haha, who else would try to pull this shit other than some guy from my goddamn country... Grin

anyways, I assume you bought your card(or intend to) via njuškalo(croatia's craigslist)
that's the thing when buying stuff from craigslist, you have to realize you're getting(at best) a new/not used much or used product which comes cheaper than buying from an authorized seller/retailer for the price of not getting a warranty and possibly a product without included accessories you would get otherwise.

In other words, buying stuff from craigslist/ebay/etc. is a gamble and the question is can you afford that?
if you can't, then save up some more and buy cards from a retailer like most people do.
or accept a gamble but don't ever try to pull that thing...

people are not that stupid.

actually card's serial number provides some info such as manufacturer, date of production, type of gddr memory(i think)...

from zotac:
Warranty claims will be void if the user:
·         Tampers, defaces, or removes any stickers containing product identification information such as model number, serial number, or part number.

Rofl Cheesy

They are brand new, unopened. Probably he have some ways to order them cheaper or smth, no idea. They are not fake or used 100% just no invoice and he probably dont want to print one to not connect himself or whatever.

can i stake already? is there a guide 2 compile on ubuntu?

No.   Undecided

What is the purpose of this coin? Why should we support it?

For fun

amazing. Use electricity for fun and spend my hashing power.

Ok i seen it's used for Forum. Anything else?

I asked seriously. Right now i support Signatum, but i consider moving to this coin as next but Signatum have some use, devs are working on project and such. All i see here is just another coin, but for what? I would like to do more research on it if i am missing something.

Cheers!

Also is this coin mined already or what? Does we all start fresh when new algo is implemented in few days? I am a bit lost in this thread.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU warranty trick - Question on: September 02, 2017, 10:33:57 PM

But it's retarded. IF i legit bought Zotac card for example and lost my invoice or something, i am not able to claim warranty. That sux...

I would agree with you on that point and you would probably be able to make a claim if you persisted hard enough. But on the other hand why wouldn't you have an invoice if you as you say legitimately bought the card from an authorized re-seller? At the least, they could send you a new copy so you could receive service.

if i have a card and that card is faulty factory should replace it regardless. It's their obligation to make sure card works for 3 years after it's been produced... doesnt matter if i have invoice or not lolz xD

This is totally disagree with you on. They are under no obligation to honor a warranty for cards that are not sold through authorized channels.

Say for instance they manufactured a batch of cards that didn't pass their QA testing for some reasons, and maybe they have a contract with a recycling company to buy the defective cards from them at a bit less than cost and the other company makes its money by reclaiming the components. Now that other company goes through and tests each card before the reclaiming process, and maybe they are a bit unscrupulous. They may set cards aside that might fire up and kinda run, and then sell these at a discount (compared to normal wholesale) to another shady re-seller, who turns around and sells them to someone like you for a discount. Of course no one can offer an invoice as the whole thing is shady as hell but they do lure in some people who think getting a 40-50% discount on a brand new card is somehow legit.

Well now then we have a card that the manufacturer thought was disposed of turning back up to be serviced from a scammed customer. So how is that their responsibility to fix?

Of course this is just one of hundreds of possible scenarios of how you came to posses your card, but the point is if the seller is not willing to provide documentation or a invoice with a valid serial number to obtain warranty, you should be looking to shop elsewhere. You bought the card at a discount knowing that it could be an gamble, and now that you have lost that bet you want the manufacturer to come to the rescue. Sorry to say, but with that attitude you seem to be not a lot better than the scammers who took advantage of you in the first place.

So far all my cards i have are legit bought and all my warranties are fine. But i found some seller selling 20% cheaper GTX's 1070, and one of models he sells are Zotacs, but he doesnt give any invoice with them. So i was curtious can i switch labels or just use warranty without invoice in case this cheaper Zotac malfunctions while mining.

I noticed switching labels can be risky and stupid so i wont try that.

