221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin = Skynet A.I.? on: August 01, 2011, 11:14:06 PM
#1, when an A.I. super intelligence makes itself known, there will not just be one, but many.
Therefore if we can make sure the strongest one has the "people's" interest at stake we will be okay.

I suggest watching Colossus: the Forbin project.
Much better than Skynet, as Colossus is a philosophy.

hey I just finally figured out the avatar I want to use!

It's one of my favorite films.

mine bitcoins, buy bitcoins or steal bitcoins.

we have a place for 2 of the options but this forum is lacking on the third most popular way of obtaining bitcoins.

226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold 0.008 btc for over 11,000 USD at mtgox on: July 31, 2011, 03:32:48 PM
As far as I can tell no one has anything to be concerned about with dwolla and mtgox unless they go do some silly shit like what OP is stating having done.  Lips sealed
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox btc price > 1.3 million per bitcoin on: July 31, 2011, 01:43:01 PM
well if someone were to transfer money to dwolla it would have already gotten into dwolla...mtgox cant get it back from dwolla

but they can, dwolla monitors mt gox transfers quite diligently.

233  Other / Meta / Re: What is it about bitcoin that brings the "pan-handler" out of everyone? on: July 31, 2011, 01:16:25 AM
and whacha gonna do about it??
xD

Nothing at all. It just makes this series of statements that much funnier:

"
most I've noticed, even before I turned off signatures is girls/women/guys acting like cute girls doing this.

something like:
oh I'm just a girl!
Could u pwetty pwease give me er gimmee sum wittle bitcoins? he he!

everytime I see that, I imagine some fat kid wearing a mickey mouse cap on the other end of the address.
"

8^)

demanding and begging is two completely different things you chimp!
Either I hurt your feelings with my comment or you just want to be right.
so which is it?
Let me guess, in this scenario you weasel your way out of it and choose another option!
Yet now you have nothing to base your argument on, unless you just want to argue some more.

I will provide this, for a fee.
XD

Lynx FTW btw

Hey, I just saw the 2nd part of your message.

How do the exchanges run in lynx?
They don't, that's why I had to vote for Firefox too Grin

It is very cool being able to use lynx or links on web hosting with ssh support. Smiley
too bad they don't support web socket though.
