221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is bitcoin having real value? on: November 14, 2014, 12:16:24 PM
Gold has value and its used 90% in jewerly only... no real usage, no special properities. Gold is useless, but people just agreed that gold has value.
So it has.

You sir, get an A+ !

My first lesson in BTC was that no money has value beyond the perception of value. Gold is a shinny rock, dollars are fancy paper. It is our belief of value that is central.

This isn't really true. Gold has intrinsic value because it is a metal and a precious one at that. You can makethings out of it, and not just jewelry.

FutureStocks.biz signature campaign  has closed :

Due to lack of support from btc community I'm forced to stop signature campaign.

That guy is blaming the Bitcoin community for his failure  Cheesy

Haha sounds like it. What does lack of support actually mean? Nobody gave him their money or not enough did?

Out of interest how many ads have you sold previously and for what prices, if you don't mind me asking?
Well, round 5 is currently in progress, so you guess how many ads have been sold. Tongue
The price is somewhere between 0.035BTC and 0.04BTC.

Derp. Didn't see that bit haha  Embarrassed. Good luck with the fifth round then  Cheesy.
223  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: November 13, 2014, 02:17:24 PM
Hoping some new campaigns come out from the woodwork soon. My Silver Wallet campaign ends at the end of this month and I'll be a Senior by then as well. Hope PD can come back from the dead Cheesy.

EDIT: The next auction is up as well: Advertise in the Signature Overview Thread [Round 5]

224  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: November 13, 2014, 02:14:22 PM
BiPolarBob is great.  I've done a few transactions with him in the past and 100% all around.

I hope he is able to post around here again.

What happened? Did he get banned again or has he just disappeared? I don't think a character like bibolarbob was created to stick around forever anyway.Maybe he's still amongst us under a different name?
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Destroy Bitcoin Foundation? on: November 10, 2014, 06:16:43 PM

1.- Is Bitcoin Foundation necessary?

3.- What is your alternative proposition to Bitcoin Foundation? And if it's running, I would like to know what is it?

1) No, it's not necessary but we can't do anything about that. All we can reiterate is that they're a centralized organization of a decentralized idea and they don't necessarily support the whole community.

3). We don't need one, but at the end of the day anyone could create their own foundation. The current one isn't the "official" one and I don't see how it ever could be.
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Other than Bitcointalk on: November 10, 2014, 06:09:09 PM
Bitcointalk is the only forum you need and that's why none of the others succeed because they're just not required or have the userbase that this one has. I also like the way this forum is moderated any basically anything goes within reason. Most other forums the power goes to the mods head and they just abuse it.

Bitcointalk is the only bitcoin forum that I participate on.

Therefore anyone participating on any other forum is missing out on my amazing knowledge and advice.

As such, it is a waste of time to participate in any other forum.

Over time as more people learn this, this forum becomes more popular and other forums slowly die off.

 Grin

Lol. Maybe they can find it via Google.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Support OpenBazaar!!! on: November 10, 2014, 06:05:33 PM
OpenBazaar is cool but is not good enough.

It's early days. Come back in 6 months.

When does it actually go live? I think this needs to become operational as soon as possible. It's going to be an interesting experiment but one that is badly needed due to the nature of the free market. I'm also interested how they will deal with items that really shouldn't be on there like the worst kind of stuff.
228  Other / Off-topic / Re: PayPal question on: November 10, 2014, 05:57:54 PM
Hello,
if I open paypal account without any verification, I will be able to receive money and send it after that?
it depends the country in which you live, you've to verify your account to withdraw / send funds but you can receive funds without verifying.

I was going to say I never needed to verify mine and could add a card and spend straight away, but there were account limits I had to verify eventually, but wasn't needed at first.
229  Economy / Services / Re: ➫ ➬ Lucky Bit Signature Campaign ★ Earn up to 0.1BTC every month ★ Closed - FULL on: November 07, 2014, 03:58:12 PM
Your post is quite detail . But  earn up to 0.1BTC every month! Do you make sure  it  is easily ?

If I understand you correctly it is fairly easy for a Senior Member to earn 0.1 in a month, providing you follow the rules.  ~However, you are currently just a newb.

looks like i can no longer participate in sig campaign because of US Residency. bummer.

Why has this suddenly become a problem? What changed?
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you interested in Bitcoin because of the concept or to get rich? on: November 07, 2014, 03:53:27 PM
Mostly people using bitcoins to become rich as it has very high rates.

Yeh, except for the 50% of it's value it has lost over the past year. At least this got rid off all the kiddies who thought btc was a easy get rich quick scheme. I'll laugh when the price rises in the future after they've all sold there's as soon as they could recoup half their money  Grin.

