...
This is not unique to the Trump campaign, or Republicans. If you find yourself on Creepy Joe Biden's email list, you should expect to receive just as many solication emails. I would expect Biden to try to rub your shoulders until you are willing to send him money.

Surely someone here is on some other candidate's spam list.  They should feel free to post their daily catch on this thread so that we can compare.

I had created an email address and got it on the Democrats' mailing lists. I received the same type of emails, that is promises to "match" any contribution I made and otherwise asking me to donate money. They came through at a much lower volume than the Trump emails, less than one per day.

Trump still needs to raise money to pay for legal fees related to contesting the election results. At this point, his election lawyers will become more expensive and they will be less willing to work on credit because this type of election-related litigation is a longshot at best, and the potential rewards (working in a winning administration) are low at this point.

NBC, CNN, AP all call it for Biden.

Election was like ripping a band aid off slowly.
A news outlet “calling” a race means nothing. It is the electoral college that determines who becomes president. There will likely be litigation that goes to the Supreme Court.

The media has gotten a lot wrong over the past four years, and I have no reason to believe they have gotten any better.
2183  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Election Results Speech: Here Are All The False Claims on: November 07, 2020, 06:40:31 AM

#2 - "PENNSYLVANIA"

Trump: “In Pennsylvania partisan Democrats have allowed ballots in the state to be received three days after the election and we think much more than that and they are counting those without any postmarks or any identification whatsoever.”

The Facts: The state supreme court, not “partisan Democrats”, ordered that ballots filled out before the end of election day could be received up to three days later and still be counted. The US supreme court examined the case and did not stand in the way of the three-day timeframe but may review the matter later. A number of other states have also made accommodations for the additional mailed ballots.

There are currently 5 democrats and 2 Republicans on the PA state supreme court.

The constitution is also very clear as to who has authority to set election rules; the state legislatures, and the PA law, that the PA state legislature passed, is clear, votes by mail must be received by 8 PM on election day, not 3 days later.

The above is in addition to the other falsehoods in the OP.

Both PA State and US Supreme Courts ruled that if a PA ballot was postmarked by election day and received within 3 days after, the vote counted.

So, that's what the rule.  Even if Trump says otherwise.
Your post is false. The US SC declined to take up the case prior to the election, which was a bad idea. The SCOTUS actually just ordered that ballots received after the statutory deadline should be both kept and counted separately.

I understand you are being paid to post propaganda talking points, but please try to stick to the facts.

That's too complicated. I don't think I'll ever tag an address as someone's official/staked address, so false-positives aren't really an issue. All I want to do is make it easier for the spambusters find out which addresses may be owned by each user.

Instead of looking for addresses on someone's 300+ pages post history, you can go to their Ninjastic user page, get a list of addresses and easily cross-check them with other users while doing your own research. That's why those tools were created.

It will be interesting if you also process the quotes for which the original post has been deleted. There's always a chance someone faked a quote that was never made, but I haven't seen this happen (yet).
I could do that:

please sir 35hK24tcLEWcgNA4JxpvbkNkoAcDGqQPsP

But now this address is linked to my profile and not to yours. The bot only cares about the actual author of the post (me). Cheesy
Someone who posts in the Reputation sub for example may have a lot of addresses listed in "all mentioned" addresses that do not belong to that person. This makes doing research difficult.

Adding filters as to which addresses are displayed can be resource-intensive, while only displaying addresses posted in posts that meet certain criteria would be substituting your judgment for others'.

The other addresses: all not mine either, but I've posted them several times (in a table).
Yeah, there isn't much more I can do to figure out what is really yours and what is not. People will need to look on the list and do their own research. Another thing I plan to add is priorize addresses on the big "staked addresses" topic.
There are certain subs in which people often post addresses belonging to others and in which they often post their own addresses.

If someone posts more than one address in a post, they are probably not posting any of their own addresses. (this would be difficult to automate) If someone posts an address in a signature/bounty campaign thread, it probably belongs to them.

