221  Other / Meta / Re: Merit sources should be increase in no. on: April 07, 2018, 05:27:38 AM
Hello everyone,

Average registrations per day:    466.93
Average posts per day:    8571.87
Average topics per day:    345.21
Link to source:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

There are only 80 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 17800 sMerit per 30 day,
here is link:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=sources

Hence,It is not feasible for 80 people(merit sources) to review such(8571) no. post on a daily basis,
So, this is my humble request to the moderator/administrator of the forum that there is need to increase the no. Of merit sources.

of the 8000 posts 90% of them will be shit, so I think its fine as it is fella.
I am also agree with your opinion, but how can we decide without seeing them.Atleast we have enough resource ,so we can atleast review all of them properly. After that we can decide ,it is good post or not.

80 sources/8000 posts = 100 posts a day.. give it a chance to work before suggesting any changes as a thinly veiled way of asking for merits

I have only received 50 sMerits to distribute from the day one as a merit source. fella now so far I have received 2 sMerits in April. not all sources get equal amounts of sMerit. some humble members like BTCforJoe distributed more than me. merit source is just a name, I'm not really helping. I don't know if I have misused my source merits for not getting more or I'm just not trusted. I don't merit my friends like other sources.
I'm running out of sMerit so that's all I can give for now. I hope you accumulate more merit so that you can help other low ranking members who are having a hard time ranking up but really deserves it instead of those shitposters who only rank up because of merit farming. I always encounter you to most of the threads that I post in so I can say that you're an active member/merit source and given the chance that you can have more sMerit, you will surely help those deserving members.
222  Economy / Economics / Possible effect of potential billionaire investor? on: April 07, 2018, 05:10:48 AM
Most of you have probably heard about George Soros a billionaire who is reportedly taking an interest in cryptocurrency trading. Just before this event, he's been negative on bitcoin, calling it a bubble and etc, but with his sudden interest now in trading with his $26 billion assets, I guess we could probably say that he saw the potential of cryptocurrencies.

How do you think will this affect the market and all the user of cryptos? Can we expect a price spike in the market then after a while, a sudden downtrend movement again?
223  Economy / Economics / Re: The lack of financial education on: April 07, 2018, 04:50:41 AM
I think that the lack of financial education is caused by lack of student interest in economics. Self-discipline is the key to manage our finances well. Financial education will benefit only a person able to control their needs.
Ony those students whose course is related to economics will get the chance to learn about economics at school and only a handful of students taking different courses will study Economics at their own will. We all know that not all will be interested in learning and have a deeper understanding of Economics. Schools teach the basic of it tho, but it is up to us to know more of it so that we can use it in our everyday life. One cannot expect to be spoonfed by all necessary information.
224  Economy / Economics / Re: its not about how much you invested, its when you should invest? on: April 06, 2018, 09:11:25 AM
Off cause it dose not really matter how much you invest but what matters his much patient do you have to wait in selling of your investment, buying at January and selling it off for a cheap price or lost out of fear is no investment and buying at April and holding your investment until the price is above your cost price before selling is an investment.
How much you invest and the timing you make an investment both play important roles in your success on earning a decent amount of profits. Although you can have a higher chance of getting an ROI and more if you time your investment right. That's why it is important that you analyze the market before investing. You can mitigate the risk of losing money in the process and you will avoid the stress that comes with investing.
225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think should invest in BITCOIN now? on: April 06, 2018, 05:48:14 AM
Why do not we do if that can be an advantage for us, investment in my opinion is very important for now, where the current economy is rapidly rising with age in this world, which is certain if we do not have savings for the future it will be difficult also our economy in the future.
From following the investments from Bitcoin, we will have the means of saving for the future, which will certainly raise our financial returns as well as our living economy.
It's time for us to learn now, and also work on the investment world from Bitcoin, which will get us the result, which is a success we want in this world.
Investing on cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin is not a sure way of securing your financial status in the future. You just can't go telling people that they should invest now because of the market's status. Yes it's true that this would be a good opportunity to invest but people should still consider a lot of things before doing so. They should be aware that they can't expect quick returns in cryptocurrencies and be prepared to handle all the FUDs that they will encounter prior to their investment.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This is the Right time to get in! on: April 05, 2018, 06:10:59 PM
For all the newbies on crypto like me out there, this is the best time to get in in the crypto world. Why? Because the prices of coins now are so cheap. Last year on last week of December Bitcoin price went on its ATH which was like $20k+/BTC and almost all coins also went on their ATH before crashing. Bitcoin is still struggling to get back up to $20k+ level so invest now and hold your coins. Just buy coins that have high potential and has good technology and you won't regret it.  Grin

Too bad I entered in crypto world when it was at it's peak in 1st week of January I think. So don't be like me buy coins now while the coins are still cheap.
If you are giving advice about buying coins that have a high potential and has good technology why not cite some examples of coins that have these traits so that newbies can have an idea about it and they will learn key points on how to distinguish one from the group of coins out there in the market.