Second is try to claim warranty without invoice. Although i havent bought anything from him yet but i am curious if i buy it, can i settle my warranty, coz maybe seller tries to fuck me up if i try to ask him for replacement. I cant rely on him, i rather make sure i can do this directly with Manfacturer.

"cannot claim manufacturer warranty if i don't have invoice"

Laws very from country to country, I'm not familiar with the laws in your country, BUT some manufacturers will say things that are not legal...check with the laws of your country/state and make sure what they are saying is true to the law.

Did you use a credit card to buy the card?

How did you buy the non-working card?

Also there are some video's online about diagnosing and fixing cards, but that is a long shot.

Zotac's warranty policy seems ridiculous and probably not legal in many countries, especially EU countries.

https://www.zotac.com/in/page/product-warranty-policy

OP where are you from?

I am from Europe - Croatia. Basicaly i have 10 Zotac cards that i bought from a store and i have invoice. But found some guy that can get also cheap Zotac cards, same model, but like 20% cheaper. Downside is, he doesnt give an invoice. So was thinking either to change labels (but i guess it's to risky) or if something goes wrong with GPU, claim factory warranty.

I contacted Zotac via live chat, i told i am from Europe, croatia and asked can i claim warranty if i dont have invoice. Guy said no xD

I guess i wont mess with it. Probably wouldnt work. But it's sad i cannot claim manufacturer warranty if i dont have invoice. I wanted to buy some cheap RoG Strix 1070 for around 350 euros but i dont want to take the risk.

I'll rather pay 100 euro more and be safe for next 3 years.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU warranty trick - Question on: August 31, 2017, 04:32:07 PM
Greetings!

Is it possible to swap GPU-s for warranty?

Let me explain.

I have 10 Zotac GPU-s and i have bill for them. If i bought 1 more Zotac GPU without bill/invoice (they wont approve my warranty if something fu*ks as they require if you to have invoice) and that one malfunctions, can i switch serial number labels from a GPU that i legit bought in a store, put it on that malfunctioning GPU without a bill and return them that GPU that didnt had invoice, so they take my warranty on that GPU.

Some guy is selling cheap GPU-s without invoice but in case something goes wrong i would like to be able to claim warranty somehow. They are legit GPU-s ofc, unopened and such, but he doesnt give me bill as he gets them from somewhere and doesnt pay taxes for it.

Cheers!

People like you is why I do not sell on eBay anymore. Too many buyer's filing fake defective claims and swapping and seller's taking a hit.

Even if it's possible, don't do that dude

Why?

But it's retarded. IF i legit bought Zotac card for example and lost my invoice or something, i am not able to claim warranty. Actualy i do not plan to fu*k anyone. I just want my card replaced. If seller replace the card and card is really faulty, they dont lose anything. It's not like i sold something that's faulty or refunded cash after sale etc.

And this what you say about ebay. That is a bit different. They take ur working card and put their defective and tell it doesnt work. Then you do really take a hit. But if seller returns the item and all labels are correct, unless there is some inner label or inside BIOS then seller might have problems. But in that case i wouldnt do it. I would try do it only if i can really make this faulty card without invoice appear as one i bought with invoice.

Halving took place and mining rewards (in USD) are already moving up, now at about 75% of the value they were before the 50% rewards adjustment.

Dead?

My ass.

If coin halves and difficulty reduces by half, your earnings stay the same. In few days probably i'll gain 160 sigt per day per 100MH/s, just like before halving.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Signatum - New Algorithm - Fair Launch - No Premine - Cryptopia on: August 22, 2017, 01:43:57 PM
Would it be possible for someone with 2116 Sig to kill the block chain when it gets to proof of stake?

This is not my area of expertise, but if my numbers are within 4-5 orders of magnitude this is a critical issue.

if interest is paid hourly, as has been stated, it must be recorded on the block chain.

Not sure interest will be paid hourly, where did you read that ?
I believe I read it somewhere on here.  Page 10 of the white paper actually says it is paid every 5 minutes.