In some subs, the likelihood of an address belonging to someone may depend on if they are the OP of the thread or not. For example, a lender may post the addresses they funded loans to in their lending thread.
2187  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: November 07, 2020, 03:28:43 AM

WI and MI have both been called for Biden.

AZ has been called for Biden as well, though it seems like this call may have been too early. News reports are saying that with the amount of absentee ballots Trump could still pull the state back. - If Biden ends up winning this, then NV can decide the fate of this election.

NV has not been called, it's close right now as they're counting the absentee ballots. I think Trump will pull through and win this.

I agree with the analysis about AZ and NV regarding the tourism industry and why they'll be a bit happier to turn to Trump regarding opening the economy.

GA is going to be tight, Pennsylvania as well. Friday will probably be when we hear about these.
A state being "called" only means that an entity has said that based on the available (almost always incomplete) information (despite what the NY Times wants you to believe), a candidate has a high probability of winning. Ultimately, in order for a candidate to win an election, all the legal votes need to be counted, and the secretary of state needs to certify the results. There is the possibility of litigation that may change the outcome of elections in states in which "all" the votes have been counted. For example, there are alligations that software caused 6,000 votes in MI cast for Trump to count for Biden, and this software is used in over 45 counties in MI.

There are still votes outstanding in AZ and NV, and the margins are slim enough in both states that it is probably inappropriate for any outlet to "call" either of these races.

Remember that Trump does not actually need to win 270 electoral college votes to win the election. All he needs to do is prevent Biden from getting 270 by December 23. If no one has 270 electoral college votes by Dec 23, the new Congress will vote on who becomes the next President, which each state's delegation gets one vote, and Republicans are favored in this regard. Even Mitt Romney is on Trump's side currently, so I would not expect Republicans to be voting for Biden in a congressional election for president.
2188  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: November 05, 2020, 06:43:21 AM

Trump still has a chance in AZ, as in NV. He could also possibly flip WI. MI seems less likely.

Trump has outperformed predictions across the board. The same is true for down-ballot races. Some were predicting Democrats to pick up as many as 15 House seats, and there was a prediction on election night that Democrats would pick up 5 House seats, however Republicans ended up gaining at least 5 House seats, and it seems likely they will flip as many as an additional 7 House seats. Democrats were also favored to flip the Senate, however, that also looks especially unlikely at this time.

I'm not optimistic at all. Seems like we're getting our hopes up for nothing. Fox News was the first org. to call AZ then AP called AZ. Fox covered this election fairly and I don't think they'd risk calling AZ early.

Nate Silver talked about it being too early to call which gave me hope but being down 3 points + is what bothers me.
I would say that NV or AZ going Trump's way is more likely than WI or MI. NV (and to a lesser extent, AZ) has an economy that is heavily based on tourism, and tourism is not possible when the country is locked down. Trump may perform better in Reno and Vegas than he might do in other cities because of the tourism employees voting Trump to avoid lockdown related layoffs and casinos going out of business that would happen under a Biden administration.

In AZ, it will really come down to Maricopa county. I understand he needs about 57% of the remaining vote in Maricopa county to stay competitive in AZ.

Flipping one of AZ, NV, WI or MI would likely put Trump back in the White House until 2024. It may come down to a court case making it to the SC. Trump can also technically still win even if he does not flip any of those states, but otherwise runs the table (takes PA, GA, and NC). If Trump were to stop any of AZ, NV, WI, or MI from casting their electrical votes, Biden would not make it to 270, and Congress would elect the President with each state getting one vote, and Republicans hold the advantage.
2189  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Antrim county Michigan fakes Biden votes???!!! on: November 05, 2020, 05:50:15 AM
I find it pretty funny that when Democrats lose, they just shrug and get over it - like a grown and mature adult would do.
Ummm, where have you been over the last 4 years? Clinton is still acting as if she won in 2016. It is a mainstream Democrat belief that Trump colluded with Russia, despite there being zero evidence to support this.

