I used to think Bitcoin needed more advertising. Now I just wish Bitcoin would stay out of the limelight for a couple of years. We're getting enough exposure right now.

Interesting, I've seen those kind of debates before. The "any news is good news crowd" believes Bitcoin is just money but they don't seem to understand that isn't true for the average simpleton. Bitcoin isn't "just money" for them. It's this new computer tech thingie that new age criminals are making a lot of money using. It a way to steal that will put you under a government microscope if you're connected to it.

Are those irrational and uninformed viewpoints? Of course they are. In the world of public opinion and advertising, the truth is seldom useful.

I would like to see devices coming out on the market, that says "Bitcoin enabled" like Intel did with the "Pentium inside" type of marketing. The computer should already have

some sort of wallet provider or software bundled to help users with the creation of their first Bitcoin address & private key. They should make it idiot proof... with lots of online

support, if they get stuck. That will put Bitcoin on the map... and in every computer being sold. {Dell already accept BTC, just take it a step further}

After all, if you don't spread the knowledge of an existence, the existence is in turn unknown, labeling it useless.

What about spreading the word to the younger generation? Children are known to imitate knowledge, and spread it continuously. I am a firm believer in broadcasting and wide advertising. Right now, I'm trying to create handmade merchandise like hand knitted sweaters with the bitcoin symbol embroidered onto them, hand sculpted bitcoin symbol necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and even handmade dolls of a mascot I drew. I'm hoping these fun items will help spread education for the digital currency until it's the number one used currency. What do you think?

I kinda like your idea Wink and i think it would be much better if somehow Childrens in schools and colleges are being tought about bitcoin network and technology, the advanceges and disadvantages of bitcoins,in short everything about bitcoin. This way it would be much easier to spread information about bitcoin to the new generation..Don't you think? Cheesy
Mhm, yeah. Good! Some kids already work, believe it or not!

I think the younger generation have already started learning about it but I don't think they will learn to appreciate bitcoin as most of them probably would not have started to work to earn a living. Let time takes its course. When they are old enough and once they got into school and learn more about economics and starting to realize and understand the concept of money, they will start to appreciate. Probably right now, bitcoin to them is like a token to buy more steam games.
You're wrong because there are children who already have their own businesses.

That would be a great idea, yeah we need more ways to introduce bitcoin to the world, but the point is to educate people what is bitcoin and how it works ? i think movie is one of best way, just advertise bitcoin to the movie and it's good if the movie was sci-fi genre, when the actor or actres transaction with bitcoin in that movie, moreover if the movie was box office i think thats gonna be epic

I will go further with this story of the movie. A movie that mix the invention of bitcoin and the story of its inventor. Satoshi Nakamoto it is really a mysterious being or group of beings which fit (fits) totally with bitcoin for their being both specific and unique. A good movie make and produced by Steven Spielberg or James Cameron. I bet that it will increase the number of bitcoiners and the price of bitcoin in the sky.

Of course I do. I see some people here think that BTC has had alot of negative advertising already, but from my experience most of the people, I mean even educated people, still heard nothing about BTC. I know its hard to imagine that anybody still doesn't heard about BTC being on reddit or on bitcointalk, but take just one step outside  Smiley and you'll see it yourself.

Just one example from my life. Just yesterday I talked to a fried who studies Economy at the University and he told me that his lecturer, a professor, never heard about BTC. Can you imagine that? Professor of Economy! let alone simple people.

People really want to rush bitcoin adoption, and I don't really see why.

It would make sense for the get rich quick part, but let the world learn about btc themselves, once they know what it is and what it can do I'm sure people will come around to it. No need to push it in their faces as if we are trying to sell shit. Smiley

Education, not advertising. An awful lot of people have heard the word now. Very, very few have a clue what it actually entails.

we surely need more ways of advertising bitcoins all over the world even in the smallest countries as doing that would attract a lot of new users who would be willing to buy bitcoins

By integrating the bitcoin as a payment method in most popular e-commerce shop.
This would be a big advertisement for bitcoin, and no need to spend extra cash for advertising.
It would be the best alternative method instead advertising in tv, billboards etc...

It is a race my friend. We need to get market share before too many Bankcoins come onto the scene. If people use Bitcoin first, they will not swap to Bankcoins giving them the

same functionality. We are also trying to grab a portion of the VISA / Mastercard / PayPal / Western Union / MoneyGram markets.  Wink

If and when we take only a small portion of these markets, we will grow and everyone will benefit.  Grin ....We need the Bitcoin logo on every t-shirt out there, to build the

brand.

Yes,I do believe there is still much to do for advertising of Bitcoin. What I believe we need to do now is to start physically explain the people to make them aware of the Bitcoin and advantages of it what they can have. What has been done so far is online and the time has come to advertise this way too as I stated above.
