I truly admire your patience... it's starting to get pretty annoying that the sole purpose of reading posts in this thread (lately) is to decipher whether to add the poster to your Ignore List or not... I don't think they'll get their stakes. I just said that I agree that stuff didn't go as it should have. It's not up to me to give out any stakes. I do want to point out that there is a good reason why this stuff suffered - Makoto was absurdly busy with important stuff (VC funding didn't come out of the blue). I understand the anger but I don't blame makoto for prioritzing. I just wanted to state my opinion. I can't help so I'll shut up now. Well, Makoto still have the chance to repair to his mistakes. If he's really interested in doing that. I don't understand how you Patmast3r cannot help us anymore, since you were (together with Makoto) the person to be contacted for any Sockpuppets complains. |

Unique thing that could change my mind I think would be a Big (Huge) Free Give Away for all the NEM Confiscated from SuckPuppets. When I say all, I mean ALL the suck puppets stakes... i know they are not just few....
This would make me feel better, knowing that Makoto and few other World Saviours (you are not included, you are fine) called Developers would not have control of them.
None of the sock puppet stakes go to the developers as bonus. This was discussed for a very long time and the community gave lots of feedback and votes in polls. The result is that all the sock puppet stakes go into different funds. One fund is to buy silver coins for all NEM stake holders. One fund is the community fund, where anybody from the community can propose a project that they want to be built on NEM and then the community votes whether they get funding or not. One fund is to help pay for the NEM mobile app which will then be offered for free on itunes and the Google Play store to all people as well as the source code open sourced on Github for anybody to fork. Another fund is an unconventional marketing fund which will help to market and promote the NEM ecosystem through ideas from the community, and lastly and NEM ecosystem fund which will be used to help create XEM as a currency that many businesses use. As you can see the claimed stakes from sock puppets will be put to very good use making NEM one of the most amazing and well funded platforms. I'm really curious: how many suppliers will accept to be paid with NEM ?? honestly... Who will make sure that 100% of sockpuppets will be used for good intents ? So, basically, what are you saying is, more stakes saved from distribution, more founds available to pay services to grow up NEM. Founds that Devs already put aside for this purpose at the very beginning, when they decide the number of stakes for distribution, Devs, services, development. It sounds to me like this example: Tomorrow my employer will decide to give me just the 50% of the salary next month, so with the other 50% saved he will be able to pay bills for the company, and it will not need to touch is own money. But don't worry Dannac, your money will be used for a right cause, we will pay the Bills for the Company where you are working in....  This is roughly how it sound your statement. Makoto, Makoto, Makoto... Is it just a case that, as soon as NEM got new VC Founding, he left his job  ? Sorry to say that, but you let us believe it. I cannot still believe what they are letting people believe about NEM, just to save some NEM stakes... AND I'M NOT CONSIDERING THE MONEY WE SPENT TO RESERVE A NEM STAKE, THAT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED... To all those who are complaining not having received a stake due to being marked as socks:
We had more then 2800 people who wanted a stake. I think everyone agrees that among those people there were many socks. So we had to act.
When deciding who will get a stake a who not, we had to find a compromise between being too lenient and too strict, the former leading to many socks getting a stake which is unfair to the ones that complied to the rules and the latter leading to many non socks getting no stake which is again unfair for obvious reasons.
But no matter how much effort our team put into the analysis, having so many cases which are unclear always results in some cases where a sock gets a stake and some cases where a non sock doesn't get a stake. Any other team would have faced the same problems. So if you didn't get your stake although you deserved one I am sorry for that, we could not avoid some misjudgements during the cleaning process. I do understand that in this case you are dissappointed/frustrated/angry. But that's life and there will never be 100% fairness anywhere. The decisions we made are final. I think the vast majority of the community will agree that we have to move on.

You can not avoid your responsibility and I don't want either be selfish and now that my case is resolved not to care about other people who deserved and are the right owner of their stake because of Makoto misjudgment. Maybe you misunderstood my statement. I was not saying that we know a case where we misjudged. It was only a statistical argument. To pick up your example: in every country there are innocent people in jail because of misjudgement even if the judges did their best to avoid it. They just don't know in which cases they misjudged. That's the dilemma when you got incomplete information. That's pretty embarrassing how you are trying to bring NEM Devs up to the level of a Country Law or so. How do you think you are ? You in particular, as individual, dear Bloody, you really like to upset innocent Sockpuppets with your attitude, don't you ?!? It looks like that... and you have been doing that for a long while already. Well, if this is the case, I would never want someone with your attitude in my Core Group. You have thousands of reasons, but the important thing is that you have broken the rule - 1 stake per 1 peron.
Most person understood it means '1 stake per i IP address', because anyone can make several ID for his own, and NEM team member can not visit their house to count their heads one by one.
It's a common sense.
My family all wanted to participated in NEM, too.
But, because we use the same IP address, only i could participate in NEM.
You just lost only small grain of money at funding time.
But you took away the opportunity of particupating in NEM from other persons.
So, please not only claim your right, but also feel sorry for them.
If you like NEM still, the best thing is 'Buy NEM NOW'.

