Did the android wallet ever get released? I wanna put some sys on my phone.

from what i have been hearing, it is complete but they are waiting for ios certfication so that both can be released at the same time.

Hey sorry I've been a bit MIA the past few days we've been busy with some internal stuff and at the same time we've had a wave of new people coming on board to help out which is awesome! We want to make sure that communication and work being done by this larger communal team (The Syscoin Foundation as we've been callin it) is clear to all involved and also is still being communicated to the outside world.

We're still working on Blockmarket Beta and Syscoin wallet V2 as well- I still have to update the roadmap page and the version number on the SYS homepage. I need to talk to a teammate re: mobile wallets for a more concrete update there.

I'll post up with more news this weekend its just been a busy week. Also there was a rumor that coderboo is no longer working on Syscoin? That's false. I work with him actually daily on Syscoin related topics he just hasn't been posting as much because unfortunately legal work does take up time and energy and is one of those things we "can't talk about"; that aside he is still very active, and like me would like to get back to focusing on Syscoin code-level work.

Thanks for the update, Danosphere. As soon as you find out about the IOS wallet, we are ready to listen  Wink

Your investors are biting an already bloody tongue.  Been to the exchange lately?  Tunnel vision is not the answer.  sphericon hammered out an app over a few days, something your "TEAMS" familiarity with your code could have done in hours.

Yes i  did and it is far from perfect. I have been talking to danosphere about syscoin and I support him and the team 100%. They are doing as much as possible to get everything running. You guys need to relax. Lots of great things are ahead in the near future.

I have personally seen something on irc in the last 8 hours that will blow the entire crypto community away once the dev finishes testing. If you don't believe in syscoin at this point you are a damn fool. Sell me your syscoin.

Perfect can't be built unless you know the entire story.  Sphericon, I hold no grudge against you, your intentions are golden with me.

Well thanks for that. You know I am just trying to do right by this coin. I also truly believe in it as an entity that has the ability to really change the crypto landscape. In time others will come around to this way of thinking as well.

The ability to tie in the purchase transaction is key.. the transaction has to be one that you made and hasn't had feedback yet... then you can give feedback after an order has been made at any time in the future.

I agree with this. The challenge I see is that the marketplace and the data elements are in no way connected other than the blockchain.  AFAIK there is currently no method in place in the Syscoin code which allows a user to post related elements (e.g. a data alias tied to a marketplace transaction).  This may need to be added into the core code to be enforceable.

The cool thing I did with aliases is.. if you type in a syscoin address to search it will also search it as an alias if that syscoin address isn't valid. If the address is valid it assumes that is what you want to search. This is for any command that takes in a syscoin address(alias is also valid in any of these cases).. so it doesn't even matter if you use aliases or addresses technically but its better to follow convention and using aliases is probably more usable for a search feature like this.

Usually ppl using our services would have an alias registered. We should make the language as such to sway people to use aliases everywhere.

I'm curious about what you did with aliases. Did you have a specific website or product available that utilizes them? I'm just trying to figure out how everyone is using the various features of Syscoin. My next foray will be into certificates, to see what they are about and think up ways to use them.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: December 07, 2014, 12:02:31 PM
Why not put the Syscoin Marketplace ranking system right on the Syscoin blockchain using data aliases?

Syscoin data aliases  have some unique and powerful features. Data on the blockchain is essentially “broadcast” to the entire network in one confirmation, with the “dataupdate” command in the console, and viewable by all using the “datainfo” command.

Yet control of the data is restricted to one syscoin address at a time.

This makes for some potentially elegant solutions to some thorny problems, such as this one - how to publicly rank merchants in the marketplace, but authenticate the data and prevent spam.

Let us say I purchase a widget from sphericon and want to submit a ranking of that transaction. I can update my ranking data alias (lets call it “my_reviews”) with the buyer’s and seller’s addressees, the transaction ID, and my ranking score for that transaction.  This is done right in the marketplace client. If a sufficient number of buyers did this after each purchase, the client would be able to query the blockchain to both authenticate the validity of the scores submitted, and display the score next to the seller in the client.

So I think it makes perfect sense to store a ranking for a particular user in the blockchain using the Syscoin alias system.  We could come up with some custom properties in the data alias (AKA "seller profile") that could be referenced in other data aliases (AKA "user review"), not unlike a SQL database join. This could either be programmed into the marketplace or could be implemented into the Syscoin wallet at some point like you were suggesting.

The other option would be to create a website that allows users to rate specific addresses (sellers) like yelp. The problem would be that this data is centralized and therefore could be tampered with.

The truly honest solution would be to store any ratings in the blockchain. You would potentially get the problem of spam/defamation, but with a small cost of SYS to post, you could eliminate any large amount of spam.

My Proposal:

Buy an item, and then after receiving, create a new data alias:
Code:
syscoind datanew "/rating/[syscoin address or alias of seller]/[transaction of purchase]/[positive or negative boolean value]"

This would be part of the "rating" dataset, and would reference both the seller's Syscoin address/alias as well as the transaction of the specific accepted purchase. There should only be a way to rate a seller on an item that the user has actually purchased. The rating would be a "good" or "bad" value, stored as 'true/false' in the data alias name.