It appears there are likely some corrupt poll workers in MI. There were a number of vote dumps in which Biden received 100% of the vote. There is obviously something not right about that.

America is not the world-police.
While I agree with this, the above does not mean the rest of the world can do whatever they want without consequence. If a person on the forum is acting in a way I do not like, I may be uninclined to transact business with that person. This is very similar to what Trump was threatening to do with regard to Turkey. Trump has also gotten NATO allies to contribute to defense budgets, which should lead to any "police" action being lead by a broad collation rather than the US alone.
2191  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: November 03, 2020, 03:38:14 AM
We are with you TRUMP.  Cool

From Turkey.

I don't see your point about this. Are you trying to imply that if a country does not follow international norms, they should not be held accountable? Are you saying a country can take action to make the world more dangerous without consequence?

If anything the people of Turkey should be grateful that Trump is keeping the dictator of Turkey more in line. Otherwise, you will have Obama/Biden doing nothing with countries start gassing their own citizens.
2192  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Kamala Harris satisfy progressives? on: November 02, 2020, 12:52:04 AM
Two days before an election, Harris endorsed communism.

She is either trying to throw the election, trying to make excuses for her loss (maybe their internal polling shows something different than the public polls), or is previewing an invited Chinese invasion once Harris becomes president if Biden is elected.
2193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Nevous About Using the Core Wallet... on: November 01, 2020, 07:50:14 PM

The question remains can I connect Electrum to my node without using one of the Electrum servers or will it just be a standalone wallet?
You can create an electrum server and have your electrum client connect to that specific electrum server. You can also keep the fact that your node is an electrum server private if you choose.

You can also use electrum to sign transactions only, and use bitcoin core to create and broadcast your transactions. If you do this, electrum will not keep track of balances, and would not be connecting to any server.
2194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [TUTORIAL]getting a low-fee transaction unstuck by creating a CPFP with electrum on: November 01, 2020, 07:40:03 PM

2. Can I use cpfp to send back to my own address? Like, I send to my friend with low fee but later use cpfp using my own another new address as the child address? In this case, is the fee will be the same as rbf or higher?
Transactions have inputs and outputs. Many transactions that individuals send will have one output to whoever you are paying and a 'change' output back to yourself.

If your transaction has a change output, you can create a CPFP transaction using the change output as an input, and the output back to yourself. In this case, your CPFP transaction will have only one output.

If you send a transaction to your friend, and there is no change output (you send him the entire amount of all the inputs in the transaction, less transaction fees), if you want to create a CPFP transaction, your friend will have to create a CPFP transaction and pay the higher fee out of the coin he received from you.

The total fees you pay in a CPFP transaction will almost always be higher than you would pay with a Replace By Fee (RBF) because you are paying for two transactions with CPFP, while only one transaction with a RBF transaction.

I believe this is answering your question.
2195  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase vs Binance on: November 01, 2020, 07:26:33 PM
I would consider the two to have different target markets. CB appears to target smaller, retail traders/users, while binance targets more professional traders.

CB does have Coinbase Pro, which has fees that are more in line with Binance. I also understand that orders on coinbase (retail) are sent as market orders to CB pro, which makes it more likely that limit orders will fill on CB pro that might not normally expect to get filled quickly on other major exchanges.
2196  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Amy Coney Barrett [Supreme Court nominee] on: November 01, 2020, 07:20:12 PM

An originalists view of the constitution is the only interpretation that protects civil liberties and ACB fits that category.

A true “originalist” would need to chuck stare decisis out the window, and run a wrecking ball through—I think probably most SCOTUS decisions, Federal legislation, and Federal regulations since the Roosevelt era.  To start with.

stare decisis allows citizens to make decisions based on what they know the law to be. It is harmful when something that has been legal for many years, even after trips to the SC, and all of a sudden it is no longer legal.

