221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkt is a new hope? on: November 09, 2018, 10:59:47 PM
Do you think crypto market will pump?

I don't think so, it's true that many people are waiting for the Bakkt launch but I think they will be disappointed since it will not impact on bitcoin price as they expect in the short term.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China lifts ban on cryptocurrency on: November 09, 2018, 07:16:36 PM
True, though the news was very exciting for crypto community, but if we keep spreading fake or uncertain news it will harm crypto itself. But however after I read your source, the Chinese Government allow the use of crypto for payment method, and it is legal backed by the law, so it is a really goodnews, but they still ban trading, ico investment, and any event related to crypto, so I hope it gives a little support to crypto market.

There is little chance that China will remove those bans in the future since they think they are protecting their citizens with these measures, so I would not expect much in that sense.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Acceptance. on: November 09, 2018, 05:41:46 PM
Many of them are not really coins, so it will not be possible for them to be accepted if they are as likely to happen. So only some can be accepted

This is an important thing to take into account, there are more tokens than coins right now. Tokens are usually conceived to be used in a specific platform and nothing else. If we are talking about coins that can be adopted as a payment method, I guess this is what OP is talking about, these coins will be Bitcoin and two or three altcoins being LTC one of them.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Scam on: November 08, 2018, 05:06:02 PM
I don't understand how people can fall into this scam, did they really believe that Elon Musk was going to send them 10 BTC so easily? It's true that this time the scam was much more elaborated since there were some hacked verified accounts involved, but using common sense should have been enough.

Yes , I think. That's the reason why many people get into this, because they knew Elon Musk as a rich person and they knew that Mr.Musk also believe in crytpo and they saw a proof of received by the other account

Sure, but they forgot that rich people never give away anything. Besides, they should have suspected something was wrong when they were asked to send some BTC before receiving the gift.

226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why the SEC would want to stop institutional investment into Bitcoin? on: November 08, 2018, 11:43:24 AM
I think it would be very easy for the SEC to close that door if they wanted to. They simply could say “we will never accept a Bitcoin ETF and we will not receive any application related to Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency” so I have to assume that their reasons are real. This does not exclude the possibility that they may be under pressure from entities described in point 4.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the rise of immersive technologies increase the popularity of Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2018, 11:03:03 PM
In light of the new developments in technology, is it safe to assume that the sudden interests in immersive technologies is the boost needed to make Bitcoin and other virtual currencies the future of finance?

I don't think so, I don't see the connection between those two concepts, unless Bitcoin is absolutely needed to access or use immersive technologies, which is not very likely to happen.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kevin Rooke about stablecoins on: November 07, 2018, 05:00:15 PM
Competition is always good, that's clear, however, the problem with the stablecoins is that they have a very limited utility and, at the end, only one or two will remain, what will happen with the rest? 45 projects are too many.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google to Protect Its Users From Cryptojacking on: November 07, 2018, 12:06:21 PM
It's a bit worrying that Google have expected so long before implementing these security measures which they should have implemented since the beginning.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why regular people are afraid to invest in Crypto on: November 06, 2018, 08:33:30 PM
The prices have been constantly falling during all this year, besides, there is still a quite negative publicity about cryptos on media. I think this discourages many people to get into cryptocurrencies.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MetaMask mobile on: November 06, 2018, 06:58:17 PM
I still have my doubts about how safe can a system that uses mobiles in general can be regarding crypto. Just to mention one stupid case: people loose their cell phones everyday.
If their phone is stolen, thieves will not be able to access their phone because they do not have a password or fingerprint verification so I found it reasonable and safe

It depends on the password, if it's the user's birthday or something similar, it will be easy to guess. In addition to this, if the user doesn't protect his phone with a pin, the chances increase.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is there any chance that bitcoin prices will increase by the end of this year? on: November 03, 2018, 03:55:12 PM
I don't think it will happen. The general sentiment around bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is still negative and I think the launch of Bakkt will not have the immediate effect many people expect.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: tv show "startup" (about crypto) on: November 03, 2018, 12:30:18 PM
As far as I see, people might associate crypto with murders, kidnapping, blackmail and the darkmarket. Grin
This is negative propaganda over the crypto world. Grin

It's possible, but take into account that it's not a documentary but a TV series, it's fiction. The audience should be intelligent enough to know the difference.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are you ready for the next D-day? on: November 03, 2018, 12:37:01 AM
There are no signs that can make us think that any of these ETFs will be approved soon. There are not even significant movements in the market in these previous days. It seems like all the people who was expecting for an ETF approval have assumed that this will not happen this year.

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 is coming soon on: November 02, 2018, 09:40:54 PM
I think the big question about Serenity is whether Ethereum can still be considered a decentralized cryptocurrencie at this stage. Other projects that use PoS only are still extremely centralized. Some with many powers for who owns enough coins. As is the case with EOS and NEO.

If they do, most of these other platforms will be irrelevant and will disappear. Either way we will have a bull run since many are trying to accumulate as much as they can while the price is so low.

I guess the whales and big players will be the ones who will do that. They will be incentivized to buy large amounts of ETH and keep/stake them to get the rewards. People who buy small amounts will prefer to sell at a higher price than stake, so those big players will keep buying more. Surely there will be a large concentration of coins in few hands.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto Exchange Hack on: November 02, 2018, 05:51:33 PM
With the increased rate on hack on crypto Exchanges, many has began to fear. Actually this is not good for the crypto world.

What would be your suggestions to any crypto exchange to enhance security and avoid being hacked?

Every single exchange out there knows very well what are the measures they have to take to ensure the security of their platforms but it seems that they are too lazy or confident to take them. The problem it's not that they don't know what they have to do, it's that they don't do it.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are stabletokens going to be the new altcoin hype? on: November 01, 2018, 11:00:15 PM
I don't think so, these tokens have no utility outside exchanges and there are too many doubts about their reliability. At the end, only one or two of them will be adopted by exchanges and in a few months we will not hear about them anymore.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: about atomic wallet !? on: November 01, 2018, 06:17:55 PM
hello , i have s simple question what if i have the private keys i got from atomic wallet and suddently your site goes off forever ( i dont need ""our site will be online forever"" as an answer please ) what should i do at this situation ? thank you

If you really can export and save your private keys, you should be able to import them into any other wallet client later. Just remember that you will need the specific keys of each coin.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: It's time to sell on: November 01, 2018, 04:27:20 PM
The biggest problem many people will face if they want to sell their coins now is the fact that they will hardly find any buyer since there is almost no demand right now, especially when it comes to inactive coins. They will be lucky if they are able to sell those unwanted coins at this moment.
240  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin Telegram channel hacked. Don't download any file! on: October 31, 2018, 08:38:28 PM
As a general recommendation, never download any file from Telegram. I wonder how they have been able to hack that specific account since they need to know the phone number and access to the device of the kucoin channel administrator.
