I downloaded the wallet, but I keep getting the following error message when I try to open it. The program can't start because mingwm10.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. Any ideas on how I might be able to fix this? I'm running Windows 7 Unlimited OEM (64-bit). I solved this by downloading mingwm10.dll and coping it into the same folder as yacoin-qt.exe, but AFIK this is just a very crude fix.

Maybe it is a little un-intuitive, however, it is how it should be and it becomes apparent when you understand the underlying concepts (that's why this feature is for "experts only").
A little? I really like the way you handle the transactions, but the UI is terrible. List mode is IMO useless and shows wrong adresses, tree mode is crying aloud for spamming the forum with stupid questions and the fact that you have to explain it to someone that already knows about change adresses makes it rather "Developers only" than Experts. CC isn't rocket science and could replace the current system even for the novice. That would be a cool feature that really sets YAC apart from all other cryptos. My ideas: remove list mode and expand the tree mode make it standard to use show all adresses I know this is more work than you thought, but I belive CC should be part of the client and not just an addon. EDIT: My previous post was never about the way you handle transactions. It was about the way you handle the user. You expect him to know about CC in detail but he shouldn't see change adresses. Then confuse him with tree vs list and why an adress could have 2 balances. EDIT2: If you don't want to show change adresses you could add a "no change, return to origin" option. This would also be useful for paperwallets.

Those change addresses are also hidden in vanilla yacoin-qt, so it's working as intended.
That's kinda like CC light ... This might be acceptable (I don't like it) on vanilla, but not on "Expert" Mode. Once people see this they will check their balances on yacexplorer and freak out. This is so damm non intuitive and has to change! I'd rather have no CC than hundred stupid threats about it.

Joe, would it make sense to clone the various miner clients into the yacoin repository so that there is one central place where good, working copies of the CPU and GPU miners can be found? Even if they're not the latest version, it's still something...
Unless he wants to check the source of all miners this is a bad idea. It doesn't bother me when someone puts a walletstealer in some miner, but if such thing ends on the official repository it's a PR nightmare.

I found another issue: I was sending some Spare change arround* and somehow the balance of an adress was bigger than on yacexplorer.tk. So I tried to send these bonuscoins to another adress and to my surprise it got accepted by the network. Just bevor I wanted to abuse this with a bigg... ehm honestly report the bug I noticed that I had the privatkeys to the donator adress although it wasn't listed. In short: The CC should also list hidden adresses since it uses them sometimes or better there shouldn't be any hidden adresses in the client at all. http://yacexplorer.tk/tx/f29e758b955348cf0ef1c4524e15d8e20719cc5c2d3f744c4da9f8b3b598e10b#i0 http://yacexplorer.tk/tx/e89e336e92da2c1caca900d6d868fd498e289c64e425ef744b570fbf28878399#i0 You might be familiar with one of the adresses in the first transaction
EDIT: I knew about change adresses but thought I had used a different adress to fund it.

Wallet startup is damn slow on my side regardless of if datadir is on SSD or classic HDD. It used to start fast but it is getting worse with time.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Same here taking forever to load block index, I am running ssd raid 0 under Opensuse 12.3 Yep, but since I'm running it on a netbook with truecrypt and some other altcoins I haven't thought about it. YAC seems to be by far the slowest.

first rule about anoncoin - don't talk about anoncoin
Well, this might be a nigtmare for it's PR Department, but on the other hand Anoncoin seems to be the only crypto wit a PR Department... Great idea for a great coin.

When the smoke from the "Great (and not so great) Coin Flood of 2013" clears, I believe: Yacoin will still exist. Primecoin will still exist. Anoncoin will still exist. Everything else is just smoke... What the hell is Anoncoin?

I no longer hold any appreciable amount of YAC (well, other than a few thousand laying around somewhere) and haven't for quite a while.
That's definitely something I don't like to hear. Why did you decide to sell your coins? As far as I recall you missed the lauch but bought significant ammounts later on. I understand that people can be anoying, but that'd be no reason for me to be not invested yourself. Maybe I'm overvaluing YACs features, but I still see them far better than some altcoins with a far higher marketcap. A nicer GUI, some minor fixes and Yac is good to go, or am I missing something important here? Nevertheless loosing the main developer (again) will be a big hit to it.

