221  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Scam alert project @ Zugacoin on: January 23, 2023, 11:58:39 AM
Sometimes I noticed that we Nigerian always brings bad records to our selves, why because I believe that if it was a foreigner who owns this project I don't he would have any interior motive to scam or run away with people's funds.

Abeg leave that talk. You think say na Nigerians thief pass abi? Wait make foreigners catch you first for corner and you go see wetin pass scam. No be say I deh support bad things weh deh happen for our country but na to tell you say no place weh bad things and people no deh. It is everywhere. The Zugacoin thing na scam from day one only say people no open eyes do their research well because them see say the owner weh be Sam Zuga na bishop. Anything religion deh make people lose guard for Africa.
222  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: January 23, 2023, 11:36:08 AM
thats why its called gambling, dosent matter the amount he bet ...

That is it, and anyone placing a bet should have their minds on that. For the gambler who lost 1.4 million it may be a small loss to him and not much of a big deal. We should not cry on his behave. What if he had won it, we would be enjoying it on the beach with those fat brown cigars on his lips and pretty young girls around him. Gambling is a game and like a game you have winners and losers. There are bad and good days in every gambler's life. Maybe that day was that gambler's bad day.
223  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you appreciate more Desktop or Phone on: January 23, 2023, 11:12:53 AM
I am strongly in favour of desktop applications or even web based, as I think that phones are usually to small and I do not really trust much the apps, but there seems to be many people who would rather use their phone. Is that because they do not have access to a desktop computer? It may also be a regional issue, the same as people that do not use a browser?

Do you also mean laptop by desktop? If that is the case, it means you want to compare a toddler to an adult by placing laptop with a phone. I will choose a laptop over a phone. Laptop gives you a clearer picture and space of whatever you are looking at and can allow more applications and sites to run at the same time, unlike phones. Phone is on the go and can be a little easy to carry along unlike laptop but the advantage of laptop over it is much.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First thing i will do if Bitcoin become legal tender globally on: January 23, 2023, 06:44:36 AM

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU WILL DO IF BITCOIN BECOMES GLOBALLY ACCEPTED JUST LIKE THE INTERNET?

Because bitcoin is digital money it can not be globally accepted as a legal tender. But it can be globally known or heard of. Countries already have their different legal tenders and some of them are going to see accepting bitcoin for replacement as a let down to their countries. The internet is globally accepted because it has no competition and people see how helpful it is.

For me I will open my Bitcoin mining farm that will be public with a website and registered under the law for clients that will want third-party services that will align with global best practices of cryptography and digital asset management.

How is that going to be possible in a country without steady electricity supply or you do not know that setting up a bitcoin mining farm is largely dependent on that?
225  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: January 21, 2023, 06:52:43 PM

Am happy to have made the first position in overall local post count in my local board. I never expected to be first because I know we have many active and regular posters there. But am glad to have made this record. The local board serves as a point of unity for members, especially those from the same part. We can not under rate the local board because that is where many members in this forum find relaxation. That is my experience. It gives me joy visiting my local board. There is much activities there now after theymos granted the board to us.
226  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The fuel crisis issue in Nigeria and what I found out. on: January 21, 2023, 06:04:23 PM
I was able to make some inquiry as to why, we buy fuel at exorbitant amount and still yet the product is not available to buy.

And Buhari has remained as the Minister of Petroleum since his administration started for nothing. Over 7 years now. We just deh play for this country, I mean am. Nobody wants to do the right thing once them get any opportunity to steal money because no institution deh check wetin we deh do at all. How person go be president of a country and at the same time be minister again. Na lacknof accountability deh cause am. Obasanjo and others also did the same thing but it is very bad. Fuel weh you deh talk now deh sell for filling stations for Imo state for close to 400 official price o.

229  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dealing with low self-esteem on: January 20, 2023, 07:55:19 PM
You can feel better by committing to improve yourself in those areas that you have identified needs improvement, be it your finance, exposure, social life etc.

You are right about looking for ways to improve but how many of those with low self esteem will want to go that extra mile to improve themselves. They will rather want to stay and remain in their shells. It is worse when i see grownup men with families acting scared before others because they have lost their sense of worth. Low self esteem is a destroyer.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: what caused bitcoin to go up this january 2023 on: January 15, 2023, 03:13:48 PM
I see the price of bitcoin has increased, from 18000 now to 21000. and I think this is a good increase, at the beginning of 2023 and I think of course this is a sign that bitcoin will soon go to a bull market,

but I want to ask is bitcoin going to a bull run, or is it just a trap,? which later the price of bitcoin will fall again to 18000 or 17000?