In my case, coins that are really used in their use-case are coins that have potential to increase folds when bitcoin recovers from this slump.
227  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk ≠ Bitcoin on: April 05, 2018, 06:01:26 PM
LMAO! Shitposters are taking spamming to a whole new level. Technically, those are the members that who don't do anything but to spam posts for the sake of earning stakes in their signature. They don't even care in the discussions of members in the thread where they post into. That is why they don't acquire essential knowledge about cryptocurrencies and the fact that they relate bitcoin to this forum is a sign that they are members who can't contribute well in the forum.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHAT HAPPENS IF BITCOIN POPS? on: April 05, 2018, 05:49:12 PM
Well, everything is simple - people who invested in bitcoin will lose their money unless they will trade it before bubble pops. Actually, the blow is possible because bitcoin is a virtual money and its price depends only on what's happening on the market. There could be speculations that can drop its price as well as make it high.
It could be the other way around. If bitcoin's price really drops that low then traders who have a lot of experience in these kinds of situations will eventually know or will have a gut feeling to the movement of bitcoin's price then they will take necessary action before it happens. After that, they will surely invest again in bitcoin and its price will recover again because of the increase in supply. This is just a circle of events.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What to do in this bearish market? on: April 05, 2018, 01:57:09 AM
We thought that the slight recovery of the market in the past few days is the start of another bull run for most of the coins but here we are again with another unseemingly dip in which we will see again a lot of FUDs that will only make things worse. Feels like we are given another chance to do something in this bearish market and take advantage of it. So how can we take advantage of this current situation?

It all comes down to these kinds of situation in which our trading skills are put to the test, anyone can make an easy money in the bull market but bear markets are where our skills are developed and our ability to make future profits is carved.

In a bear market, all coins are at its cheapest so it is a good chance to take some money out in the bank and invest it in a good coin but just because a coin is cheap doesn't mean it has value. DYOR on projects that are undervalued and has a potential to go ten folds or higher in the future when the market rebounds. Amidst the low quality or value of coins, analyzing one that has dropped a huge percentage from their ATH is a key.

This happens when most traders are impatient and the community has lost interest in the project even if their platform is still under development. They just want quick returns. So try and think about what you're doing so far and maybe you will realize that you are one of them and start avoiding doing these things in your crypto career.
230  Other / Meta / Re: 1 day old account with 10 merits. It is acceptable? on: April 04, 2018, 03:52:50 PM
Just curious about merit system. I believed of its purpose to eradicate the spammers and shitposters.
But I have noticed some newbies already have 10 merits in just 3 activity and a 1 day old account???!!! Which is the merit required to ranked up to member. And noticed some Jr. Member already have more than 120 activity are having zero merits. Newbies having ranked friends can simply provide them the merits. But how about those don't have?? Those people posting a meaningful posts still have nothing. Here is the sample profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2000093
For starters, if you can really find a merit abuse amongst those members then you should definitely report it to the moderator so that they will be banned in this forum but I've made a little research about who merited that user and it seems like zcroc1 applied for a merit review in lordquanta thread and most probably the post of zcroc1 is merit worthy for lordquanta.

Where do you see that zcroc1 applied? I don't see any posts by zcroc1 in that thread.
Sorry, my bad. I did not look at zcroc1's application in that thread first and only assumed that he did because I noticed in the merit summary of lordquanta that he received and sent merits from the same two users and dug deeper in the post they got merited to and found out that it was a post review for a merit. So I took the chance to see zcroc1's post and only assumed that he used that post to get reviewed because IMO, it is merit worthy but too much for that 5 merits.

232  Economy / Economics / Re: [ASK] How are you going to handle too much debt? on: April 04, 2018, 03:24:22 PM
what would you do if you had so much debt and that your income was not enough to repay your debt installment?
how will you deal with it?
how to solve it?

Just be responsible pay it in small amount. Discipline your self, the reason why people always run out of money is because their expenses exceed their income. So, it is best to adjust your budget and control your money properly.
As the OP stated, he can't pay it in a small amount because there is a specific rate that he is supposed to pay (debt installment). In any case, it will be best for you to find ways where you can suffice the amount needed to pay-off your debt installments. You can either borrow money from your relatives in which they will not ask for interest in your debt so that you can actually pay that debt even in small amounts.
233  Economy / Economics / Re: Working smart vs working hard - an ultimate guide on: April 04, 2018, 03:05:16 PM
Yes that’s true, but sometimes you have to work hard to achieve some things. What I’m trying to say is that despite it is very important to think smart, you might come up with some ideas that requires you to work really hard before you can accomplish them. You don’t just think smart and relax, waiting for you ideas to put themselves into work and put food on your table, nah, that’s never gonna happen. You will need to work for your ideas. Well, working smart.

