Yes. This is the third thread I've seen in the past week Smiley

So............... Has anyone actually tried mayonnaise long-term?
She didn't like it.
I see what you did there Wink

You may have a bad copy on your flash drive.  I'd say, rewrite it :/

For sale I have

SOLD: 5850 - Reference
Ran at 825Mhz 1.00V for 2 months stable.  Temps settled at 60C with 35% Fan
- Shipped - Payment confirmed

5850 - Sapphire cooler
Ran at 825Mhz 1.00V for 2 months stable.  Temps settled at 68C with 50% Fan

6870 - Sapphire cooler
Never used to mine.  It was my gaming card before I got the 7970.

5970 - Reference (Powercolor branded)
Ran at 775Mhz @ 1.02v with 38% fan @ 66/68C  Vrm temps were getting high, so I applied new paste and thermal pads.  I must've used the wrong size pads.  More pads are on the way.  Gpu temps were awesome though!

I have a sempron 145 unlocked to dual core.
I have a Msi 870 G46 mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130591
and 1gb of shitty ram

I had 3 cards/4 GPU's on this mobo and it worked flawlessley.

Also I have a 750W TX corsair PSU, but I like to have an extra lying around for my gaming pc, so offer high and I may let it go Tongue

Close youtube!

Right click on any flash player -> settings -> uncheck enable hardware acceleration.

Just for shits and giggles, make sure your mobo has usb boot listed as the first thing to look for in the bios.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [5 BTC Bounty] Tutorial for getting my first BAMT rig working on: May 30, 2012, 04:01:44 PM
I gave up.

Back to windows for now.....too much trouble trying to learn a new system and get 7970's running.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Put the 7970's in a windows box and 5xxx/6xxx onto the linux box.

try switching fn and windows key in the bios.  in not, you can re-map keys using software.  eg make "e" "fn"

sharpkeys.codeplex.com

also, go into device management (devmgmt.msc) and tell us what wifi card you have.  Usually each card has general drivers which will work for any computer with that card and OS.

On the Taskbar right click on the battery icon and then click adjust screen brightness.  If it's not there, unplug the power supply and it will show up.

Did a Google news search for "Radeon 7990" limiting results published in the last 24 hours.

This came up: (Appears to be legit? - multiple search results have this)

http://www.pc-max.de/news/grafikkarten/zeigt-powercolor-ein-erstes-bild-der-radeon-hd-7990

It's a 7970 X2 by powercolor's standards.

This isn't the 7990 released by AMD yet, however it most likely beats anyway.

Similar to the 6870 x2 by powercolor.  Their own PCB's - But they have loads of problems.
233  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Question & Help: (7970, win7 32bit, GUIminer) GPU is running almost 50% of GPU2 on: May 25, 2012, 03:10:26 PM
Please try to install MSI Afterburner or GPU-Z and monitor your clock frequency. It's possible that one GPU is running at a lower clock frequency.

12.3 worked as in now they are both giving around 550 each, which is around stock.

Now I am using CGminer and it doesn't seem to implement my gpu changes like lowering the memory clock, lowering the voltage or changing the core clock.  I have 12.3 install and no afterburner.  What would cause this?   Do I need to modify the config file instead of doing through the command line?

Thanks much,
Dal

7970 and cgminer don't mix well.  Use Afterburner to change memory and voltages.  When in cgminer, voltage is always stuck; however, it is not really that value.  Use GPU-z or afterburner to see the actual voltage.  Memory likes to "stick" in afterburner, so I set memory in afterburner, then set it to the same in cgminer.

Also:  Close youtube.  Turn off hardware acceleration with flash (rightclick on a youtube video -> settings -> uncheck enable hardware acceleration)  Hardware acceleration sticks the card in 2D mode with 500mhz clock.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 7970 undervolting on: May 25, 2012, 12:34:22 AM

my .2 bitcents...  stop trying to put gpus into warp drive...

also, the topic is undervolting..  at stock volts and 1100 clock my rigs(5x7970) pulls 1440 watts at the wall.  at 930/300/.937 it pulls 835 watts...  huge difference

huge difference for an extra 750Mhash :p

so you going to pay 600 watts for 750 mhash?   do you have free electric?

lets put this into perspective:

600 watts is ~ 47.50 $  at .11 p/kwh
750M at current diff is   $66.16 per month

so to make all that extra heat, you pay 20 bucks a month!  you loose money to over clock that much

You didn't see my sarcasm there :p

237  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Overclocking NVidia GTX 560 Ti on: May 24, 2012, 11:14:20 AM
My parents are perfectly aware of the mining. They are aware of the power consumption. I even asked them, they said they were fine with it.

BTW I am going to get the 5970, stop mining BTC on the 560 Ti, make the 560 Ti used for gaming or something.

Sorry I opened this can of worms...

Don't be sorry, now you know Tongue
238  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Overclocking NVidia GTX 560 Ti on: May 23, 2012, 05:12:34 PM
That is irrelevant.

Your friend takes you to a bar.  You offer to buy him a drink (using the computer).  You do.  The rest of the night, he sneaks behind your back and orders 5 more drinks on your tab (running a gpu farm).  He walks away drunk (bitcoins) while you are forced to pay (electricity)
239  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: if you're into watercooled 7970s... on: May 23, 2012, 05:07:42 PM
Can I just say thank you for not writing "if your into watercooled 7970's"?

Thank you.

You and I think alike.  I hate when people use wrong grammar.

I and you think alike too. Wink

It's true though.
