I have to agree that I prefer Scrypt for mining also... but the work involved to bring everything back to Scrypt is a little more than I would budget.

Let's see what can be salvaged with the existing blockchain, and go from there.

That is a good question!

Technically, there is no link in the way of source code from Jumbucks to UBQ.  It is that same a replacing it with a new coin.  The new UBQ is a token dependent on Ethereum.  The Dev for Jumbucks has allowed the owners of Jumbuck coins to swap for UBQ tokens.

Could Genstake do the same? yes they could.  But instead of having it's own blockchain, it would mean moving to a token on the Ethereum network.

Not sure that is what is in the roadmap for G3N.

I am not a fan of Pump n Dumps, and I really hope this was not a plan by someone to target Bata for a PnD as this project has merits.

But with Bittrex showing a 24 hr volume of 64+ BTC why are people selling at a loss?

Don't panic and hold your price is what I would be thinking... But I am not expert in manipulating markets.  I am holding bags of worthless coins also.  But every once in a while these coins do show promise and rebound.  Especially when there is actual development happening.  Not just twitter or BCT spam.

I am not going to guess the real market value of Bata, but it was definitely not the sub 1000 sats that it was sitting at only a week ago.  Those that stocked up on Bata for the last 3 months at the low price are going to gain.  And I would guess that those that hang on to the coins that you have now should gain in the future as this coin/project continues to develop.

pc888 has not made this a PnD coin.  If you look at the history of this coin, the theme is not fast profit.  Its about a barter market.  That is the project.

If there is pumping going on, it is outside of the project.  Definitely not something I would want to be a part of.

*** STATUS UPDATE FEB 06, 2017 ***

I will be upgrading the Block Explorer wallet to the latest release (v 0.10.5) in the next couple of days.

The version I was running accepted older wallets that did not have the hard-fork at block 700K (protocol version 70002 & 70005).  However, after the update of the Block Explorer, those older versions will not sync with the blockchain.  Only protocol version 70005 will be recognized.  You will need to update to the latest version.

Your coins will not be lost, the wallet will not keep up to date with the blockchain, no peers found...

That xmine pool is gone.  They did not operate for very long.

The XMINE - MineCoin project was created a year before that pool existed.

My introduction or connection to this coin was when it was a Scrypt based coin, and I mined a lot of it not long after it was launched.  I have been carrying my balance ever since and was hoping to keep it alive.

I have done a little investigation a few months back, and the problem that this coin is suffering from is related to the coin that this project is forked from.  The original coin was also suffering from orphan block issues.  I believe they took steps to remedy the problems.  It is a matter of updating the AMS wallet with the same fixes as the other wallet implemented.  

I haven't looked at this in a while, and have been distracted by other projects.  But this coin is on my hit-list of "Cool Things to Fix in my Spare Time".

If and when we get the blockchain running smooth again, there will always be a need to promoters and networkers to help the coin.  I would be a bonus if those promoting the coin where in the Netherlands.

 

There is definitely a crypto rush or pump going on.  Some coins are making big gains, growing in volume and value over the last week.

I wonder if FLY will get some wind under its wings and rally again?

This is the version 0.8.7.5 that I compiled in Sept 2016 for release, and I have used since that time.  This exe did scan clean on release (I will find the link).

I will compile from source the last release version and see if anything changes.

There is a wallet update based on core 0.10.x in development, not quite ready for release.  I have not had any false positives with core 10 wallets yet.

Newer releases of wallets based on Bitcoin Core no longer contain the coin mining code so this reduces the false positives of antivirus detecting coin miner fingerprints in the scans for viruses and trojans.

I agree.  The question is which exchange?  They either require 1000's of votes or pay BTC to get listed.

This coin does not have many active followers... yet.  The real goal is the project that will use this coin as the currency.  I would rather concentrate on the project, and when it is released, if successful the demand for the project will drive the adoption of XMINE.