Nice find! This should definitely be added to the wiki.
No. It should be fixed. Actually I like the minimum PoS reward. 0.05YAC are currently less than a tenth of a cent so it wouldn't change anything. Could someone troll the network by making a lot of small adresses and a good network connection?

That's what the input locking is for in the most recent release of Bitcoin-Qt.
What is input locking? Haven't found anything about it ...

I'm suggesting that we put together a public, searchable database that cross references people's identities with their bitcoin addresses. Sort of like a yellow pages for bitcoin.
Terrible idea. Usually a shop generates a new adress for every customer to track payments since you don't know the customers sending adress it's impossible to track who payed for their 1BTC shoes and who didn't. This problem could be solved with some technical efford, but as long as everybody can generate a new adress it's pointless since it proves nothing. On the other hand it is dangerous to have a database for kidnappers to search victims who are capable of anonymous payment of 1000BTC. Actually I wonder why kidnappers don't use bitcoins yet ...

Since you already have the adresses listed it would be useful feature to optout singe adresses for PoS.
Since you are in control of inputs to be used for transactions there is no need to reserve balance or whatever, just do not use inputs you want to be used for stake generation. If all such inputs are on the same address than name address STAKE DO NOT TOUCH or something and that's it. I meant someting different: If I don't want an adress to be used on PoS I can't (easily) prevent that from happening. I don't want my spare change adress to generate PoS and there might be situations where you want to have some funds aviable.

Anyway, is WindMaster around? We need him to update official unofficial YACoin GitHub, if your Coin Control version passes tests. Given that CC is optional and does not affect "classic" client at all unless user decides to use CC, there is no good reason to maintain two GitHubs or whatever.
Yes, it's optional as in the original Bitcoin version by cozz. You don't see anything until you turn it on in the options. I'll wait until there are some positive responses to this build and then open a pull request in WindMaster's repo if that's what the YAC community wants. I don't see any reason why this feature sould be optional, so what advantages has an optout? There has to be a in-dept analysis and testing anyways bevore it gets into the official client as optional or not. Since you already have the adresses listed it would be useful feature to optout singe adresses for PoS.

I'm working on porting Coin Control into Yacoin-QT client. All bounties welcome Great, I'm really looking forward to this. The compile finished successfully, so it should work.
Shit. Couldn't you have written that a little bit earlier and saved me some yacs? I tought someone might be already working on that but why didn't I trust my instincts ... Just for curiousity, wouldn't you have announced your update to Yacoin-qt today anyways?

There was a similar high bounty for making Coin Control compatible with Yacoin.
Where is that? I think we need an official YAC bounty threat first. There is one at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=200311.120, but it seems not in use much... I will offer a 25,000 YaCoin bounty for anyone to make this feature if it is even possible...
In this threat that might get lost, so if you serious about that start a new threat so more people find it. I'd also add 5k to it, but at first we have to bundle all bounties for CC to see how much is actually on it. Maybe it would be a good idea to also put up the bounty in BTC to attract programmers outside of altcoins...

I am looking to invest a sizable bounty to boost YaCoin, but I'm having trouble coming up with an idea. What is the best product that the YaCoin economy needs right now?
Supply a product or service which can only be paid for with YAC. Demand will drive price up and boost the overall YAC economy. For example, buy an iPhone on ebay for $200, offer to sell it for $150 in equivalent YAC currency. Your bounty is the $50 you lose on the deal, and the upside is the increase in interest and liquidity, as well as from miners. -Michael So one guy once spends 150$ in YAC and exchanges them immediately ... I belive YAC's killer app might be somewhere on micropayments for websites or such as an alternative or addition to advertising rewards. That would require an efficient JAVA miner, but as far as I heard that can't be done. Maybe it's still worth a shot in the dark to see if an inefficient one is suitable ... If you find a good idea to bounty on I'd probably plege on that too so shoot me a PM when you have one.
