281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some tips if you are making an alt-coin on: June 06, 2013, 08:10:03 PM
Don't pre-mine crazy amounts.
What about "don't premine at all"?
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][YAC] Yacoin Network Graphs! on: June 06, 2013, 02:40:38 PM
Top 10 addresses by final balance:
I started a threat on yacointalk about these huge wallets, but it would be nice to have more infos on that. Could you please add a graph showing (f.e Top 100 or even more) of the biggest adresses. The numbers for themselve seem to be useless but distribution charts of some sort could be useful.

EDIT: Oh and by the way, keep up the good work!
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [PPC] Bounty Project Discussion on: June 04, 2013, 04:22:11 PM
It would be a good idea for the OP to generate dedecated adresses to the bounties so people can easier donate directly and he handles the coins.

It's also kinda hard to figure out how much bounty is for an retailer atm and just because someone says he's going to plege means nothing if you don't know him.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising Altcoin for the future of mining? on: June 04, 2013, 11:30:20 AM
There is no promising altcoin 'couse world does not need it.
The only hypothetical use of alt-coins in the future is to provide anonymity for illegal bitcoins - BTC/ALTC and vise-versa conversions on stocks like btc-e.
This argument is very week and also applies to bitcoin it the past.
Just because you have some bitcoin (or fiat) it doesn't mean nobody is going to use or need a different system exept for money laundring. BTC has enough flaws to make it useless if some really good alternative shows up.

MyCoin (MC)
I'm not recommending YAC cos he's asking for which coin will BTC and LTC miners migrate to, and that doesn't apply unless they plan to use their expensive graphic chips to run extremely fancy CPU monitors.
If YAC really succeeds it might even become the miner unfriendliest* crypto. New miners who want to mine their first YACs don't care if they pay more on their electricity bill than on an exchange. Botnet operators don't care about costs they care about returns and if there is a market for them in the future they will mine it at dumping prices.

*) shorterm for miners who can't wait for some times. Like they are burned today on yacs.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this real? 8 hours mining YAC on: June 03, 2013, 06:05:15 PM
Anytime a new crypto currency is created, early AWS/botnet miners try and sell it immediately at 5 ltc per 1k of x-coin. No buyers, now, they were burned.
Well, they are stupid and deserve to be burned if they act like this.

I never understood why someone would mine a new coin if they don't belive in it. Mining your 100k probably wasn't a problem for you, but buying so many is usually impossible witout paying far more than they were worth at that moment. There is no way to get so many new altcoins witout spending more than they are worth.
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most promising Altcoin for the future of mining? on: June 03, 2013, 05:37:55 PM
MyCoin (MC)

That's most popular answer on threads like this one  Grin

Strange that people rather mine their coins insted the most profitable and exchange.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ok Cryptsy - lets add helpful info to fix it - I will start with a 100% fix. on: June 02, 2013, 07:22:45 PM
I don't know why YAC is on that list, but that's a question probably everybody would ask about the coin they are involved with.

Wohl eher 6 Wochen+. Man sollte Mt.Gox meiden. Sie sind unehrlich und inkompetent. Erinnert an Butterflylabs.
Unehrlich?
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes altcoins valuable? on: June 02, 2013, 12:12:44 PM
I will never support a coin with a premine.

I disagree.
Althought I hate the premined coins of today I belive a fair premine is very beneficial for an altcoin. By fair I mean that there are fixed prices and ammounts to sell them at exchanges. f.e first premined 10.000 ATC will be sold for 0.001BTC (limit order) each and the money won't just go to the developers or just very limited if it's a huge success.

The reward will be used by an foundation to compensate first the expenses*2 (hosting,domains,...) to early supporters and at last to  new inovations. If a developer wants to make serious money nobody stops him to be an early adopter.

Example:
If someone donated 1000LTC at the beginning it wouldn't have made much difference for anyone, but 1000LTC with a limit order of 0.03BTC is serious money and motivates everyone to improve the crypto in the beginning.

Keine Garantie.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes altcoins valuable? on: June 01, 2013, 09:17:24 PM
even yac just replaces sha2 with sha3.  no big deal.  still uses the same crappy peer to peer implementation, still uses the same crappy wallet.  that coin bay far is the most innovative but is still lightyears from being innovative.
I don't see why this isn't sufficient for YAC to succeed. People here usually see crypto as code, but the advantage of mining on standard PCs is huge. I haven't seen such an huge improvement jump on any other altcoin.

If they wanted it to be a pump and dump coin, the are pretty bad at it Grin
Or they just wait untill there is enough demand to dump their coins.
Just waiting a little bit longer makes them more valuable. That proves nothing.

Premining is never acceptable.* If they really belived in it they could mine for themselves and still make a fortune if the coin succeeds. At first there isn't much competition on a new altcoin and beeing a premined crypto scares a lot of people away.

*maybe if the coins will be sold at predefined prices and the money goes to charity.

28. I wanted to find a "hole" in bitcoin, as I fought about it as a ponsi sheme.
Seems like the first confession that Silkroad brought them to bitcoin.
Seriously, check your grammar! Three mistakes in one sentence is too much.
295  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How old are you and what brought you into Bitcoin? on: June 01, 2013, 03:52:15 PM
51, and i plan on using the coins to pay for my shady activities with ladies of the night.

LOL!
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How old are you and what brought you into Bitcoin? on: June 01, 2013, 03:46:33 PM
23, and the mediahype when btc hit 100 USD.

I haven't burned myself or made some serious returns yet. Never mined anything or have any deeper knowlege about programming.

To your son: I don't know, but it paid for your PhD at Harvard.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would the US military fund itself with bitcoin? on: June 01, 2013, 01:54:05 PM
They wouldn't have to change much.

At the moment the us invades states if they don't accept USD for oil (f.e iraq) and soon they might invade if they don't accept USD for bitcoin. No real change there.
