221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: August 04, 2014, 12:26:05 PM
Just a heads up, I'm not too familiar with IRC lingo...but it looks like the channel is moderated (+m flag) and therefore those without a voice can't talk (get a "Cannot send to channel" error).  Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong...but I don't see anyone else really talking in there, either, so I'm thinking I'm not the only one.

Anyway, excellent work guys, keep it up! I personally am not too worried about the dev portion of the premine, especially since the plan seems to be to make the team's addresses public. These guys are in it for the long haul.

Poor Kitteh...Shame no one will take over...oh well, that's how the market works I guess....

Bitshares X.

At this point its a great bargain, and I believe you'll never see these prices ever.

Frankly I'm shocked at the current price of BTSX, and have continued buying more...fairly certain it'll be erupting in the next few weeks once BitAssets hit. That, plus TITAN and DPOS and the fact owning BTSX gives you an equity interest in future BTS-X chain DACs...the future outlook is incredible IMHO.

What's TITAN?

...basically it's an awesome form of anon that can send to any account name that's registered on the blockchain (for example, if you wanted to send me BTSX you'd send it to "nomoreheroes7" instead of a random string of letters/numbers like all other coins).

Okay, in case anyone is interested...

I got bored at work today and decided to create a master spreadsheet of the mining numbers/coins available over time (thanks to realestmofo for providing me a template to work off of!)

Hopefully all the formulas are correct. With this spreadsheet you can simply change the variables in cells B28:B30 to any value you wish (amount sold in premine, syscoin price, and current BTC price) and all of the reward tiers/number of coins/market cap required to maintain that price will automatically update.

Feel free to give it a shot and let me know what you think. If there's any errors I'll be happy to fix them.

You have a very similar typo. 96 block reward = 138,240 per day and not 69,120 (69,120 number is copied from the 48 reward section by mistake).

No need to show me that table, because this updated reward scheme is my proposal (and it's good to see it accepted by the Syscoin team without any changes). You're certainly welcome  Cool

I took a look at these numbers, and it looks like realestmofo's calculations are correct based on the table shown. I'm thinking the problem lies in the 96 block reward row; in order to be 138,240 coins per day (which makes the most since, linearly decreasing as time goes on) the total reward days at this level would need to be 180 (96 reward * 259,200 blocks / 180 days = 138,240 coins per day). The more logical option is to increase the block height of the second mining tier to 777,600, so there are 518,400 blocks to be mined over 360 days (96 reward * 518,400 blocks / 360 days = 138,240 coins per day). This would of course push all the subsequent tiers' block heights higher by 259,200 blocks. Does this sound right?

Anyways, great jobs guys! This is what Syscoin needed.

So - aside from all the details relative to the launch itself, coin valuation etc, anyone out there have some interesting technical questions for us? We can talk use cases, implementation details, etc.. just ask!

How easy will it be to build a decentralized eBay out of Syscoin? Will people be able to buy and sell items through Moolah in a decentralized manner utilizing Syscoins, or will it be through some special portal or app or something? I'm not too down with the "technical" side of all this, so I'm not even sure if it's possible with Syscoin's offerings, but I imagine this with a user-friendly approach would go far in terms of initial adoption.

NXT has a corny name, it will never catch on. It's trying too hard to be next best thing.

Lol honestly I think that's the one biggest drawback to NXT -- what a terrible, terrible name.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: July 21, 2014, 04:08:47 PM
Specific details about valuations and their general attitude towards the presale were not.  I'm not saying there is anything bad about SYScoin and I agree I made a mistake in investing in the presale.  All I'm asking for is a chance to get out nothing can be set in stone like this.  I still believe SYScoin is doing a lot of great things.  I just don't think I was able to make an informed decision.

...but what if you made a GREAT decision? What if the IPO price is never seen again once it hits an exchange and it continues to grow, especially considering the low amount mined per day? Think of it that way. I still think you made a great decision, and only time will tell who's right.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: July 20, 2014, 05:54:02 PM
Hmm...well since it looks like the idea is to only mine the amount that is sold during the presale, what will this mean for the mining structure? As in, say only 150 million of the 300 million are sold, will the reward structure stay the same and the same amount of coins be mined daily as if all 300 million were sold? If that's the case, then it definitely does seem to be in the investors' best interest to not see all presale coins sold, as it would give more room for growth due to the reduced market cap and coins available for sale. But then again...if all coins aren't sold, that would imply the price was too high and it would be unlikely that price would sustain at an exchange, right? Or maybe not; just thinking aloud here...
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: July 20, 2014, 01:04:28 PM
I'm asking again. Please offer us a method to trade our investments. Why are you ignoring my question? I thought the investments were going to be tradable

Why would the presale be tradeable? It is a PRESALE, meaning the coin isn't even available yet. The team has been very open and has made very clear the terms of the presale (no refunds unless the team fails to deliver, coin will launch in mid-August, etc). If you couldn't do 5 minutes of reading this prior to investing then maybe you shouldn't be investing at all? All I see here is you having a change of mind and crying "scam" at the developers and Moolah when they've been nothing but transparent and responsive this whole time. You can't just wait until next month to drop your investment for a healthy profit?
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: July 19, 2014, 07:00:20 PM
Is it safe to send BTC from our Coinbase wallet?
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: July 19, 2014, 05:05:24 PM
0.001 really that price will not hold. rather wait for it too drop when miners mine and get it way cheaper. wow 100k.

Pretty sure the 0.001 referenced is in dollars, not satoshis.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: July 16, 2014, 01:54:34 PM
Just to be clear.. 3600BTC is NOT what we are going for. Again please wait for the full details before jumping to conclusions.

Thanks snipsnoop; I really am hoping that my hypothetical scenario is incorrect, but still goes to show how important the initial pricing will be.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: July 16, 2014, 12:55:55 PM
I'm still kind of worried about the IPO pricing...since we know it will be less than 0.03 per coin during regular phase, let's take a scenario of 0.018 for the early bird and 0.027 for the regular phase. That comes to 50 million sold at 0.018 = $900,000 + 50 million sold at 0.027 = $1,350,000, a combined total of $2,250,000 (approx. 3600 BTC) for 100 million coins. Add to that the 60 million coins for the devs (about $1,350,000 weighted average) and you have a total market cap out the gate of $3,600,000 (approx. 5750 BTC), #19 in market cap. If there are 325,888,000 coins available after 8 months, the total market cap will need to be $8,798,976 (#10 in market cap) just to maintain the regular IPO price of 0.027 (meaning break even for investors). Please feel free to correct me if any of my math is incorrect, but the room for growth appears kind of small, at least in this scenario.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Syscoin a game changer? on: July 16, 2014, 12:39:34 PM
They need to prove that they are really going to do what they say, and 8% premine.... hope it is for developpement

proof not necessary, no whitepaper needed. just post thread about specifics and back with real life name and shut up and take my money!!

lol I'm pretty sure you are seriously interested in Syscoin (as am I) but you sure know how to make it sound scammy...
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [MZC] MazaCoin *National Currency of the Traditional Lakota Nation* | NEW THREAD on: June 24, 2014, 01:22:23 PM
Lol I put like $15 into MZC back in the day...is now worth approximately 1.7 cents. Don't think I've ever seen a coin fall as bad as MZC did. Live and learn...

Interested, will follow.
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Single Bitcoin will Worth $100K - Do You Believe it? on: June 23, 2014, 12:54:52 PM
I think due to the fact that so many people here have so much complete blind faith that it will reach extremely high levels, that it will never happen. It's too easy, too expected. If something is too good to be true then it probably is.

That...actually makes the most sense. Let's hope you're dead wrong lol.
