2161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Portfolio for longterm investment on: June 03, 2022, 04:13:03 PM
I'll go with ETH and SOL since both of these are my favourite altcoins. Bitcoin always stays at the top though.
FTM and BNB are also some nice coins I have my eye on but for the time being I am waiting for some fiat money to buy them.
I think we can also buy some Decentraland or SAND to stay invested in the metaverse.
2162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More SOL outages = Price dump on: June 03, 2022, 04:05:36 PM
It really went from one digit to three digits but now it has become a lot of dumping. However, it is expected that if the market grows, the price of Solana will definitely increase.
That is just it, it is not only solana that falled in price, all other altcoins and even including bitcoin falled in price, just that their volatility can be more than another, but according to the recent price history that I checked, many altcoins have gone down 5* lower than their ATH.

Yeah that's true. Solana has dumped a lot but there are other potential altcoins as well which have been dumped more than SOL.
For instance, FTM is a good coin but it has been dumped all the way from $3 to $0.38 currently which is almost 10 times the price.
So I still think Solana is doing comparatively well even after the halt.
2163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good time for alts on: June 03, 2022, 02:40:30 PM
We can start accumulating more fiat money so that when the time arises we can buy more number of coins.
which will be the question, when is it time to buy it?
To be honest, until now I have never been able to analyze how the market bottomed out and find its stability.
it's easy when we start long term planning. then buying now and some more in case of a dip is a great way to keep your assets and not fall behind when the market recovers quickly.
Everyone dreams of buying altcoins at the cheapest prices. but many of them do not know when the market is down.

Finding out the bottom of bitcoin will help us accumulate the altcoins at a better price.
Currently $28k is a good support line for bitcoin and we have to wait until the price crosses above $32k.
Once that is done we can buy some alts and then wait if bitcoin dumps again or not.
If it dumps lower then we should wait for the next bottom line and that's how we keep accumulating in the dips.

It's been a long time since I last played WOF. Although I wanted more sats, the lottery tickets ain't that bad. Maybe I can end up with even more sats on the next draw Grin

Or may be you can take a little risk and play the multiply btc game and get more sats.
But ofcourse we have the risk to lose it all as well, it all depends on your luck though.
I was lucky enough today to win a decent bet.  Tongue

2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / More SOL outages = Price dump on: June 02, 2022, 03:49:36 PM
It's a tough year for SOL supporters because of the recent outages in the Solana blockchain.
Bots keep on attacking the blockchain by spamming millions of transactions yet the devs don't have a solution to these.
It's no rocket science that spammers are using the low fees and high TPS as a leverage but this has to stop soon or else SOL will collapse just like LUNA.
The latest outage was today when the team had to restart the blockchain because millions of transactions were being spammed on the network and so they had to halt the blockchain.
I was once a strong believer of the Solana blockchain but this is really bad for a blockchain and completely unacceptable.

2166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Depression Starts in Cryptocurrency Anytime on: June 02, 2022, 03:35:24 PM
Why Depression Starts in Cryptocurrency Anytime. some time gain profit some time loss.i feel any time depression.

It's the losses that causes depression and we tend to feel bad when any negative thing occurs to us.
In crypto trading, the volatility is quite high and most of the times, it takes just a few days for the trend to change.
Just like any other asset trading, crypto also works on the principle of demand and supply.
It can't go in one direction alone which is why there are cycles when people lose money and that's normal.
2167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good time for alts on: June 02, 2022, 03:22:00 PM
Do we need to wait more 1- 2 years then buy alts now before right before bull market kick in?

Waiting would be a good thing to do right now but it's not necessary to wait for 1 or 2 years.
We just have to wait until bitcoin recovers from the current dip because once bitcoin pumps the altcoins will follow.
We can start accumulating more fiat money so that when the time arises we can buy more number of coins.
2168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone explain what is the value of meme coins? on: June 02, 2022, 03:19:44 PM
I am confused that there are meme coins whose prices are sky rocketing but I dont see any real value these meme coins are providing

Those meme coins are skyrocketing because of the fake hype that is being created by the developers and the supporters.
Everybody wants to make a quick profit out of those meme coins and thus the hype around them.
In the long run all of those meme coins will get dumped and basically there's no intrinsic value to them.

