For those who are cpu mining, I recommend the uncle-bob fork of quarkminer. He optimized a few things in asm which doubles hashrate vs Neisklar's original quark miner. For linux/mingw:Install libcurl development package or build from source Debian/Ubuntu: use aptitude to install libcurl4-openssl-dev or libcurl4-gnutls-dev git clone https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer cd quarkcoin-cpuminer ./autogen CFLAGS="-march=native -O3" ./configure make Run with a script or try:./minerd --algo quark --scantime 40 --url stratum+tcp://178.62.67.113:3032 --userpass <MUE address>:anything --threads 2 I like to base the threads setting on the actual number of cores per processor. Neisklar's:~100 khash/s on a sandybridge celeron with 2 threads ~200 khash/s on a sandybridge i7 with 4 threads uncle-bob's~200 khash/s on a sandybridge celeron with 2 threads ~400 khash/s on a sandybridge i7 with 4 threads

Hey dev.......just went to update my wallet bud and very concerned with what I am seeing! Running this new wallet through VirusTotal, I am getting 31 infections!! Been around this game for a while bud and am quite used to false positives but there is NO way I can use a wallet with that many coming up and they are not all related to the miner in the wallet. This number is INSANE compare to anything I have seen in crypto, I simply cannot use this wallet man.....this is just crazy!
Can we get a wallet without the built in miner or something so we can KNOW we have a clean wallet?

Here's a pre-release I've been working on. It includes a few bug fixes and Coin Control for moving small amounts into one address, among other things. For your convenience, I have also uploaded a windows binary of uncle-bobs minerd in a separate zip. https://github.com/MonetaryUnit/MUE-Src/releases/tag/1.0.0.0-b20e016I marked it as pre-release because it hasn't been extensively tested.

31 false positives from 31 out of 62 antivirus engines? Sounds about right for virustotal ;-)

Not sure what point you are trying to prove, but I have NEVER seen VirusTotal give this many supposed "false positives" on a wallet......this is INSANE compared to anything I have ever seen. There is NO way this can be trusted with those numbers, false or not.......one way or the other cannot be proven and anyone that installs a wallet that ANY antivirus is showing it to be that dirty is CRAZY man. The original wallet was NOTHING like this, yes it did have a few false positives but it was also VERY easy to tell they were FALSE positives!
Now I have no working wallet and cannot move any coins around and I will NOT be the only one, many people will check this wallet and MOST will use VirusTotal.......no way most will install this wallet like this and this WILL keep new people from coming in, this is a PROBLEM!

It's a fair point Jim, and we're working one getting the right balance. If you look at our Github, upgrade advice is dedicating a lot of time end expertise to move this project forward from the technical perspective, and in a short time has already done some fantastic work, and I for one am very grateful for having such an asset as part of the project Have a look at this (without the mining software), only 1/56 on virus total https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/4bb81af5a18f44b02d177fe2c0bc065fe660e2d54a5849a1940b1f0fabbb2185/analysis/download link https://mega.co.nz/#!TFUz1BZD!kt4Y61HBYCsFIHEmFNebvIRBiXuhWCPPDbHsdqAg0yAedit: This is the latest official release (but without the mining software), not the pre-release

No problem Mue! Greatly appreciate you guys having another option already out there. Apologies I have not been able to follow the project too closely as I have been buried with my other business, had no idea of other's involvement with the project so was hesitant to download anything from anyone but you or the OP.
I think you know I have had nothing but respect for you and this project since you first announced it, I was just taken by surprise in seeing those results on VT:-)

Yep, happy to see this wallet is clean as can be:-)
Redownloading the blockchain now. Seems to struggle a bit in that it pulls a couple blocks then freezes for a short time then repeats this. Is getting there though so no biggie.
Thanks again guys!

There is the bootstrap file that upgradeadvice has put together https://github.com/MonetaryUnit/MUE-Src/releases/download/1.0.0.0-020415/bootstrap.tar.bz2I haven't done it using that yet, but an overview is here: https://litecoin.info/Bootstrap.datUnless you know what you are doing, maybe leave that for another time..... (that's my disclaimer!)..but makes resyncing a minutes job rather than an hours job.

Just a heads up to all those who, like me, find the "Coin Control" function a little confusing. Essentially, what it enables you to do, is combine all your "loose change" into "crisp new notes". Think of it along the lines of wanting to pay for a car with loose change, having to put each coin into a slot, rather than just handing over a cheque covering the whole amount. The Coin Control function allows you to combine all those little bits of "dust", into larger, more easier to manage lumps, that makes sending MUE much easier and quicker. It's particularly useful if you mine to your wallet, which creates a lot of small transactions. I haven't had a chance to toy with the new functionality on the pre-release, and for those who do want to, I thought this thread was quite useful please feel free to expand on it; https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/12761-could-someone-please-explain-to-me-how-to-use-coin-control/

I had a test wallet with a balance of about 2000 MUE. This was made of about 2000 inputs of small transactions which meant when it came to sending MUE from this wallet I kept getting the "transaction creation error" message whenever I tried to send over a few hundred MUE. With this pre-release wallet with Coin Control, I spent about 5 minutes sending 100 MUE at a time to the wallet address I was sending from. Doing this combines all these smaller transactions into fewer, larger transactions. Now, 5 minutes later, I now have same balance (minus a few network fees from sending to myself) but now only 21 inputs, and I can happily send large quantities of MUE now from that wallet. In a word...... AWESOME !! Please do test this pre-release and feedback any issues to upgradeadvice through github, or here too.... Onwards and upwards
