No regrets... if you don't believe it will at least surpass $400 by the end of the year then you have small hones. The purchase today is for the long run... $275 is better spent on the future than a hotel and & decent meal.

One of several professions that could be targeted.... I'm sure cruise ship workers would also be ranked highly among international transfers... oil workers... military etc. The best way for direct targeting would be common interest forums & publications. With increased awareness the failure has been not providing direct links for signing up with specific benefits & simple instructions.

Pretty sure Microsoft will sink a substantial amount of funds promoting btc and educating the public.

Good step for bitcoin. more companies accept BTC = more people will buy it. but, whether does not rule out the possibility that more people who will sell it?
In order to offset the offloading of coins by these bigger companies that will sell it at the end of the day back to BitPay, there needs to be built-in discounts from paying w/ BTC to keep the demand coming from newer users to pay w/ it. From my perspective, why the hell would I want to pay w/ BTC and expose my wallet addy to any entity when there's no cost benefit for doing so? Furthermore, why would any person that is purchasing a PC think to themselves, "gee, let me try something different and pay with something I know nothing about?" However, if there was some sort of discount that would make a substantial amount of people want to learn about and pay for the product in BTC then you would have a more significant jump in price rather than just an initial 7-10$ short term bump. Great observation... The incentive for companies to add BTC payment will need to be clearly expressed with a marketing plan.

And the dominoes start to fall... lead, follow or get the fuck out of the way... looks like a full moon on the horizon.

My guess is that Bitpay will have some type of Microsoft promo at the "Bitcoin Bowl"... this will be the coming out party for educating the public.

Not really the spirit of bitcoin the payment method for everyone... knows no borders and all that bitcoin jazz
Then get off your ass and make it common acceptance in your country... if you can't lead then follow

To help students navigate the notoriously dicey legal and economic landscape of software-based payment systems, NYU debuted a course in "The Law and Business of Bitcoin and Other Cryptocurrencies," making it one of only a handful of U.S. universities to do so. http://www.villagevoice.com/2014-12-03/news/bitcoin-class-nyu/

Maybe Master Card should spend more time fighting the rampant CC fraud and less time talking about regulating others. I've had to cancel my Master card account three times in the last two years due to security breaches from MC.

The next big push will come from traders once the Winks get approved.

Thanks for sharing... this story should be receiving global traction... Go take it to the masses.

One countries over regulation becomes another countries opportunity... eventually the heavy handed entities will realize that this is truly a global economy that can survive nicely with or without them... that's when they begin to backpedal (as NY is currently in the process of). BTW, thank you Canada for listening and letting the technology take it's course before submitting knee jerk regs ... they will reap the early rewards. The OP does not recognize international free market competition.
