21943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Carve a private key into a stone? on: June 24, 2015, 11:26:21 AM
i am not sure but i have heard about carving bitcoin address and private key on a piece of wood that is resistant and you can keep it for years.
but i think all of this things don't attract much customer and are just for bitcoin enthusiasts Smiley

but to add to the discussion the best material for this purpose is aluminium, because of the weight, cost and corrosion resistance that it offers and also the shiny surface that can be hardened to prevent any scratches. you can use stainless steel too but it would get heavier but it can be worked out at the same cost.

edit: i think this is the image of the wallet that i have seen a long time ago: http://www.offlinewallets.com/images/bitcoin-wood-wallet.jpg
21944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC in your country on: June 24, 2015, 11:18:58 AM
i dont imagine if we use bitcoin whole of our life. think about it. morning you buy your newspaper with bitcoin, and then maybe buy a couple of coffee near river. with bitcoin. and after your coffee your car need some fuel. and you pay with bitcoin. its very simple. and you just need a little mobile wallet. no bank, no robbery, no delay, no wait... seems very simple.

Mobile wallet? I guess you already can download the apps to your mobile but to make it useful I dont think it still has a long way to go and if you want

to send money I guess you also need delay and there is some confirmation time to make your bitcoin arrive at the destination so yes it will take some

time to make all of this happen
of course you can download a wallet on your mobile and use bitcoin with ease. but the problem is, there is no place to use bitcoin in.
take the examples he gave, in the morning there is no news-stance that accepts bitcoin, the coffee shops don't accept bitcoin, i can't put gas in my car and pay with bitcoin,....
and if there is places that accept bitcoin for any of the above examples their numbers are so low that doesn't really count.
21945  Other / Off-topic / Re: LastPass Hacked on: June 24, 2015, 11:14:17 AM
i can never understand the need for services like lastpass.

it is not like i have 1000 different passwords that i need remembering. there is only a handful of important passwords that i can remember and write down on a piece of paper just in case i forgot.

besides, what i don't encrypt myself is not gonna be safe on the cloud anyways.
21946  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many Bitcoins are lost forever? on: June 24, 2015, 11:05:45 AM
interesting question. would be great if we could know the exact answer to that though.

i personally have lost ~0.01 to a brainwallet address that i have created once but forgot the password to as time has passed.

i also wanted to add this bitcoin address that is eating bitcoins and make them "lost forever".

it has 1.98BTC so far!!
21947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: June 24, 2015, 10:58:54 AM
I will rank up next activity update so Im expecting more profit now in growing my bitcoins.
I want to become legendary or heroes member as soon as i can. I see the fixed/month campaigns have very good payout to their member Shocked. But i think it takes 1 year to make my account rank up until legendary member
legendary member needs 775 activity so you will become legendary in 69 times the activity period which is 14 day (a total of 677 days)

by then who knows that if there still is any signature campaign that is paying out. Cheesy
21948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Didn't Satoshi Think About Instant Transactions? on: June 24, 2015, 10:54:40 AM
I believe companies like coinbase make their transactions "off blockchain" so they happen instantly, then push all transactions out afterwards.  someone correct me if i'm wrong
as far as i know wallets like coinbase that are working off the chain have instant transaction / confirmation as long as both recipient and sender have that wallet. and the issue that OP talks about still exist if one of them does not have that wallet (has other wallet than coinbase for example).

but this has nothing to do with bitcoin. it is like using a bank. you don't actually send the money (physically) you send a bunch of numbers and they receive those numbers and it adds to their balance.