Miracles do happen and this is one of them. Guess what, despite all the odds, the bitcoin has managed to pump above 30,000$ which no one was expecting but i did show a hint of possibility yesterday  Smiley

I have found a sort of pattern that if the bitcoin dumps on the weekend, it usually pumps on a Monday morning and this pump continues till Wednesday before its starts to dump again. This may sound ridiculous but i have observed this pattern number of times.  Wink
Damn, this bet was quite thrilling but unfortunately I didn't win the bet. I was very close to winning though.
If the price would have pushed a few more dollars then it could have been above $2000 and I would have won.
But it was quite of a thrill to watch BTC dump so much and then recover price at the last moment.
You did well enough, you should have seen me lol Cheesy. I wagered on 40k-42.5k range thinking that I would be winning so much more, the odds were insane for it as well and I believed that we may recover there. Of course we didn't but at that time it looked like a good idea, I do not know why.

In any case, 30k+ is good and I am glad that some people won, the under 30k and over 30k bets were both quite close to each other in odds, a lot of people wagered on those and even 32+  level one became third so it was obvious that people believed it would be just under or just over that and I am glad that it ended over because higher price means making profit.

I think the odds for over 40.000 dollars for Bitcoin in end of June will be insane right now so why don't you try this month also.I am going to give it a try with a small amount of money myself to just enjoy the fun this kind of bet gives. The odds right now are over 42x which is a great value if it happens to come true. The more common ranges have odds of 2-3 which is not at all appealing to me.

I am happy for the people that won but the amount they won I believe is not that great if they didn't bet a lot of money because that price target was the most natural for the May period and the odds weren't that great.

The odds were quite decent for BTC and was good for ETH. Anything more than 2x is a good bet for me since we are doubling the amount.
Let's see what this month has for bitcoin. I will apply the same strategy and wait for the last week to analyze and then place my bet either on BTC or ETH.

2171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to proper trade in you asset in this market situation? on: May 30, 2022, 02:21:54 PM
Hello everyone.

I'm try to trading professional trading not possible to in this market condition. how safe my asset proper way?

I mean if we see "when is market condition bear" then i would be perfect call to buy top100 crypto. But anyone suggestion in this situation when we fall in bear market.

Keep accumulating over the long term by buying at dips. Always keep spare cash to buy the dip just in case one occurs.
Analyze the market and look for opportunities when you can take out the profits.
With those profits, keep buying when the market goes in a down trend. Patience is the key.
You will feel many times to sell as soon as you see some profits but hold you way until the market goes in opposite direction on bigger timeframes.
2172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what age did you start learning about bitcoin? on: May 30, 2022, 01:56:56 PM

1. At what age did you start learning about bitcoin?
2. What role did age and prior experience play in helping you learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency?
3. With your current knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, do wish you started at an earlier age?

1. I started learning about bitcoin around the age of 20. I was quite overwhelmed when I got to know about bitcoin at first.
A few years down the line it all made sense to me and I turned out to become a bitcoin believer.

2. As I was quite young I didn't have any experience in the financial field. Crypto was the first financial system I was playing around with.
This made me open to risks and losses and helped me overcome my fear of losses.

3. Obviously. Everyone present here wishes they knew about bitcoin earlier.
2173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should I be concerned about the history of bitcoins when buying them ? on: May 30, 2022, 01:40:40 PM
If I purchase bitcoins via p2p, can I get some problems if the bitcoins I get were involved in some criminal activity ? If yes then how do I avoid such situation ?

Honestly speaking, it's hard to determine whether the bitcoins were previously used for illicit activities or not.
Most of the criminals/hackers use mixers to get away with the trace to their bitcoins and this makes it very very hard to figure out if those bitcoins were used for criminal activities or not.
So I think we as a regular user/trader/investor shouldn't be much concerned about the bitcoins we are holding.
2174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's in for crypto wallet companies? on: May 29, 2022, 12:26:46 PM
1. Some wallets are just here to contribute to the industry, and probably for the devs to have some development experience for their portfolios. (e.g. Electrum)
2. Some non-Bitcoin wallets have a built in swap feature where they route to DEXs, and they add a small fee on top of that. (e.g. MetaMask)
3. Some probably collect data.

Adding to this

4. Some wallets get their revenue from the number of downloads on Playstore/Appstore
5. Some wallets have advertisements and gain ad revenue from them
2175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What was BITCOIN's Launch Market Cap ? on: May 29, 2022, 12:23:46 PM
Hi Guys,

I am Joy, and I am new here. I have been trying to find the Market Cap of bitcoin at launch, but haven't been able to.

