reach $30,000 mark by the end of 2018. Although there are many hurdles in the way of bitcoins, still it will manage to be on top among the other digital currencies. Investors and traders should have some patience, no one should panic in the event of any negative news around the bitcoins; there is no need to panic selling and everyone should continue to hold and invest into the bitcoins in order to book high profit in future.
2174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Q for Bitcoin gamblers. Are you affected by high transaction fees? on: January 14, 2018, 05:50:05 AM
Ya it is so true that due to high fees and transaction confirmation delay is making to go back to fiat gambling sites or use altcoin for gambling.

We will not come back to fiat gambling, but gambling with alts can be next logical step. Fees are really high, I don't like to gamble with some big amounts, so when I wish to send 50-100 dollars that cost me almost half of that amount just to send that money. I'm thinking about changing my gambling habits, but before final decision I will give bitcoin more time to make this better. I'm familiar with some sites and I wouldn't like to change them for now reason, but this fees are really pain in the ass for many of us.

This is a sad reality and that is what is giving altcoins some subsidy and leverage over Bitcoin. It is not the users' fault but more the fault of the wallet services like Blockchain.info, and other services that refuse to implement Segwit. Also do not forget some of those services were the signatories of the NYA, the same people who were demanding that something should be done to lower the fees and increase the block size.

But why are they NOT using Segwit?

Well I am agree with you, the main business players in the bitcoin network should take some bold steps and work accordingly in order to implement the segwit. Just like others i am also getting frustrated whenever the transactions are unconfirmed  and got delayed even after paying high transaction fees.
2175  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transactions on: January 13, 2018, 12:55:04 PM
It will be required more time like a few days or even a week to clear the unconfirmed transactions. Every minutes there are 1000s of new transactions which are added to the bitcoin blockchain; due to these consistent new transactions and previous backlog, there has been tremendous load on the blockchain  which is really difficult to clear. Now days it is really frustrating to wait for days or pay high transaction fees to get the transactions confirmed.
2176  Economy / Economics / Re: Which crypto-currency do you prefer? on: January 13, 2018, 12:42:00 PM
At the moment I prefer Bitcoin, but I am looking for an alternative. Can anyone suggest me some alternative cryptocurrencies except Bitcoin ?!
P.S: I'm so sorry if I post this in the wrong board but I don't know what is right board for this question. If I post this in the wrong board, please move it to the right one, thank you.

For the investment purpose, i still prefer bitcoins as i strongly believe that only bitcoins can provide us more profit in the long run. Due to the slow network and hig transaction fees, I have stopped using bitcoins for making the payments. I also have some Ethereum which I am using for completing the transactions.
2177  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Trading! on: January 13, 2018, 12:21:04 PM
I am a beginner in the field of bitcoin trading, want to know whether success in trading depends more on experience or on skills.

As the bitcoin market is extremely volatile, it requires lot of experience to predict the market situation and act according to the changing equations. It also required certain trading skills if you want be a successful in the trading, so as per me both experience and skills are the main key to become a successful trader.
2178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If we can educate our kids at home why do we need to send them at school? on: January 13, 2018, 11:24:08 AM
There is a need to send the children to the schools/colleges as it not only educate them but also helps to develop their personality which helps them to become a successful in the future. We can not teach all the subjects and advanced professional studies at home, it is the responsibility of schools.
2179  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World biggest problems on: January 13, 2018, 11:12:53 AM
Global warming, poverty and terrorism are the biggest problem in this world. We humans are consistently increasing the global warming by destroying the forests, we have to take required precautions or else it will be a really difficult to live on the planet earth.  Poverty is also the big concern in the modern world, many countries in africa and asia are fighting with poverty which needs to addressed. Terrorism is a man made recent problem, people are getting killed in the name of religion which is dangerous for the world peace.
