That xmine pool is gone.  They did not operate for very long.

The XMINE - MineCoin project was created a year before that pool existed.

Not too worried about that.

Please try to get listed in an exchange other than yobit. They currently have your wallet in maintenance mode and are known for never updating coins and getting them working again once they go in maintenance.

I agree.  The question is which exchange?  They either require 1000's of votes or pay BTC to get listed.

This coin does not have many active followers... yet.  The real goal is the project that will use this coin as the currency.  I would rather concentrate on the project, and when it is released, if successful the demand for the project will drive the adoption of XMINE.

In theory...

While I partially agree with what you are saying, as someone with 10+ years marketing experience I have to say that it is never too early to start getting interest in your product or project, regardless of what it is. You say that demand for the project will drive the coin, but I say that interest in the coin will be a bigger motivator towards the project.

Keep in mind that if the coin doesn't raise interest and continues the way it's headed that the project will fall flat because people will consider the coin attached to it as a dead coin. This is the most important thing to remember.... the project needs the coin, the coin does not need the project.

Now I know who it hit up for some marketing advise!  Wink Wink Wink

You do bring up some good points.

So far dev has done a pretty decent job supporting this coin. He has fixed problems that stopped the coin dead in its tracks and has listened to advice from others. You can't ask for much more than that from a dev to be honest.

*** STATUS UPDATE FEB 06, 2017 ***

I will be upgrading the Block Explorer wallet to the latest release (v 0.10.5) in the next couple of days.

The version I was running accepted older wallets that did not have the hard-fork at block 700K (protocol version 70002 & 70005).  However, after the update of the Block Explorer, those older versions will not sync with the blockchain.  Only protocol version 70005 will be recognized.  You will need to update to the latest version.

Your coins will not be lost, the wallet will not keep up to date with the blockchain, no peers found...

We passed block 720 000 and the PoW rewards are now reduced to 10 XMINE per block.

This was a successful hard-fork. Phew!

Please confirm you are running the latest version of Minecoin 0.10.5

Older wallets are ignored due to hard fork at block 720 000.

Yes, it works well. I'm running this version and there is no issue until now. I will mine some coins with my miners and I expect the price will be higher than before.

As for the price, I would imagine we need to wait for Bitcoin price to settle down to a more stable state before we see more value pouring into altcoins like XMINE.  The trend at the moment seems to be to cash in on the Bitcoin rally.  Once that is stable, we will see the return of investments into developing coins.

Yobit once again has the wallet in maintenance mode. Anyone can request a fix from them by filling out the form at:

https://yobit.net/en/maintenance_request/

Just make sure you fill in all the requested information, all of which can be found quite easily by anyone. I already sent a request to have the wallet updated but it can't hurt if more people send one, and may get the wallet back up and working faster.