Also where can I see the 1st buy transaction of bitcoin.

Hoping to learn a lot from all of you

Cheers
-Joy
As you have been already told that in the initial days of launch the bitcoin prices were merely zero as there was no exchange to list it and people willing to buy it.As simple rule of economics the prices are derived by demand and supply but there was supply only through mining but no demand so no market cap was available for it.But first rates were published by New Library standard on 5th October 2009 and they were site offering buy/sell bitcoin service through PayPal.These were the rates back then according to them :

snip

Quote
NewLibertyStandard calculated this exchange rate using a formula based on:

dividing $1.00 by the average amount of electricity required to run a computer with high CPU for a year, 1331.5 kWh, multiplied by the average residential cost of electricity in the United States for the previous year, $0.1136, divided by 12 months divided, by the number of bitcoins generated by my computer over the past 30 days.

So as per this formula and established price the bitcoin was at $1= 1309BTC

Wow, I never knew this. Is this really true ? So the price of 1 BTC was initially $0.0007639.
This means that bitcoin's current price has increased to 37,963,084x times the initial price.
Do you have the buy/sell transactions made during those times ?

Just started with a $3 bet, but it went upto $98 and ended with empty wallet.

You are lucky that you lose only 98$, I lost 175$ yesterday and 60$ last week. You can easily imagine how I would be feeling right now. Gambling is all about losing your hard earned money in few minutes or seconds. Despite all my efforts I can't restrict myself from gambling.

Well, when I first started gambling excessively, I lost more than $300 just like that.
It was hard earned money ofcourse but I didn't realize the losses until one day I calculated all my losses and the amount crossed $300.
That was when I decided not to gamble excessively and from that day onwards, I never gambled with an amount more than $5 per bet.
Also, I gamble for not more than 10 - 15 minutes a day and less than 4-5 times a week.
This way I have restricted myself from gambling excessively and limiting my losses. Self control is the trick here.

How many projects will rug pull in 2022? There are many projects that will face the same fate as Luna project but I believe we are able to raise voice on Luna CEO because he is popular and well known, what about projects with invincible CEO? There are tons of Defi and metaverse projects with invincible team, I think their case will be much worse than what we've seen.

What you have said is absolutely true. Sooner or later most of the coins without a purpose are gonna collapse.
It's not about the team but the particular product for which the project was built.
If the project is not sustainable then it will crash no matter how good the team is.
There are many projects which have the same utility as others and all of them will probably get dumped.
2178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dumb plan? on: May 28, 2022, 01:28:10 PM
It seems that every three to four years cycle new altcoins always takes a position in top 20 list on coinmarketcap, those who are leading the top 20 of 2017 are done for right now, only very few remains, now it seems this is what's going to happen in 2024-2025 too, now tell me why investing in a new project a bad idea? Cos I plan to look into new projects for the future instead, what do you think?

It's quite simple. Invest in a project which solves something and addresses a new problem.
There are hundreds of projects out there which is addressing the same problem and solutions are already there for it.
Those projects never succeed in the long run and they are there just to bank of the users.
So invest in a project which you think is doing something new and has a great potential.
2179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB or ETH ? on: May 28, 2022, 01:13:42 PM
What's your ultimate choice? Or both?  Smiley

I would prefer both because both of them are really good coins and have good potential.
While Ethereum has greater potential because of it's utilities and marketcap binance coin is also well established because binance has over taken most of the crypto market.
In the long term both of these coins will give out great profits.

I thought bitcoin will hold it's value at $30k which will make ETH stay at $2000 level.
But seeing bitcoin currently dip below $29k and ETH below $1800 I think I made a bad choice.
But yeah, it was according to my analysis and I predicted that bitcoin will gain some traction in the weekend which will send ETH price above $2000.
Let's see what happens. Hope for the best.

I am complete ignorant in the matter of altcoins, but do you think LUNA crash was possible to be predicted/expected? And do you think we have more suspicious coins which could impact BTC price?
At the end we finally realized how many BTC were hold in Terra wallets - for me it was an insane amount.

I don't know if the LUNA crash was predicted earlier or not but as soon as the price went below $10 it was already in news by then.
Then I read what it's all about and it became evident to me that the coin is gonna collapse to zero and so it did.
But nobody would have been able to accurate predict the crash before it started dumping so hard obviously.
What happened was terrible and it just proves why investing in altcoins is such a huge risk.
Ethereum is probably the only altcoin for me which I can trust more than any other altcoin.