Cases should be treated with fairness and the cases that Makoto did not deal correctly needs to be look at with justice, my feeling some of the cases Makoto did not take look at it at and passed by and this need to be revised urgently in the next few days by someone else and responding to them in a timely manner and with answers and not ignoring for months till the last few days. This is what I have seen by reading the complains I know what you mean when you refer to the wrong approach. But trust me, w've been quite e polite for more then a year... and that time is over. How would you react to so great arrogance from Makoto & Co. ?? We've got no replies or just very vague indications for months, no clarifications... and eventually you discover that you will not get what you think you deserve. |

we have to write here as Makoto is no paying attention to us and this is our last resource.
Just want to let you know, I'm JAMTHIRTEEN that made a sockpuppet redemption claim on nem forum. The problem is that I work with other two colleagues that also have NEM Stakes and we did it all from our work place that's why you might think there is one person with 5 Stakes but we are 3 people. Same Ip address from work place.

Then he offered us only one stake. One of his post here he said t ''Same IP + same fingerprint means the same computer. The rules were 2 stakes, which were meant to be 1 for you and 1 for a friend/loved one.'' If thats the case why he offered us only one stake? It should it be 2! Now we are genuine and we should have received 5 as we did it from our work place. There was not rule you could not do it from work where other people can create accounts. You keep changing the rules all the time.

This has been my experience. And consider we are holding 2 NEM stakes with us (so far). So, if I'm doing this, it's really because I don't think it always a matter of money, but I believe sometimes is a matter of fairness.
Let me get the facts straight: - You've registered 4 stakes, although it was clearly stated, one can register 2
- The other accounts have 1 post each (I won't comment on that)
- You've received 2 stakes
- now you're complaining, cause you got caught...

There was a tough and hard decision to make where a few would suffer but the 99% would have really been rightfully busted as socks. But each cluster wasn't wiped out entirely. This has been my experience. And consider we are holding 2 NEM stakes with us (so far). So, if I'm doing this, it's really because I don't think it always a matter of money, but I believe sometimes is a matter of fairness.
Let me get the facts straight: - You've registered 4 stakes, although it was clearly stated, one can register 2
- The other accounts have 1 post each (I won't comment on that)
- You've received 2 stakes
- now you're complaining, cause you got caught...
I call that impertinency, welcome to my ignore list Let me rectify your inferences: - WE have registered 4 stakes. 4 different individuals that live under the same roof, and that, consequence of that, share same Internet connection. - I've got the other 3 housemate involved because of NEM, when even me was pretty new on Crypto. They have to register to BTC Talks to get a stake. They really didn't care about BTC Talk forum. And still don't. WE checked periodically from one computer, together. No need to post anything if you don't really need to ask, isn't it I DIDN'T FIND ANYWHERE IN THE RULE BOOK REGARDING BEING AN ACTIVE MEMBER WITH AT LEST 10000000000 POSTS DONE WHEN DISTRIBUTION WILL COME.... So good call when you say "I won't comment on that" +1 for you - We have received 2 stakes, but we paid for 4. All our stakes required money, we weren't in the first pages were Stakes were free. wouldn't you complain for true ? - Now I'm complaining, yes, because we didn't break any rules at the time, when I decided to get other people involved in NEM, since NEM needed more people involved at the time, according to the developer. I'm talking about the smart one. I had to lend the other 3 guys some BTC and NXT to let them buy Stakes, because they were brand new on Cryptos. Now i have 3 mates that are thinking I cheated them. And they will never believe in Crypto anymore. So no stakes, no money back. And that wasn't stated in the rule book at the time. We didn't break any rules when we decided to go in together. RULES IN THE 1ST REGISTRATION POST SHOULD HAVE SAID something like:" IT WILL BE TOTALLY UP TO DEVS if GIVING OR NOT STAKES TO ANYONE LEGITIMATELY BOUGHT A RESERVATION. THIS WILL BE DONE ACCORDING TO RULES THAT DON'T EXIST YET." In that case, fair enough... Btw, following your provocation, I would call your behaviour dullness. Welcome to my pointless list. But thanks to worry so much about my case anyway. |

To all those who are complaining not having received a stake due to being marked as socks:
We had more then 2800 people who wanted a stake. I think everyone agrees that among those people there were many socks. So we had to act.
When deciding who will get a stake a who not, we had to find a compromise between being too lenient and too strict, the former leading to many socks getting a stake which is unfair to the ones that complied to the rules and the latter leading to many non socks getting no stake which is again unfair for obvious reasons.
But no matter how much effort our team put into the analysis, having so many cases which are unclear always results in some cases where a sock gets a stake and some cases where a non sock doesn't get a stake. Any other team would have faced the same problems. So if you didn't get your stake although you deserved one I am sorry for that, we could not avoid some misjudgements during the cleaning process. I do understand that in this case you are dissappointed/frustrated/angry. But that's life and there will never be 100% fairness anywhere. The decisions we made are final. I think the vast majority of the community will agree that we have to move on.
+1 I am very happy with the results. I do believe these people complaining about being labeled socks are in fact socks everything points to that. +1000 for your perspicacity I can smell stinky Socks from here indeed. |