Well, in the OP's standpoint, I think what he means in working smart is that you will find ways to make your work easier than what it supposed it should be. I mean, you will do things that will benefit you in the process and remove any hard task along the way. You will still work but with a strategic plan to make it simple as possible.
234  Economy / Economics / Re: Working smart vs working hard - an ultimate guide on: April 04, 2018, 03:00:01 PM
IMO, working smart doesn't work all the time. It will still vary depending on your situation. Most of the times, working smart really pays-off your cause but in some cases working hard is much better than working smart. For example. let's say at work, you are assigned to work on a presentation where you must make it as good and as informative as possible. You work smark in a way that you ask your workmate to help you with the presentation and asked him/her for some ideas about but both your ideas don't match up with one another and in the end, you end up working longer for that presentation as what it supposed it should be. On the contrary, if you work hard for it in the beginning and thought well as to how you can make your presentation meets the requirements, you'll definitely have a concrete idea and finished it at a shorter time.

236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to $12,000 beginning April on: April 02, 2018, 02:34:06 PM
Free Signal for people losing hope: Bitcoin is about to go upto $14,000.
If you are selling, dont sell. Hodl is the key here. Reap the benefit of waiting. For those waiting, invest now, buy buy and buy.
Dont listen to any negative comment below.

Fud fud fud.

Well, it's better to spread this kind of FUD rather than negative ones. We're over now in the first quarter of the year where we know that the price of cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin is expected to be in this kind of downtrend as seen over the past few years and started recovering little by little despite having a little dip along the way. Looking at the market now and we can see that it is slowly recovering.
237  Other / Meta / Re: Don't beg to have merit on: April 02, 2018, 05:16:53 AM
The title is an irony of the OP's true intention of his/her post. I guess he/she thinks that posting a super long post will earn him/her a merit. For the OP, it takes more than just posting like that. Even a one-liner post can be merited by other members as long as they can understand its point, has been really helpful or informative to them and they deem it worthy of a merit. Reading the first few lines of your post, I already know what kind of post it is and how it will go so I didn't even bother to finish the whole story. I hope you get my point.

Guys, I gave him a merit. You know why, because it is obvious to me that he really wanted it pretty badly.

My 1 little piece of merit will have hopefully added joy to his life. If anyone feels like giving me merit as well so I can feel the same way, I won't object to it, but I won't beg either.

Guys, I am not begging for merit right now, but I am posting good content right now. Try and find a grammatical error if you can. Hah! That's right, you can't! My English is perfect right now. I just wrote a couple of sentences and it was good content. You don't have to give me merit either if you don't want to. You can though.
So this is what a good content looks to you? Let's say you don't have any grammatical error in this post of yours, you think it is now a good content? Reading it all and all you do is contradicting every point you say. It still feels like you're also begging for a merit  Undecided
238  Economy / Economics / Re: The market started looking green today. on: April 02, 2018, 04:59:39 AM
Get ready for a whole bunch of new topics about the recovery of the market. Grin

Yeah i see bitcoin starting to wake up from the nightmare, and i believe there will be no more deep dump. I see graphics with aroon indicator and when it shows a positive thing, although i'm not expert on monitoring but this is my thought.

No deeper dumps as we can't expect bitcoin to fall that low anymore but we should still consider that there will still be a pump and dump that will happen along the way before we can see the market really recovering.

Not that much worries on my side though, since I believe that the next month will be one of the many months of this year that will show great prices for all the cryptos. And besides, if you haven't invested money you can't afford to lose, there really is no sense in worrying.

One thing that potential investors would know before investing that they should be prepared for the worst case scenario of what could happen in their investment. Getting nothing at your first one doesn't mean that you'll quit investing in crypto and will not believe it anymore.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: holding and prices will go up ? on: April 01, 2018, 12:12:24 PM
Everyone is holding and saying prices will go up again what can make prices go up again ? I do believe it will go up but not like last December unless something comes in and changes the market so what do you think it could be ?
Basically, holding and not going in a panic sell and instead buying more of the good alt coins in the market is a key factor that will help the market go up again. We can still expect for the price to increase just like what happened last December or even better but we will wait for quite some time as the price of bitcoin declined so much in the past couple of months.
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: April fools day fact: The market keep bleeding hard on: April 01, 2018, 12:03:22 PM
it is not an April Fools Day fact that altcoins have been getting dumped hard so the market and the market cap that you quoted above has been falling hard. it is just a simple fact. and as for bitcoin the drop has slowed down significantly which can mean the drop is near the end since it is becoming harder to go lower because of the bigger buy support.

I’m not sure if there is any buy support atm, the price is falling like an avalance with seemingly no end to the falling snow.
I'm flabbergasted myself seeing how the price of bitcoin still going down. I thought that at the end of March, we will see the market stops bleeding and most coin especially bitcoin will start to recover in April. I guess it is still too early to say these things as it is the first day of the month. Many ICOs are at a loss right now and those with solid use-cases survived and the weak and the ones with no use won't.
