up until now i dont know if bitcoin can be categorized as currency,,it just commodity without physical like gold..
if bitcoin a currency there there will be a paper bitcoin,,or anything that has physical..
To be a physical coin it should require lots of money to produce. Because it requires lots of metals and at least 1 country should implement it. But as a digital currency it is much easier and you can buy almost anything with the bitcoin debit card. |

How safe is it?
The price has been increased past few days so i think that it's not a good time to buy. But you say to invest for long term, i don't think that you can make a good profit only by a single bitcoin. It is safe as much as you care about, store offline and don't leave in exchange. |

what about the weight? a quick search say 1 kq, but maybe it's wrong anyway it's very heavy to carry around, not practical at all, something which can not compete with bitcoin by any mean You are not shipping that to think about the weight. In the bitcoin world you should hide the private key (mostly in a paper) so the same situation well no with bitcoin you can hide tons of wallet back up, in a small pen drive, which can be used with a small tablet for example with gold you need to carry soemthing that may weight up to 3kg or more, not something with which i would be comfortable about Practically yes, you can own millions of dollars value in a piece of paper that have you bitcoin wallet details. You just made me to change the secret "safe case" and bring it to a pen that has USB to store the .dat backup. Bitcoin is heavy and the transfer (buy and sell) to others takes a lot of time comparing to bitcoin which is in few seconds. |

If there is no ups and downs that mean that bitcoin price is unchangeable.
Even the USD EUR or any other currencies have their ups and downs.

In the past few years there had been many hacks that a lot of users were affected.
Personally i lost few btc in exchange by trusting them to exchange alt coin to bitcoin.
yeahh iknow some of that : the biggest scamer "mintpal" , also swisscex, and Biggest Bitcoin exchanger Mt.Gox im not trust 100% at exchanger because i never hold long time my bitcoin/altcoin at exchanger, i use PC wallet (altcoin) and mycellium wallet (for bitcoin) It's not all about how long do you keep your bitcoin to an exchange, but if you trust them or not. In my case it happen in few hours, withdrawed all the earning and sent to the exchanger to exchange into bitcoins. After few hours the website went down, and after few days i saw in google news that the site has been "hacked" and the bitcoin were stolen from the "cold" wallet. - this was bter. |

That will happen when there will be a big price crash. I won't quit and sell all my bitcoin at that time, maybe that would be only to make panic to bitcoin users. Maybe i would buy a bitcoin because the price is cheap  and wishing the price to get higher. |

Investing is a good thing and it is very risky so a deep research is always needed.
I want to do the same thing. But when i see the possibilities to invest and do a research about those in all the cases have or create doubts so decide to not invest. Can you do a post here with only one name of a possible good opportunity? Every business which act with bitcoins is new and is possible to have faith or to do a research about it because there is nothing to analyse. Maybe exist good opportunities but they ask for much bitcoins to invest. And mostly are totally new. So doubtful. What is the quantity of bitcoins which you are willing to invest? I made a deep research for few months about an website/company which i invested later in. After few months i got my profit but my mistake was investing all the money(inc. profit) again. So the website/company ends by scamming all the users including me, so often it depends on your luck. |

Because you are doing something (an action) to earn that, so i don't have any method.
I consider free bitcoins when i suddenly see a transaction on my address that i earned bitcoins.