A 5 minute payout would be 0.0000004756 so 0.02102608 Sig per wallet, but you would only need 15,000.  15,000 * 0.02102608 + 150 = 465.3912

Main.cpp sets
Code:
nSubsidy = nCoinAge * COIN_YEAR_REWARD * 33 / (365 * 33 + 8)

From what I can tell it simplifies to "nCoinAge * 13689"  All the math is e-8, but if nCoinAge is the mature coins and it runs every 5 minutes then this is a 1400% return.

Hopefully I am wrong.

Edit: Fixed exponential.

I flipped the nSubsidy calculation around and for 5% return it would be 365.24242424242424242424242424224 payments, so daily payments considering leap year.  This would be the second functional error I have found in the white paper.

So 43516 Sig used to create 4320000 addresses with 0.00007305 Sig each could flood the chain with interest transactions?

Try to reach devs or something. I am also curious about this.

Read my upper post. I asked the simplest solution. I dont need to shut down GPU-s. I just need to close the miner application.

IF temp on GPU 0 or 1 or 2 or whatever = 70 degrees - Close CWIgm.exe

try

--max-temp=70 option

That doesnt do what i was looking for. It just throttles ur GPU, like, slows it down to keep temperature under that number. And it slows down ur mining or stops it on that GPU if it needs to throttle GPU too much.

ok, if you want just close miner app, use external batch file.

for get temp use nvidia-smi.exe --id=0 --query-gpu=temperature.gpu --format=csv,noheader,nounits , where --id=0 - you GPU

like as (for 6 GPUs)

for /F %%p in ('"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvidia-smi" --id^=0 --query-gpu^=temperature.gpu --format^=csv^,noheader^,nounits') do set gpu_temp0=%%p
for /F %%p in ('"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvidia-smi" --id^=1 --query-gpu^=temperature.gpu --format^=csv^,noheader^,nounits') do set gpu_temp1=%%p
for /F %%p in ('"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvidia-smi" --id^=2 --query-gpu^=temperature.gpu --format^=csv^,noheader^,nounits') do set gpu_temp2=%%p
for /F %%p in ('"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvidia-smi" --id^=3 --query-gpu^=temperature.gpu --format^=csv^,noheader^,nounits') do set gpu_temp3=%%p
for /F %%p in ('"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvidia-smi" --id^=4 --query-gpu^=temperature.gpu --format^=csv^,noheader^,nounits') do set gpu_temp4=%%p
for /F %%p in ('"C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\nvidia-smi" --id^=5 --query-gpu^=temperature.gpu --format^=csv^,noheader^,nounits') do set gpu_temp5=%%p
set /a total=%gpu_temp0%+%gpu_temp1%+%gpu_temp2%+%gpu_temp3%+%gpu_temp4%+%gpu_temp5%
set /a gpu_tempaverage=%total%/6

if %gpu_tempaverage% GTR 70 (
   TASKKILL /IM cwigm.exe
)

Damnnn! Thanks broski. I'll try it out!

Guys i need someone to answer me this properly or so. IF i were to make 1 rig with 7x 1080 Ti, i plan to buy Zotac AMP! Extreme, how much PSU Wattage i need? Can i do it with 2x 1000? or 2x 860?

I have 1 rig also with Zotac AMP! Extreme, but 1070. Cards are beasts and on 100% they can pull 250W that's their nominal power (although on 100% they never drain more then 150-160W when they do zcash and similiar algos, at least from what i remember). My 7x Zotac 1070 rig draws around 1100 W from the wall (i have watt meter) and they are on 2x Corsair AX860i, so around 1700 W overal. Here i have even 600 wats more then i need. System is super stable and works like a charm. On eth i get 31-32MHS, on signatum around 31 and on Zcash i get 420-430 sols per card.