I find 'absolutism' to be extreme and undesirable. I am generally opposed to 'always' or 'never' standpoints on things. I believe it is a sign that someone with these types of views is unwilling to consider alternate viewpoints, and that these standpoints will lead to unintended consequences.
2197  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [BET] Trump or not Trump 2020, eddie13 vs suchmoon on: November 01, 2020, 06:57:48 PM
Only a few days out, so some concluding remarks on this election cycle in regards to the campaigns.

I'll start with Trump because he is obviously the extreme underdog.

If Trump loses:

I think his campaign was ran horribly. His last 1.5 weeks of campaigning was based on a Hunter Biden story which correctly points out that Hunter used his dad's last name to make bank across the globe. But, who cares? The media would never run with it,
There is some evidence that Joe Biden was personally profiting off his Hunter's deals. This means that Joe Biden formulated his positions (as a Senator), and US policy (as Vice President) based on money his family was receiving.

Joe Biden had been a senator for 40 years when he became Vice President. If Joe Biden had refused to be influenced by money his family was receiving over 40 years, Hunter's ability to make money off of his family name would be near zero. Over time, the Biden family would develop a reputation for either changing stances based on money received by his family, or not doing this.

I think the real scandal is the censorship of the story, and the media's refusal to report on it. Some have questioned if the coverage of this story (or more specifically, the lack thereof) is an indication that the media will become defacto state-media if Biden is elected.

If Biden loses:

In my opinion, it's because of two reasons.

1.) Kamala Harris
2.) Splitting the lane with the moderates and the left.

It appears that Biden made a deal with the devil (the far left wing of his party) once he got nominated. It appears that he is trying to avoid the same anger from Sanders' supporters when Bernie was denied the nomination in 2016.

Any recommended atomic swap services?

Is swap.lightning-network.ro legit?
https://1ml.com/node/03c492f46d8e0a6256bb9c5c42f2aed24717f70a3f39e0961419dee511688e3110
From a technical perspective, it is difficult to tell if a btc <--> lighting btc exchange service is legitimate. You will have to do your own research and use your own good judgment before using one of these services. I understand these services are not closing/opening channels with you to exchange coin for lighting coin. Using them will require you to trust the business you are dealing with.

There are also services that will open a channel with you that has inbound capacity (so you can receive lighting coin) in exchange for a fee. Similarly, you will need to trust this service to follow through on their promises.
2199  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happened here? jochen-hoenicke.de on: November 01, 2020, 05:36:52 AM

As you see there is a break/drop of everything and it's very unusual size for every sat range too. Is this something related to actual pool or the site owner had a break of connection or maybe something gone off in his hosting/domain?

Looking at the chart itself (without looking at block data), I can tell you this is a glitch in the software the operator of jochen-hoenicke.de is running and is not a reflection of the state of the network. A node's mempool size will decrease each time a block is found. The mempool will decrease more quickly when two blocks are found in quick succession. After several blocks are found in quick succession, the mempool size will gradually increase.

In order for the line down on the chart to be real, at least 20 blocks would have had to have been found in the time one datapoint is collected on the graph. The line on the chart going back up is simply not how the network behaves.

I reviewed found blocks from Oct 29, and in fact there were not blocks found that resulted in all those pending transactions being confirmed at nearly once.
2200  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does ChipMixer make money? on: November 01, 2020, 05:23:36 AM
....They invest money in advertising -> advertising attracts customers -> customers generate profit -> profit is greater than costs.
This is how business works.
Except that you missed the point where Chipmixer doesn't charge any specific or fix fees to their customers unlike other businesses. It's "Pay what you want" as mentioned in the previous comment. Other businesses would have shutdown in the first month of operation using the same model.

Paying a voluntary fee to CM will result in their customers receiving a greater value from their services. For most other businesses, paying a different/higher fee does not in itself cause the business' product to improve.