21950  Economy / Economics / Re: A currency or investment? on: June 23, 2015, 09:03:32 AM
i would love to be able to consider bitcoin as a currency but so far i used it as a way of investment.
invest my money in bitcoin by buying when the price is low and store it, additionally i did the same thing you talked about in the OP for a while but now i focused all my attention to trading altcoin.
so i can say that i pretty much use bitcoin as an investment and a way to earn money.
21951  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: (Parody?) Elmer FUD: You MUST read this if you are holding any Bitcoins!!! on: June 23, 2015, 04:57:20 AM
~~~
Now do you understand why Bitcoin is/was and always will be, just a silly toy for "libertarians" and wanna-be economic terrorists?  Tongue
...or maybe I am missing something and Bitcoin is still an exciting project?
then why did you waste approximately 50 months of your life on a forum that is related to a project that is what you say it is.
21952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocoin's and the future! and top 50 of the best coin's on: June 23, 2015, 04:22:01 AM
i see many topics about what is the best coin for the future
but is there a future for cryptocoin's?
I make a list of the 50 best coins
44 to go
1 Bitcoin
2 Litecoin
3 Dogecoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=361813.0
4 Guldencoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=554412.0
5 Digibyte https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.0
6 Megacoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=240861.0
since you included bitcoin in the list i say it is obvious that bitcoin will have a bright future.
and as far as other coins go, i believe there can be an alternative altcoin that have the potential to coexist side by side with bitcoin and have a bright future. but so far i can not see this potential in any of them. but i haven't lost hope in altcoins yet!
21953  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need help keeping my bitcoin on: June 23, 2015, 04:14:13 AM
first answer me there:
1) how much bitcoin do you have? (no need to give number, is it large amount or like faucet payouts that you gathered)
2) what do you plan to do with them?
determining these two can make you choose from paper wallet to an online wallet.
21954  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Legality or Illegality of using other peoples computer to mine coins on: June 23, 2015, 04:05:39 AM
it is illegal and your visitors are going to find this out eventually and that is the time when you are going to get into so much trouble. because you were abusing your visitors trust and using their computer without their knowledge and agreement.
21955  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to get legit free btc? on: June 23, 2015, 04:03:13 AM
So Im obviously really new here. I`ll be editing my journey to btc, as I`m new to all this..
I saw and read a bunch of threads like this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1006151.0
only to find limited to some options, but cant do some cause im obviously new to join a campaign.
since you are new to bitcoin, first of all start reading about bitcoin and the importance of securing your coins.
spend some time on the forum and read the posts to get the whole idea and learn the ways to earn bitcoin.
after this time has passed and you became informed enough, your rank has risen too and you can join a good signature campaign and earn more bitcoin.
21956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it worth to mine with my old computer on: June 23, 2015, 03:54:55 AM
wow...1-2 btc for a Legendary acc
how long time will it take to become Legendary?
coz i really can't understand the calculation of activity
read the meta section on ranks: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0
and i say, you already have an account with 14 account, hang around and built that up yourself. and if you want to buy an account you can but a full or Sr. member which are cheeper.
and for cloudmining i suggest you read this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.msg9697654#msg9697654 you'll get good information there.
and if you are interested in mining so much, you can look into mining altcoins and selling them for bitcoin.
21957  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Do you still really use faucet? on: June 23, 2015, 03:47:59 AM
i only used faucets when i just started with bitcoin and the price was high, even then faucets were not worth the time and effort.
but now i rarely visit faucets, just to cover some transaction fees Cheesy
and i sometimes visit freedogeco.in to top up my reddit account for tipping Wink
21958  Economy / Gambling / Re: POLL: Lottery Question Regarding Guaranteed 2,000,000 m฿ Jackpot on: June 23, 2015, 03:40:32 AM
i love a fair and true lottery. they are fun and i think i would buy 5-10 picks since i like to try my chance.
but unfortunately i haven't seen any good lottery so far. and honestly i feel like 2000BTC is too good to be true.
21959  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♛ CrimeDice.com ✣ Social Dice Platform ✣ All Countries ♛ BANK ROLL on: June 23, 2015, 03:35:42 AM
the site still has bugs
i claimed 500 faucet > started the Automatic Betting > no change, standard martingale settings > the balance doesn't go higher than 507
for instance i lose 2 satoshi it goes to 505, then win 4 it goes to 507
21960  Economy / Gambling / Re: CS:GO gambling ? on: June 23, 2015, 03:24:26 AM
i only play dota 2 and so far i only saw two places that do item gambling and those are d2l, which you say it is borring! and gosugamers.net
gosugamers has CS:GO section maybe it has item betting for that too.