I run 1 Rig with 7gtx 1070 - 4x Zotac AMP! Extreme, 2x Msi Gaming x and 1x Msi aero on just 2x Corsair HX750i and also works like a charm, i have like 400 watts extra.

And 1 rig runs on just 1 Seasonic 1000w Supply, 6x gtx 1070, those are mix of weaker cards and stronger. 2x Asus dual oc, 1x Zotac mini, 1 Msi gaming x and 2x Gigabyte Aorus. Also runs perfectly fine with no issues. I have like 300 watt extra.

My zotacs are always from 50-60% Power limit, i dont need higher as they give amazing hashrates on this, and they just start heating more, so it's not worth it.
I guess 1 1080TI on 50-70% power limit shouldnt drain more then 225w per card, that equals 1575 + cpu mobo and such. I would say 2x1000W or 1x1000 + 1x860 should be enough or?

Dunno why you put this huge numbers and use 1200W PSU-s for just 3 or 4 cards.

The AMP Extreme is inadequately cooled according to GamersNexus.

Hmmm that's odd. I have Gtx 1070 AMP! EXtreme, they look the same like 1080Ti and i like how they cool. Cards are not over 47-55 degrees and on 57 - 64% fan. True, 1080 TI will take more power so probably fans need to work faster if they didnt changed cooling system a bit. Hmmm i'll check it out.

Is cooling system on Gaming X 1070 and 1080Ti the same? If so then Zotac should be better, as my Zotac 1070 cools better then 1070 Gaming x

All my am extreme cool really well. Not sure why it reported as not.

With my tropical climate, i am running at 100% it still at below 65 degree and pulling around 300W each card

He told GPU is ok cooled but VRAM and FET (transistors) are not so well cooled, actualy FET is worse cooled, like 90 degrees

0.9.9 release please Smiley Stability, easy to use is ok but everybody first always see on mhs and $ Smiley

What to use in bat file to test latest version ccminer on your pool?

when CWIgm-0.9.9 is ready to be beta tested ...

depending on your machines - but if its a single system with its own worker on the pool - then -c <coin> --lodiff ...

otherwise - if it is a few machines on the one worker - leave the --lodiff parameter off ...

other settings to use are -i <intensity> depending on what card you use and many others ...

read through the readme.txt that comes with your welcome pack and download ... it explained the parameters you can use for the cards and systems you have ...

#crysx

Crysx, i asked several times. Is there an option to turn off miner when certain temperature is met, for safety? If my rig temperatures jump for more then 15-20% then ussual something is wrong, and throttling has no use kinda. It will either work on lower temp or not work at all, no need to throttle GPU-s on which cooling started to be a problem. It's not a solution.

If you dont have it, why and it would be amazing to have it. Or do you know some other way how to turn off miner if i reach certain temperature.

there is no way to just turn off a card when something goes wrong ...

not even in the 5year old mature applications ( ccminer and sgminer ) that i know of ...

though that would be a great addition - but the 'why' part of your question is VERY difficult to answer ... the simple and short answer is - because its VERY difficult ...

Allow me to attempt explaining it: A program is a collection of one or more "threads" that you can think of as semi-independent little programs sharing memory. Most often, one is assigned per GPU you have, to handle giving that specific GPU work, and getting results from it. When you ask a GPU to do something - you are actually "calling" (or running code from, and waiting for it to tell you it finished and what went down) code from the driver. Keeping it simple - AMD develops the driver, which is buried deep in the OS and controls the hardware for you - so you can say "Run this shit and tell me what nonces are good" without having to care too much about the details. If a GPU has hung... it has hung inside the code that is deep in the shit that the miner dev usually doesn't even think about - let alone control. That thread is now "stuck", and will remain so until the entire program terminates. You may notice how when a GPU goes "DEAD" in SGMiner, the others continue to mine... this is why.

So, everything continues despite that thread's fucked status until somebody or something tells the whole miner program to quit... and therefore, all its threads must quit... oh shit. The OS can't actually terminate it properly - it's stuck in low-level code that happens to often be a core, low-level part of the OS itself... in short - we be fucked. Hard reboot to bring the GPU back up, in short.

