221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the Biggest Bubble in Human History? on: June 09, 2018, 03:40:54 PM
The market is finally showing some weakness after a wild post-election stock market run-up, and it's taking Bitcoin with it. At least so far.

Three years ago, Bitcoin was under $400, a price I thought was too high even then. As far as I'm concerned, Bitcoin has no intrinsic value and should be worth nothing. So why does anyone think it's worth thousands (and in some cases, millions) of dollars?
It's the theory of false scarcity. There are a limited number of bitcoins in the world and the usage of blockchain technology has assigned the ownership of each coin to specific wallets owned by individuals. So to take "ownership," I have to use the universal blockchain mechanism, accepted by all as valid, to transfer a coin.

No, it is indeed like bubble, but it is not a bubble, trust me. The bubble won't be lasting much unlike bitcoin.
until now bitcoin is still exist, so bitcoin is not a bubble for me. There are many holders and believers of bitcoin in this community as well.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can a goverment trace you have BTC? on: June 09, 2018, 03:24:21 PM
How can the government discover I own BTC, let's say I'm from Venezuela where crypto is banned, what they can do to discover and arrest me?

They can discover your bitcoin if they look the data of your exchange. Usually exchanges require KYC and you must submit your identity.
The exchange will have your information, and could give it to them if it legally require by them. Your exchange address will have a record to your personal address if you used it to do transactions.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is etherium good for long term on: June 07, 2018, 02:54:42 PM
Can i trust on etherium project
I want to hold it for long term 5-10 years
Can i use hardware wallet (ledger or trezor)?

Yes you can hold ETH for long, it is like bitcoin. ETH has increased far from initial price in 2014.
If you keep holding from now, few years later you can sell your ETH with multiple times amount of your bought price!!
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto for Day Trading on: June 07, 2018, 02:35:21 PM
I heard knowing how to effectively read candlesticks help a lot in crypto day trading. What's your take?

candlestick is only one of the knowledge in trading. Beside that, you must study and learn about crypto movement.
it is very different from stocks trading. To become successful in trading crypto, not only candlestick knowledge, but other knowledge is needed as well.
225  Other / Archival / Re: Why to Invest in ICO? on: June 06, 2018, 09:05:46 AM
Why people invest in ICO when it is risky and these days most of the coins are dropping. Do you think ICOs are going to survive for a long time?

Because despite a quite risk in ICO investment, the returns of investment of ICO is very good too.
I think ICO will survive for long time because many companies already using ICO to collect capital funds from investors.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people don’t believe in crypto? on: June 05, 2018, 07:32:19 AM
Hey guys, why do you think people don’t believe in crypto? The potential of crypto is great. Moreover crypto is the currency of the future! Do you agree?

Because some peoples or even many peoples still don't know about the potential of cryptocurrency.
There are only some peoples that believed in crypto potential and decide to spend their money and time in crypto.
Cryptocurrency could become the currency of the future if everyone keep spread the word about cryptocurrency potential.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin under 1$ to invest in now? on: June 05, 2018, 07:02:00 AM
Hello! Guys I am looking for coin under 1$ with some good Basics. maybe some coin that I can hold for 2 to 3 year. Am planning to add some more folios? All the suggestion are Open. Huh Huh

If you are searching for coins below $1, maybe there are some of them with a good project. The rest of them, either the price more than $1 or not good project. Instead look for coin, why not look for tokens ? There are many good project tokens with price below $1.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin transaction fee keeps increasing? on: June 04, 2018, 05:04:21 AM
Hi guys,i just wanna knows that why the transaction fee for bitcoins is increasing everyday. Some days before i send bitcoin to a trader the fee was 0.0005btc but yesterday i repeat the same transaction same amount then the fee was 0.0006 btc.

Please correct me if i am posted in wrong section. Smiley

I think it is depends on the network of bitcoin. If they processed much transactions, the fee of transaction could be more expensive.
but for me, the fee is still ok as long not exceed $3. In ETH, if network is crowded, the gas fee of ETH can increased much.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency on: June 04, 2018, 04:51:35 AM
Bitcoin was supposed to be used as a currency, not only a form of investment. However, it's been more successful as a form of investment, a "speculative asset".

Do you guys think that this can change in the long term ?

More like 'Not yet success' for me. For bitcoin to become a currency is a long goal because bitcoin need to beat fiat money first.
Of course it is necessary for bitcoin to improve and develop the platform to be able to used by many peoples. The value of bitcoin is still fluctuating much.
But we dont know the future, it could be stable as gold.
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy Privacy Privacy! on: June 04, 2018, 04:16:41 AM
Privacy is not stressed enough in crypto world! Every information is made public. No real working app can be built until the privacy problem is solved!

Privacy is one of the essential value in cryptocurrency. You dont know that your transaction cannot be traced if you are using some coins like monero, do you ?
But if you want to investing on project ICO's, you will need to provide your information indeed, but they don't share it on public.
231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again, Bitcoin described as a Bubble. on: June 03, 2018, 11:25:46 AM
It doesn't matter if bitcoin is a bubble or not. If other peoples says so, then for me bitcoin is still not a bubble.
Because i know that bitcoin will exist now and later, not burst and vanish.
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Those who sold bitcoin are in for a big loss on: June 02, 2018, 08:18:45 AM
It can be helped, they sold their coin because maybe they need some money to use.
otherwise they wont sell their btc on the low price because they wont get any profit. investing in cryptocurrency need to be long term.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more risky? Bitcoin or bank investment? on: June 02, 2018, 07:50:16 AM
Bitcoin is indeed risky. But bank investments are risky too. In our country (coz I'm not sure if this exist in other countries). When you have a large amount on your account they will call you and ask you if you want to invest, minimum of 20,000 Php (or 400 USD). They will propose some investment plans where there is a choice of low, medium, or high risk investment. When you choose the high risk there is a chance to lose or gain 100% of your investment (Medium is 75% and low is 50% if I remember it right). It doesn't make sense to me, it sounds like a scam, they will invest using your money and you don't have any control to it. That is why I like bitcoin more, coz Though it is risky and it's very volatile, you have full control on your investment.

