hi mue's
nice to see more and more action here.

I've patched my daemons and it seems to be working fine on:

Ubuntu Vivid with openssl 1.0.1f-1ubuntu10
Debian Jessie with openssl 1.0.1k-1

I've created a dev branch with these fixes for testing purposes. https://github.com/MonetaryUnit/MUE-Src/tree/dev

i have some little problems to compile the new wallet on ubuntu 14.04

main branch error:

i would like to use the dev branch cause of the openSSL bug, if it is ok for mainnet.

Err.. Nobody seems to care.

Why MUE and not Bitcoin, litecoin, ripple, darkcoin, dogecoin, paycoin, stellar etc etc etc ETC?
Well, I care, theboccet cares, and those people mining MUE care Smiley

We do also offer an alternate "lottery"

www.MinersLottery.com

Which also offers BTC as well as MUE for being part of MUE pool mining.

A serious question about the remaining 21 million MUE pre-mine

Dear all, I just wanted to get any opinion or feedback regarding the balance of the MUE pre-mine.

Nearly 50% has already been distributed to faucets, promotions, giveaways, development, services, crypto scratch cards (launching any day) etc etc
I have been diligent and honest in maintaining my integrity with it's use, and not 1 has been used for personal gain in anyway.

My intentions for the remainder of the pre-mine was to continue to attempt to increase promotion, exposure, popularity & adoption of MUE by;
  • Increase the amount of MUE for new Twitter followers and FaceBooks likes (1000 MUE each rather than 300).
  • Continue to fund the www.BlockOlottO.com giveaways
  • Continue to fund the www.MinersLottery.com giveaways
  • Continue to fund the planned www.GetCoinReward.com proof of action campaign site
  • Fund more Crypto Scratch cards (currently 2.1 Million has been allocated to them, I wanted to increase this to 10 Million)

Or do I burn the remainder, see here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831042
and we see where the project goes?

Any and all comments, feedback & suggestions welcome Smiley

Either no one has a strong opinion on this either way, or you all have just total faith in my decision making ability?  Cheesy
personally i have a preference for the burning but i have another suggestion about MUE coin.
I never seen a quark based coin with POS.Is there a possibility to have this on quark algo?If yes it will be a huge update for MUE to have burned coins and POS with coins control option.
what about this MUE?!!!!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll wait a little more time to see if any further opinion is given.

Here's a pre-release I've been working on. It includes a few bug fixes and Coin Control for moving small amounts into one address, among other things.
For your convenience, I have also uploaded a windows binary of uncle-bobs minerd in a separate zip.

https://github.com/MonetaryUnit/MUE-Src/releases/tag/1.0.0.0-b20e016

I marked it as pre-release because it hasn't been extensively tested.

Testing going really well.
Coin control is working great....would be very nice if there was a "wallet defrag" button that automatically did the coin control stuff...just sayin Wink

Testing the 3 different minerd versions, I found a 30% performance increase using the "minerd-avx" version as compared to the old minerd version.
That's a pretty good performance boost by anyones standards.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: February 11, 2015, 11:08:27 PM
Coin control is actually ALOT easier than I thought it was.
I had a test wallet with a balance of about 2000 MUE.
This was made of about 2000 inputs of small transactions which meant when it came to sending MUE from this wallet I kept getting the "transaction creation error" message whenever I tried to send over a few hundred MUE.
With this pre-release wallet with Coin Control, I spent about 5 minutes sending 100 MUE at a time ...

I once ran into the same problem, and solved it with a script. Have a look:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=488167.0  "sendmany.sh"
Thank you, will do just that Smiley

I'm sure no one will think there is any disrespect Smiley

Thanks for your input and support cinnamon_carter, it's appreciated.
It's pretty clear the minerd software and the additional dlls associated with that, cause virustotal to have a bit of a meltdown, and as you indicate, without those, virus total is just a single hit;

"Have a look at this (without the mining software), only 1/56 on virus total
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/4bb81af5a18f44b02d177fe2c0bc065fe660e2d54a5849a1940b1f0fabbb2185/analysis/

download link
https://mega.co.nz/#!TFUz1BZD!kt4Y61HBYCsFIHEmFNebvIRBiXuhWCPPDbHsdqAg0yA"

It's always good to be vigilant, and if the source can be "trusted" then it is good to keep in mind that if mining software is combined with the wallet software flags will be waved by virustotal.  Mining software like minerd is essentially password cracking software, trying to "guess" the next hash, so it's no surprise really.
In fact, I can't even download most wallets in Chrome now, not just the MUE wallet as Chrome thinks most of them are malicious..sigh...

Thanks again for your input, it is appreciated Smiley

no disrespect to anyone's work intended, I am not commenting on the virus total of any wallets--- other than the one I compiled had a virus total one

which was the good old

ESET-NOD32    a variant of Win32/BitCoinMiner.BJ potentially unsafe , same link as was posted a few pages prior on thread

https://github.com/cinnamoncoin/MUE-Src/releases

Hey dev.......just went to update my wallet bud and very concerned with what I am seeing!  Running this new wallet through VirusTotal, I am getting 31 infections!!  Been around this game for a while bud and am quite used to false positives but there is NO way I can use a wallet with that many coming up and they are not all related to the miner in the wallet.  This number is INSANE compare to anything I have seen in crypto, I simply cannot use this wallet man.....this is just crazy!

Can we get a wallet without the built in miner or something so we can KNOW we have a clean wallet?
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: February 10, 2015, 08:03:33 PM
Give the pre-release a try:
https://github.com/MonetaryUnit/MUE-Src/releases/tag/1.0.0.0-b20e016

The miner is in a separate zip, you don't have to download it.

Just a heads up to all those who, like me, find the "Coin Control" function a little confusing.

Essentially, what it enables you to do, is combine all your "loose change" into "crisp new notes".
Think of it along the lines of wanting to pay for a car with loose change, having to put each coin into a slot, rather than just handing over a cheque covering the whole amount.
The Coin Control function allows you to combine all those little bits of "dust", into larger, more easier to manage lumps, that makes sending MUE much easier and quicker.
It's particularly useful if you mine to your wallet, which creates a lot of small transactions.

I haven't had a chance to toy with the new functionality on the pre-release, and for those who do want to, I thought this thread was quite useful  please feel free to expand on it;
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/12761-could-someone-please-explain-to-me-how-to-use-coin-control/

With this pre-release wallet with Coin Control, I spent about 5 minutes sending 100 MUE at a time to the wallet address I was sending from.
Doing this combines all these smaller transactions into fewer, larger transactions.
Now, 5 minutes later, I now have same balance (minus a few network fees from sending to myself) but now only 21 inputs, and I can happily send large quantities of MUE now from that wallet.

In a word...... AWESOME !!

Please do test this pre-release and feedback any issues to upgradeadvice through github, or here too....

Onwards and upwards Smiley

Yep, happy to see this wallet is clean as can be:-)

Redownloading the blockchain now.  Seems to struggle a bit in that it pulls a couple blocks then freezes for a short time then repeats this.  Is getting there though so no biggie.

Thanks again guys!

There is the bootstrap file that upgradeadvice has put together
https://github.com/MonetaryUnit/MUE-Src/releases/download/1.0.0.0-020415/bootstrap.tar.bz2
I haven't done it using that yet, but an overview is here:

Unless you know what you are doing, maybe leave that for another time..... (that's my disclaimer!)..but makes resyncing a minutes job rather than an hours job.