Read my upper post. I asked the simplest solution. I dont need to shut down GPU-s. I just need to close the miner application.

IF temp on GPU 0 or 1 or 2 or whatever = 70 degrees - Close CWIgm.exe

Smiley ...

there ARE such scripts you can write to loop CWIgm into a reset ...

BUT - what you are asking is all part of the GPU MONITORING ... which is why such a details explanation for such a 'simple' question ...

you need to understand that an application needs to KNOW a gpu is dead or over heated BEFORE any actions can be taken ... which is the explanations you have above ..

so the answer is simple ( and mentioned earlier also ) - no there is no way of CWIgm or AND mining application to close when an event like that occurs BECAUSE it needs to KNOW that a gpu has overheated or died ... there maybe a command to put into a script that is ANY gpu reaches a certain temperature then shut down the miner - but that brings us back to the same issue with monitoring ... im sure windows has some utilities of tools that can help there - but we know of none that would monitor temps AND shut an application down in such events ...

without sounding offensive here - but anything missed there? ... as im sort of confused as to why you would think this question is actually simple ...

#crysx

Cant application work with temperature values it shows on the screen, like it shows fan %, core clock and such? It needs to take those values from somewhere first and store them in a variable before puting them on screen. And if it reads temp is above 75 or 80 it calls command to close the whole app.

If i am dumb or bother you just say haha. Also dont want to waste ur time. It's just curiosity now as i used to programm on my college and have some okish background. The whole reason why i thought it's simple is coz application allready works with temperatures in some way. I would say it takes that data from somewhere, store then in some string variable, or maybe integer or whatever if it's not stored as character and then put them on the screen.

AND ANYWAY! I like your miner very much. I like it clean and simple as it is. Very nice UI. Also pool is rly cool. Have a lot of details and works well. Keep it up!

Or do you know some other way how to turn off miner if i reach certain temperature.

there is no way to just turn off a card when something goes wrong ...

not even in the 5year old mature applications ( ccminer and sgminer ) that i know of ...

though that would be a great addition - but the 'why' part of your question is VERY difficult to answer ... the simple and short answer is - because its VERY difficult ...

the coding of such an implementation to just switch off one gpu is a very complex addition that even we are not looking at until CWIgm is a more mature platform ... this is why nvidia-smi was built by nvidia themselves ... it has MANY more functions to control the gpu - but i doubt it has an sensory option to switch off ONE gpu when it seems to die or reach a certain temperature target ... if nvidia themselves havent coded that into their own design - what makes you think we can do it easily? ...

tho this feature would be great to have - it is not slated to be integrated ... we WILL let you know if there is such an addition IF there is a way of doing promptly ... especially if our liaison / communication with nvidia is such that it is a feature they will produce ... would be a great tool to have - you are right ...

for the time being - we wont commit to it ...

i think really the only way to alert you of anything that might be wrong - is the miner alert on the pool ... if the miner locks or cuts out - the pool sends and alert ...

thats the best we can do for now Smiley ...

I am not asking to turn OFF GPU, i ask to CLOSE MINER APP xD I ask such a simple question or add a simple suggestion and after 10 times noone still understand what i try to say. I am asking, coz i realised by now that here is no such option, at least in miner that if miner reads temperature on some GPU that is Above one that we set, it just closes the miner app and rig stops mining, not to shut down GPU...

Can i make some .bat file that can read NVIDIA-smi sensors and if they are above certain temp, it sends command to close the "CWIgm" miner application?

I try to explain again:

OK miner is working, all is mining well. temperatures are around 55degrees with fans on Auto (fan curve). Then all of a sudden room starts getting quite hot coz my cooling system glitches and something goes wrong. All temperatures start rising, they are close to 85 degrees and fans are 100%, this is not healthy enviroment for GPU-s, gpus start throttling to lower the temps, mining experience is horrible.