You said it that it is a sign bitcoin will soon go to a bull market but you are still asking if it is not a bull trap, that means you are not sure of what you are saying. If what you call a bull trap is if bitcoin falls back to $17,000 then it is nothing to be worried about. $17,000 is still high price for bitcoin when you check how it got to $3,500 a few years ago, in 2019 or 2020.
231  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Advice for naija people on: January 11, 2023, 10:14:36 AM

Na too much fear fear weh we Nigerians deh fear make those thieves as leaders deh ride us. As you post this thing here come make me remember the advice weh Mr P of PSquare give that yeye Brymo because of his bigotry comment on Igbo people. Those people weh deh support sick Tinubu may all of their family members copy the character of Tinubu. As them see man weh deh obviously sick and dementia and them say na him them go vite for to rule them, may Tinubu bless them with his mental capacity. Make I even ask as others deh ask on this matter, wetin deh with tinubu and corn? If it is not agbado today, na popcorn or roasted corn tomorrow.
232  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe religion is a setback in African development? on: January 11, 2023, 06:15:12 AM

Religion has done more harm in Africa, especially my country Nigeria. Whichever form it takes, whether islam, christianity or the native traditional religion they have all made Nigeria backward. Leaders of this are merchants who exploit their people and hide the truth from them. Everything we do in Nigeria now is based falsely on religion. Someone comes to you and presents himself as a christian or moslem but will end up scamming or harming you. Those who follow this religious sects also do it blindly without studying and understanding what is written in their religious books. Our politicians are either christians or moslems but they are mostly dishonest people.

234  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump for prison. on: January 02, 2023, 04:42:21 AM
He committed a lot of crimes, including state crimes.

How long do you believe until he'll go to prison?

Since he has not been prosecuted and convicted  till today it means they have not found anything to nail him. America is not a banana republic that jumps procedure just to get someone accused of a crime nailed. There are procedures and transparency to get to this things. The way it is now, Trump did not commit that crime and is going to walk off free.

Note: Sir, sir, sir.

I know how you dislike people addressing you that way as sir. The person who sent you that mail does not know your personality or maybe he feels that your change of name can also affect your principle and decided to try his luck with it.
236  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerian Government and Politics Discussion Thread on: December 29, 2022, 06:13:45 PM
What do you have to say?

Wetin me I get to say be say number 1 person weh be Tinubu deh very sick and he will disgrace us like that South Sudan presido weh wee wee on himself for public. That disgrace no get description. PO na him get better record pass all of them and his records are there for all to verify. He is the only former governor with clean record. Make I just stop here.

One year jail term, N500,000 fine awaits vote buyers – INEC

237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the motives that drive you to gamble? on: December 29, 2022, 03:29:58 PM

Just a few bet here and there and am ok. I do not see myself at gambling houses every time like what you are doing. If not that I read where you said you have a pattern in place that make you control your gambling habit I would have said yours has turned into an addiction. But let me ask you Op, is there anything you can point to that you have achieved through gambling since you said you enjoy spending all your cash on it. Do you have any physical projects or properties you can point to that you own with winnings from gambling all this while?
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible gambling on: December 29, 2022, 03:15:14 PM
To avoid, running after the loss, I have set up the responsible gambling in my account and it helps me a lot to control the bad beats against my will to recharge my account and ending up losing it all again.

This is responsible gambling and from your side you are handling it so well, so you can not address yourself as a gambling addict by any means. This is how gamblers should play. Know your limit and when to quit, whether winning or losing. Gambling should not be a do or perish type of activity. It should be fun and that is the way I see it. Anything that makes it become a burden should be cut off and ended. Not doing that immediately makes it become dangerous to mental health and financial risk.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If your friend would tell you this... on: December 29, 2022, 12:51:43 PM
if he insisted I think I would try to go for live poker. I would try to learn more and improve my technique first, since it has been a long time since I played it.

You do not have to go live before practicing to awake your rusted knowledge of what you knew in the past. Practice first before throwing cash at it before you make someone loose their money. Your friend will see you as a true friend if you are able to help them increase or double their cash. But if the cash is lost you are likely going to have an angry friend blaming you for losing their cash. Be careful before leading your friend on.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cashless Gambling, your thought? on: December 29, 2022, 09:00:30 AM

I do not support the idea of a cashless gambling if it will have to go through the banks because KYC will be demanded. Gambling is supposed to be a discretely done event because of the way the society perceives gambling. There are some societies that have stigma for gamblers. If government wants a cashless pattern in the gambling industry, it should find a way to know the generated revenue from the casinos and task them appropriately. I will never accept to do a KYC on a gambling site because i know it will link to my bank account.