After creation, the user could attach data to this rating:

Code:
syscoind dataactivate < dataName > < guid > [ < txid > ] < filename > < data >

The key part here is the "data" portion. this can store a base64-encoded chunk of data with a maximum size of 256kB. I'm thinking this could be used for a low-resolution picture, either showing a picture of the item with a hand drawn username or some other proof that this is a legit transaction. This would be optional of course, but could serve to further validate the seller as well as buyer. Additionally, if this "data" element was further encoded, we could split it out into multiple pieces of information, such as a picture and a comment.

Once this has been completed, a user or application could simply query the data aliases on the blockchain using the datafilter command:

Code:
syscoind datafilter < regexp >

The regex could look for anything with the "/rating/address" chunk in the name and then do some sort of percent calculation of feedback, as well as return a list of comments associated with the data.  This could then be used to show ratings for a user in a completely distributed fashion. Clearly the code is too complex to be used by your average user to actually rate a user, but an app could be developed to handle the back-end stuff. A full list of the data commands is here if people are interested in researching further/other methods to do this.

Thoughts?

How would others feel about getting a 7 day sponsorship at bittrex?

I simply had the idea, and know ive invested in a number of coins simply because i saw they were sponsored and i was anticipating volitility. Feel free to correct me if this is a bad idea but i would toss in .1 (possibly more depending on others interest) to do so. Price is 2btc for 7 days

Maybe this might be something to hold off on until more releases come our way?

Personally got mixed emotions about this. If you promote on bittrex you are just playing into the hype for pumpers and dumpers. I thought this coin was more than that, about innovation? Trying to actively push this coin with that much BTC is sorta waste of money IMO. I know we want traders, but adverstising straight where the pumpers and dumpers do their dirty work maybe not best use of BTC.

Perhaps we could instead take a donation for PR for the coin. I think you can get a basic press release for around $175. This would give our coin a little bit of a new audience, and perhaps draw some people in.

Beautiful to see work you ve done with the marketplace! Congrats on a bounty. SYS looks like its back on track.

Cheers mate! The bounty was a nice thing to get, but the marketplace is why I started looking at this coin in the first place. I see the possibilities that exist for it, and with the other technology that Syscoin brings to the table, I can't help but get excited  Shocked

yawn pump dump rinse and repeat B)

Haha, don't be naive. This rise is because people are starting to find out about this coin and see all of the cool tech in action. I see it continuing the climb until it's at least 1000 sat and rising. It doesn't matter though, because once the Syscoin marketplace is in full swing and the rest of the features are announced by the dev team, people will want to use it for its intended purpose--a currency, not a tradable asset.

1000 sat?  Not going to happen for a while if it can, too many ICO holders that want out at this point.  They won't let it go over 140-160 sat trying to minimize losses when they dump and right back down to +/- 100 sat it goes.  This is going to go on because the ICO investors do not have confidence in the coin anymore because they got left out in the cold when the dev's focused on the BTC theft, confidence can be expensive.  At the end of their day in court they probably will not have recovered anything.  Better results would have been achieved with duct tape, queer town fire hydrant, and a thief in the hands of his victims rather than a court room that really doesn't care if SYS gets their BTC back, and A DA only seeking a conviction mark on his belt.

It may take some time, but it will get there.  Some ICO investors will dump, but I think this statement is not true:

I would agree that some probably don't have confidence in the coin, and out of those that haven't already sold, there are a group that will sell.  On the other hand, there is also a group that does have confidence in the coin and likes what they are seeing with development.  Lately, I've seen more and more people comment positively on this thread that I haven't seen before, as well as more and more come into IRC to check Syscoin out. Call me mental, but I think that's a good sign of things to come.

Meanwhile there were pretty good feature discussion on our IRC channel (#syscoin), for example the new ASIN feature @Sphericon just introduced into his market app.
In this matter I need to mention, that this is some features that are built on the front-end site, some will make it into the blockchain as a general feature, some will not. We must not bloat it with too much information per design (else we have something like SAP R3, who ever used it knows what i mean Wink ).

Go on developing, this is awesome!

Thank you very much! I am not stopping now though, I will keep developing this app until Syscoin becomes mainstream. I can see it happening!

that would be @dano but I am pretty sure if you read it, it said it was a test.

It was a test? What do u mean?

There is a bug in the syscoin client that returns the *fee* charged by the system as the price of the item instead of the actual price. Once this is fixed and released with new binaries, everything on the blockchain should be considered live.

I saw dano mention in IRC they have released source code with this fix and they just need to build the binaries and post.

very nice sphericon.. so how does the payment flow work.. using rpc or uri scheme?

What does amazon integration get you? Would it autocreate an amazon listing when you create a syscoin listing?

the payment flow executes multiple commands via RPC-everything is handled in the app. Currently the syscoin-qt client requires a user to run "offeraccept," wait for that to be added to the blockchain, then "offerpay."  The app handles this by putting items you have accepted to buy into the pending column on the main app window, then once they have a few confirmations, it will allow you to pay for them. The app will then automatically deduct the appropriate amount from your wallet as per the RPC command spec.

Amazon integration really just adds a link that will tell more about product reviews. To use this, just put the ASIN number of the item from amazon into the seller ASIN input box when listing an item.