SO to prevent all unecessary throttling and struggling in hot enviroment my Miner APP will just close and all GPU-s will start cooling down, as they are no longer "Hashing" if i had command to turn off the APP on let's say 70 degrees. If my regular avg temps are around 55 i would put 70 as a safety number. Now my miner closes. I get notification my worker is IDLE, i go back home and see, damn my Cooling isnt working! I fix it up and start mining again. IF same shit happens, this situation repeats. I dont need GPU throttle mining.

listen, we all understand what your asking but its not something that any miner will do at the moment. Im sure it can be programed to shut down at a certain temp but it seems your the only person ive seen on any thread, in any forum having this issue. If it was a major problem with lots of miners then it would be considered a priority software add, but at this point its probably not, nor may it ever be. Since we do understand and know the miners cannot do what you want, we have been trying to offer you other solutions to your issues. Its pretty simple.

you could always try to find third party software that will shut down the GPUs or your miner if it reaches a certain temp.

like you could install this program https://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/ which will shut down your computer if the GPU temp reaches a certain level. You could probably write a batch file and have it auto execute when the computer restarts making your miner restart once the computer is back up after turning off. Its a workaround for what your asking but may work for you.

Run a batch file at boot in Windows 8 and 10 users
Create a shortcut to the batch file.
Once the shortcut has been created, right-click the file and select Cut.
Press the Start button and type Run and press enter.
In the Run window, type shell:startup to open the Startup folder.
Once the Startup folder has been opened, click the Home tab at the top of the folder and select Paste to paste the shortcut into the folder.

That is the answer i was asking the whole time, but noone could understand what i asked. I had to write and rephrase it 10 times. Yes i noticed miner doesnt have that option. I will see if there is any solution with .bat file or with tech-gpu and make it work. From what you say it could work that way.

I got answers but they were all the same and not answering my question. I said i dont need to throttle my GPU or turn it off, but Application itself.

Turning off my rig can also be a good solution as i need to get home anyways to fix my cooling, so if my CWIgm.exe is off or RIG, it doesnt matter. I will turn on rigs manualy when i get there.

Thanks for the answer.

And i am sorry if i was anoying but it was rly a simple question/suggestion but noone understood what i asked lol Cheesy

Cheers and best regards!

It's super low profit i think with GPU-s. 590MH/s generates around 1.3 vegas per day. I think monthly profit is around 390$, compared to other coins which are around 1300-1500$

NVIDIA GTX1070 8GB gives 26.65 Mh/s Hashrate.
I have just tried and it works. if you have any quations, feel free to ask.

CCminer original link: https://github.com/palginpav/ccminer/releases/download/1.1.1/palginmod_1.1_x86.zip

Command Example:
Code:

You can create .bat file or you can download example bat file from my web site.
Edit "Start - VGS.bat" file with a text editor.
Code:
ccminer.exe -a quark -o stratum+tcp://gcpool.eu:3352 -u igotek.cube -p x --cpu-priority=5 -i 24
Change "igotek.cube" with your PoolUsername.worker
Save the file.
Double click the "Start - VGS.bat" file.
All done.

Thanks a lot. This is exactly what i was also looking for.

How that translate to profit? I'll try search in meanwhile, unless you are around and can easly answer. Cheers!

Guys i am very interested in this coin, but can anyone give me some directions how to start with it? I dont have any coins to swap, i'll go directly to las vegas coins

How do i Mine it? Can i use GPU-s? And which pool do you recommend? Please!

I used Baikal Miners.

Here is the pool: http://gcpool.eu/p3352/public/index.php?page=dashboard
Here is the exchange: https://www.coinexchange.io/market/VGS/BTC

You can mine or you can buy.

I dont have Asic-s. Is mining with GPU-s worth it? And what program you use to mine? Can it be done with CCminer?

Sorry if i bother you