What do you guys think?

i have never heard investment like in your country but indeed it has a high risk.
i prefer invest my money in cryptocurrency just like you said, we have full control of our money.
what the important of investing in crypto is patience, without patience you cannot achieved full profit.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: June 01, 2018, 08:29:19 AM

235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin still a buy despite recent losses on: June 01, 2018, 08:14:39 AM
according to the news at CNBC here is why:
the coin has seen better days. After surging last December to around $19,500, bitcoin has declined more than 50 percent since the start of the year. On Thursday, amid increased regulatory scrutiny in the cryptocurrency space, the coin fell yet again — this time below $8,000, where bitcoin had hovered for several weeks. Late Friday, bitcoin changed hands around $7,400.

Regardless, Bogart(a partner at blockchain capital) said it's still a buy. In fact, he said it's the only coin traders should be buying as the coin becomes more mainstream.

Many of the other forms of cryptocurrency, Bogart said, are "over-promising and under-delivering. Meanwhile you have a few that are kind of excelling at their use cases. Bitcoin being one of them." Bogart recommended selling coins like Cardano, TRON, IOTA and NEO.

"A lot of those tokens are overvalued," Bogart said. "They could be go up significantly, but they also have significant headwind." Alternatives like ethereum, ripple, bitcoin cash and EOS, however, he described as "neutral" — and he told investors to hold for now.

what are your insights why does bitcoin still a buy in spite of all the losses?

im not buying bitcoin but i am still buying altcoins such as ETH and EOS to keep hold for future despite the losses.
Crypto market seems want to preparing the bull run for this year at currently. i just hoping my hunch come true.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Remember, Bitcoin is the best Cryptocurrency to Hodl. on: June 01, 2018, 08:03:53 AM
At a time when the price of cryptocurrencies fluctuate sharply at any sign of not too good news, do not press the panic red button on your Bitcoin.
Remember the Pizza guy!
In Bitcoin I trust, come Bull or Bear.

Yes, if you remember the pizza guy, you will eager too buying more bitcoin to hold for future.
buying now is a good decision because the price still low. Another bull market seems to be coming in this year nearly.
237  Other / Off-topic / Re: Isn't crazy how much does bitcoin exchange earn? on: May 31, 2018, 03:04:03 AM
i just did a simple calculation, about 35k bitcoins are traded on GDAX every day. At its current price of $6900 and a trading fee of 0.3%, the exchange puts about $700,000 in its pocket EACH DAY and it is ONLY for bitcoin. After including all other cryptos, this number can go up to more than $2MM. Since the exchange is active 365 days a year, the exchange's annual revenue can reach almost $1bn!!

Why did you look GDAX ? Look another bigger exchange like binance. You will surprised more!
cryptocurrency has a very big volume in the market to trade now. The big exchanges will have a very very good incomes because the market growth.
238  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin & College students . on: May 31, 2018, 02:51:44 AM
I believe that a huge portion of the the crypto community are still young college students that don't have any necessities that need another source of income aside from their scholarships / the money they are getting from their parents .
And apart from spending their cryptos on either betting or purchasing goods/video games from online markets , many of these students didn't make plans for what they'll do with their coins in the future.
I myself have had many thoughts about hodling and launching a business as soon as i graduate with the coins in my possession , yet i'm not exactly sure what i'll be doing ..
So i'm really curious about :
- On what do you spend your coins apart than partying/gambling/paying for tuition loans ?
- Do you have any future plans for your coins if you are hodling any ?

College students who decide to buy crpytocurrency for their savings is a smart student.
We already know that bitcoin value has gone too far from the starting price on 2009.
and not impossible for bitcoin to increased more this year. Investing on it may result a decent earnings.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto VS national currency on: May 31, 2018, 02:34:18 AM
I found this expression on the news channel about the crypto currency: "Anyone who will try  to buy coffee for cash in 2023, runs the risk of causing laughter from the seller, that he does not use crypto currency."
how do you think, is it realistic? Can a crypto currency replace national  money?
I think that it's possible, but it will take more time.

Don't worry about future, crypto will need more time to be used by peoples as a national or even international currency in the world.
first they need to fixing their value on fiat. Value of crpytocurrency is volatile for now.
You can buy 1 cup of coffee now and 2 cups after next months with the same amount of bitcoin.
240  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Expectation of investment return from BTC. on: May 30, 2018, 05:09:03 AM
Some people invest in BTC for long period of time with an expectation of large amount. And some people invest for short period of time with an aim to short gain by using the volatility. Which one you choose most? and Why? Just sharing ideas.

Some peoples who using the volatility of bitcoin is a day trader i think. but such profession will very time consuming and energy consuming to do.
i prefer to buy it and hold it long time because it require less effort to do so.
