well, this sures looks like one, yea multi pools kill coin prices

https://pool.trademybit.com/pools/BOST

I stand corrected.  That's crazy, they started a multipool with only two coins to mine.  I guess they're anticipating more.  Let's face it most people here plan to dump at some point, seems stupid to do it now but it does help traders to get in at a good price.

waiting for the rebound  Grin

Good time to buy.  Popular POS coins always pop right before the POW ends.

STOP SELLING U LITTLE GIRLS.....unbelievable!

ARE YOU MORONIC? MULTIPOOLS ARE DUMPING YOU LITTLE GIRL  Grin Grin Grin

This coin uses the X13 algorithm.  There are no X13 multipools, afaik there are only two X13 coins.

was a fun ride but now I'm broke and can't seem to get rid of the insects crawling under my skin.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] on: May 28, 2014, 07:50:00 PM
Hey Folks - I placed an order at http://shop.kimocoin.com/ last week...

I haven't received a confirmation for my order.  Your store accepted my KMC, so I believe by international law, we have a contract...

Is anyone minding the store?

Sorry friend but the store is closed.  Forgetme, the creator of the coin, has abandoned the project, but he has transfered the domain and VPS to me.  I'll be hosting it from now on, so the coin will not die.  We'll start a new thread soon.  You should PM forgetme to ask for a refund.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] CryptoMETH [METH] SHA-3 Keccak on: May 28, 2014, 05:26:43 PM
so... what's the future of this coin?  Am I just holding a bag of 500K for nothing?

Wow, even now that's over 2 BTC, and over 3% of the circulation.

I calculated the current circulation to be 15,223,414.  So that would put total market cap at 61.5 BTC or about USD$35,000.  Not bad for a bunch of METH heads.

I don't know if I'm right here but...

Isn't Kim Dotcom's son named Kimo?

I might be grasping at straws here but

This coin was started by an Italian university student, not Kim Dotcom.

P2P block notifications != P2Pool

I'm not so concerned with the fairness as much as the security of the blockchain.  If the reward drops to 5k and the miners bail (I know I would), then our coin will be dead.  If we cannot agree on the changes, then we'll just leave it alone.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] on: May 27, 2014, 01:20:08 AM
jacob019: After block 100 000 I would like to propose the following scheme:

Every 2 000 block block reward drop by 10 000, so:
block 100 000  -- 100 000
block 102 000  -- 90 000
block 104 000  -- 80 000
block 106 000  -- 70 000
block 108 000  -- 60 000
block 110 000  -- 50 000
block 112 000  -- 40 000
block 114 000  -- 30 000
block 116 000  -- 20 000
block 118 000  -- 10 000
block 120 000  -- 5 000

What do you think?

The logic here is that for every range will be little more than a day.

Seems okay, but I'm worried that after block 120000 we won't have any miners.  Seems like we might be better dropping only to 20,000 then take a year or so to drop all the way to 5,000.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] on: May 26, 2014, 03:46:38 PM
Of course, money would still be there.  There would be a mandatory wallet update.  Premine was only 150M and I did not ask for it from forgetme.  He did send 10M.  Considering the circulation is now over 3 billion, the pre-mine is nothing to worry about.

Regarding gambling features.  I have neither the time nor the skill and since you are not offering to develop it that's out.  If you want this feature you need to find someone who can code it.

Regarding POS, that's beyond my abilities and I don't have the time to invest to learn it.  I'm sure I could modify the block reward, even the algo switch will be difficult, but I'll give it a shot.  Really need help with all of it.  I'm not very fond of POS coins, they're prone to forking and there's no built in incentive in the network to prefer one main chain.  I think pure POW is better, but this is our community coin now, so we will go with the majority decision.  The main blocker is that we need the code.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] on: May 26, 2014, 02:12:51 PM
We have the kimocoin.com domain, but have not yet gotten access to the vps and github repo.  Forgetme has agreed to give me access to both, but it's unclear how long it will take.  Anyway, we should start planning for the future of the coin.  I believe it would be a good idea to do a hard fork at block 100,000.