Presenting the latest ponzi scheme....

Futurestocks.biz (Thread)
Payment period: Daily, to web account
Minimum posts: 20 posts/ week
Payments: H [0.19BTC/mth], S [0.15 BTC/mth], F [0.09 BTC/mth], M [0.06 BTC/mth], J [0.03BTC/mth]
Miscellaneous: Ponzi without escrow

Seems to be offering daily payouts but people still shouldn't promote this out of principle, but I guess if people get their money they wont care.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 07, 2014, 03:43:25 PM
Guanaja would be my hideout.

Unspoilt countryside, miles of beaches & coral reef, only 3km of paved road, 25 degrees in winter.

+ Honduras has no extradition treaty with US.

I'd love to live off the grid in an exotic country and live off btc for the rest of my life, though I guess I'd need an internet connection at least.

SR 2 blast will not effect much on the BTC price. The price will remain approximately the same.

Thank you, Captain hind-sight.

Lol. The price does seem to have gone up according to Preev, though I can't see why it would just because SR has gone down.
233  Economy / Services / Re: FutureStocks.biz signature campaign! Earn BTC daily! on: November 07, 2014, 03:38:08 PM
No escrow currently?

Please do not join!

Sadly this wont stop all the greedy gits who don't care. They do seem to be offering daily payments  but people shouldnt support this as you're advertising what is surely going to be a scam.
234  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $180amazon giftcard for $130 webmoney or btc(with proof) on: November 07, 2014, 03:29:17 PM
3) And stop trying to wrangle out of using escrow because it makes you look like a complete scammer even if you aren't.

Someone will probably buy this from you if it is indeed legit, but your behavior makes me question whether you even have it at all.

sold to ryuga
stop the nonsense

ryuga, an account that never posted in this thread and signed up two days before you did? Not suspicious at all. How much did he pay?

and reason for giving $50 discount is only for trusting me

That's a classic scammer line offering a discount if they just trust you. There's nothing to stop you from running off with the money once you get it. Use escrow and provide proofs and you'll be fine, or only sell to someone fairly trusted.

i done deal with ryuga and remmber all are not scammers and i even answered for gicing discount i.e since 1month as no one came forward i offered for such low and stop criticising me when i not done anything wrong and if i did naything bad with you you can claim,ok.

No, not all are but people who try to get out of using escrow normally are. Don't tell people they need to send first because it sets alarm bells off.
235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 07, 2014, 02:38:13 PM
he was making 400k+ per month. If you were making that much money you are going to want to live in the US to be able to enjoy luxuries that can be purchased in the US (or places that are friendly to the U.S. as places that are not friendly tend to be third world like countries).

I do agree that he made horrible mistakes - it was almost self sabotage

Even that kind of money wouldn't be worth it for me. Money is worthless if you can't spend it as he's likely going to be in jail for the rest of his life. I really can't imagine the stress of the paranoia I'd be under operating such a site, but if I did I wouldn't be dumb enough to log in from my home computer even through tor.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SilkRoad 2 Taken down by Feds on: November 07, 2014, 01:59:06 PM
Silk road 3.0.

here we come.

eventually it will be run on some sort or anon block chain / asset exchange. Eg the NXT asset exchange with many suppliers could probably do it.

Wont be able to take that down.

This is what will and needs to happen. Check out Open Bazaar which is trying to become the first decentralized marketplace.

Does this really solve the problem though? Can't the FBI just download Open Bazaar, join, put of a fake storefront, fake reviews, fake trust and the bust people who buy from them? Who isn't to say they can't setup a sting like that?

They could but they won't last long and I'm pretty sure that would be entrapment. Law enforcement aren't really interested with wasting resources on busting kids trying to buy small amounts of drugs; they go after the big guys.

Is there any news about the re-opening of primedice signature campaign? Almost all of signature campaign is closed now  Angry

If it is re-opened it will very likely just be open to Seniors and above so unfortunately you'll still be out of luck. I did hear of another dicesite that is soon to be launched and they're apparently going to run a signature campaign.

Apparently im in the fortunejack capmaign, but I'm waiting for the new PD campaign if there is one.

And you have to tell this to all the people that are watching this thread? C'mon stop spamming!

 Cheesy VV see below VV

Happy 100th page!
Thank you very much! I'm pleased that we gotten so far. I just wonder how many of those pages are filled with "shit" posted by people with a paid signature.

I wonder about this also. Seems nobody posts in the PD thread now but here instead.

I'd recommend downloading a linux live cd / usb and boot from that exclusively when you want to transact with your coins. As long as the distro is safe you should also be fine. I'd avoid using a windows machine as it's just far too easy to get a virus these days even with a decent antivirus installed.
