I think they would not regulate the currency itself, is the places where they trade, we can already see the kyc that exchanges are asking for, that's a way to regulate, because with the kyc and you can start tracking the money and operations of that user.
The government certainly has a way to find out who the crypto owner is in his country, and tries to get revenue from crypto transactions. The government can request data from the crypto exchange, because from there the government will follow up according to the rules in the country. I think it it was just approved and we're only waiting for the launch, but it doesn't mean that suddenly everybody will want it. There's plenty of people waiting for an opportunity to sell with a profit and the market isn't ready to go crazy yet. It will be a big buy signal for anyone already in the game, so the first wave of money comes from the ones already standing in the sidelines. The money coming through an ETF itself is only a part of this and it will come in later on. And once more and more people start to think "the bottom is in", the craze will build itself again. I think there is a decent chance the ETF could be the spark in this. I dont think so. Anonymity is one of the feature of cryptocurrency, but not in bitcoin. You can use mixer to make your bitcoin transaction anonymous though. There are few mixer advertise in this forum. But i think bitcoin future according to satoshi is to become a future peer to peer currency, not to become an anonymous currency. yes, anonymity will only be misused by irresponsible parties, therefore bitcoin does not need it, bitcoin is created with a noble purpose, so that all is transparent, so anonymity is very contrary to the purpose of bitcoin. |

Well the term HODL is used when trying not to sell a particular coin bought, either at a bear or bull market run. It's when one decided not to sell a particular or some amounts of coin for a particular time and hodl till some kind of improvement or for a lengthy period of time.
That happens because the price of the assets they have is down and does not match the previous price. Because everyone certainly does not want to loss so there is nothing wrong with holding back the assets that we have. yeah, basically the ones who do the hodl are people who expect the value of a coin they have to rise, but instead the price drops, so there is no other option but to hold it back, and the discussion here is whether it is the right choice? if in my opinion it depends on the courage of each person, because choosing to hold it or not is not an easy choice, there are always bad consequences in it. |

the future of bitcoin is good but not because some imaginary giant investors are coming in. in fact these investors (like wall street) are bad for bitcoin, they make money from dumping bitcoin as much as they do pumping it and we don't want to see bitcoin turn into a pump and dump.

Isn't it the same as what happened last year? People right now literally make fun of those who bought the top, while back then it could have pumped over $50,000 without much problems.
The way the price kept going up continuously last year makes going from $20,000 to $50,000 a piece of cake. People didn't only held their coins firmly, but they bought more to book more profits while the price keeps increasing.

Earlier this year people thought Bitcoin price is going to cross $25k or even $50k. Now the price dropped around $4k. I guess few days ago I saw the price was around $3500. Which direction we are going by the way?
When in early 2017, the price of Bitcoin was around $900, someone told me that at the end of 2018 it will cost $3,000. I laughed because I thought that the maximum can be $1500. It turned out that it cost $20,000 at the end of the year.