I believe that we should adjust the block reward and maybe the algorithm:
1.  After block 100,000 jump immediately to 50,000 with a longer tail.  I'm very worried about moving quickly down to only 5,000.  Who amongst us will continue to mine with only 5,000 block reward?  Here we are at 80,000 and < 0.1 diff.
2.  Switch algorithm to X11, I actually like Scrypt-N but X11 does seem to be more popular and we might pick up more users that way.

What are your thoughts on these points?
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] on: May 25, 2014, 01:10:47 AM
Really appreciate words of support.  I'm working with forgetme.  I can't do this myself, need support from the community.  Would be wonderful if people could volunteer to help guide the future of our coin.  Will need help making decisions on how to proceed.  We especially need support with advertising and community development, outreach to exchanges, kimocoin artwork and more.  I've already gotten control of the domain, still waiting to get access to the VPS that hosts the block explorer and faucet so I can port it to the new servers.  Also hoping to get control of the original github repo.  Things are going to be different from now on.  There's no more "dev", instead it will be a distributed community project.

birdonwheels5, thanks for the good ideas.  First step will be to get control of the project into the hands of a new dev team.  I'm trying to work with forgetme to get control of things temporarily while we try to build the team.  It would be best if we can avoid a hard fork until the dust settles.  If you really want to help out I would suggest that you fork the repo and start studying the code and see what is necessary to implement some of these ideas.  I think switching to X11 might bring more support from miners, but before we move forward with any changes we need to have some community support.  My idea is to form a voting board from the top KMC stakeholders.  Then we could vote on some ideas on how to move the project forward.  Anyone else who can offer support, or has any ideas on how we should move forward, please speak.

I'm willing to donate my KMC-s to faucet - if needed to make giveaway for noobs!
Much appreciated, but please wait.   We're going to try moving the domain to new hosting and I'm not yet sure if we'll be able to get the coins out of the old faucet wallet.

I love VTC  Grin  Just bought 600 at this low price.  Such a great dev team and community.  VTC > LTC
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] on: May 23, 2014, 06:08:45 PM
We need a volunteer who will maintain the github repo and start a new thread and head some promotional efforts.  It would be ideal if forgetme would hand over control over the repo so we don't have to hard fork during this difficult time.  I could do this, but frankly I don't think I'm the person for the job, because my C skills are poor (I'm a good python dev though), and I don't have time to put into development and promotion.

I would volunteer however to host the domain, block explorer, online wallet, paper wallet, and faucet--but will need some cooperation from forget me to transfer it.

Finally we will need some community consensus on how to move forward if we're going to salvage this project.

Well that sucks.  We need a new dev.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] SHOP ONLINE!!!!! on: May 22, 2014, 05:38:58 PM
If forgetme ever gets the shop working and shipping stuff, and stocks it well, then we can spend our coins there...

In the Italian thread, he admits that he made some mistakes with the store.  I'm not sure how much fiat he owes, but at this point he's looking at giving away the items to support KMC.  There's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem, in order for the store to operate, he must be able to sell the KMC for fiat with which to purchase the products.  When the inflation begins falling and we start seeing more buy support, the store operation will become feasible.  Really hoping he puts in the effort, because as soon as he makes good on the orders, the value is sure to skyrocket which will offset the cost of filling the initial orders.

Shouldn't we be trying to pump it now so we have a fair distribution? We shouldn't let our greed get in the way of the coin's success...

Perhaps, but market forces don't encourage it.  You can make a difference too by spreading the word.  Just a few weeks to go before the reward starts to decline.  With the low difficulty, everyone has a chance at turning a nice profit.  Is it more risky than mining VTC?  Sure, but the potential for reward is higher too.

a junk coin, that i have 1000,but on exchange that no buy orders

You can find LTC buy orders on Comkort, but 1000 isn't worth it.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ScryptAdaptive] KMC KimoCoin - KimotoCoin [5 EXCHANGES!] SHOP ONLINE!!!!! on: May 22, 2014, 02:15:22 PM
have not considered how long it takes to reach the blocks of deflation ..

We reach block 100000 in 18.5 days.  This coin uses KGW to keep the block time steady at 60s regardless of hash rate, hence the name.  I found this coin after the shop was already closed, FWIW.
