221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 14, 2013, 06:53:02 AM
I don't know...it seems that many are fairly set on trying to keep the price high by holding out. I wonder how long that will hold out for...

People are not set on keeping the price artificially low by dumping any more.

Anyway weekends are often low volume.... Real movements on volume likely wont happen until next week.
222  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am fucking panicking on: July 12, 2013, 10:37:55 AM

Potential... that was my point -- that in a discussion about the present-day utility of bitcoin, unrealized potential does not apply.

Isn't that just about the entire point of speculating in something? You hope that the future value will be higher. If the potential was fully realised now, that would not happen.

That's when it's time to sell.

Any discussion about speculating in price movements has everything to do with unrealised potential as compared to present day utility.

So you admit that BTC has unrealised potential then?

Ding ding ding... time to buy.
223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 12, 2013, 10:21:20 AM
Is it really a crash if it is driven by a few big players dumping?

Anyway, the market is always the same -- in both directions --  the whales set the pace, and the fish try to profit.

Making a long story short, the potential is all there but the current infrastructure its not good enough to realize that potential.

[high potential] + [infrastructure gaps] = [huge opportunity]
226  Economy / Speculation / Re: The mother of all traps? on: July 12, 2013, 09:19:57 AM
First 10 votes, and 90% say its a trap.

Too few votes to say, but if that incredible 90% figure is confirmed that would be an indicator that we are completely oversold and we are going up... Especially if we consider that this poll is run in bitcointalk.org, which is a community bullish on BTC by definition.

Interesting.

what meaning it has if one person will decide to dump his fresh 50k bitcoins on the market? And the rest who is buying right now will panic.

They've been trying. The last few days there have been several dumps. It seems the rest of the fish have developed a nice taste for whale dump now.

Don't get shaken down by manufactured "panic".
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 12, 2013, 09:06:48 AM
LOL, watching Bitcoinity is fun.

An orchestrated "panic sell", followed by people blithely and happily continuing to buy at the normal price.

The dumpers tactics don't work any more.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oversold? Nah... It's a dead cat bounce.. on: July 12, 2013, 09:01:14 AM
The line has not been touched yet! I'm not saying it won't, but it hasn't yet
SC > tradingview with point accuracy.

Don't need no point accuracy now... even with an old VGA CRT monitor -- channel is broken.
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gox Will Break $100 again?! on: July 12, 2013, 07:28:58 AM
Patience. There is clearly plenty of buying pressure. The wall only serves to stem it, and as we saw the past few days, anyone dumping now has minimal impact on the market.

The wall serves to effectively ensure that when it is breached, it is breached _hard_.

The longer we wait around here with this status quo, the more impressive it will be.... I look forward to seeing $115 fall.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 12, 2013, 07:26:12 AM
haha why didn't i rebuy at 65.5

Why.

I still havent bought in. QQ

Because a mod and a few other clowns told you we would hit 30 guaranteed?

I think we are all influenced to an extent by what others say. The main influence though, was the charts.
I didn't think the bounce, if I can even call it that now, would be so strong. I'm still above where I sold at
but barely so. And to think I called the last 4 big bounces, though the one at 68 hurts the most.

Now we sit at a very critical level, moreso than 90 and things are looking a bit bullish. We break through
this 100 level and anything is possible (but I'd still say we are in a mid term downtrend.)

Long term bull like most of the guys here. Go BTC (just not yet please)  Wink

The price had crashed significantly (>40%) without any fundamental shift.

THEN the whole forum starts shouting about how we are going lower and "we have not seen capitulation yet".

They even started posting charts of where we "should be", where we "must go", and where they would buy in.

OK, the trend may be your friend.... but really?
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 12, 2013, 07:19:42 AM
No more Bitcoins for sale?! Shocked

Someone bought in few days like what, 50k bitcoins? Their are hanging over us like guillotine. Just put your head here and relax.

Should've bought then
232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oversold? Nah... It's a dead cat bounce.. on: July 12, 2013, 05:28:59 AM
I'll just leave this here.

Quick update on proceedings. When will the trend be broken? The price seems unaffected by what is happening in the world instead just gradually deflates. The profit takers certainly are hard at work and make good use of it.

Any top blue "trendline" just got broken through pretty decisively.

Cogitate on that. Cats have nine lives.

How it did not cross the 100 point and now back to 95.  To cross the trendline it would have needed to hit ~105 per date location.

Because the line is a joke and doesn't go anywhere near $105 if the downtrend was to hold.

Sorry, on pretty much any downtrend channel you can draw, we broke through.

EDIT: You can see I drew the lines to make any downtrend channel as fair as possible.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: July 12, 2013, 05:22:29 AM

I have a very bad feeling about this.

Buying pressure in front of big sell wall.

Looks familiar.

On behalf of bulls, thank you to all the sellers who dump in front of these walls.

235  Economy / Speculation / Re: Simple reason for the price spike... why this weekend's dip will be deep on: July 12, 2013, 02:09:06 AM
The rise is almost a perfect mirror image of the decline.

I hope too many people weren't shaken out.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am fucking panicking on: July 11, 2013, 04:46:01 AM
The world is big and there are many reasons to acquire BTC.

such as?

Furthermore, it isn't necessarily much of a hassle.

Depends on how much time you have on your hands

We have quite a lot of people here who want to buy VPNs/VPSes. Or domain names. That's just for starters.

Buying is easy, takes 10 minutes with AliPay here.
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Thank you to all the Terrified BTC Sellers! on: July 11, 2013, 02:31:40 AM
The difficulty of buying bitcoins is the main obstacle of making them a widespread currency. The average online user isn't going to be bothered with bitcoins when they see how many steps it takes to buy them.

The average online US user?

For example, on btcchina.com it only takes to send money by AliPay or Chinese online banking to a designated address, then after the funds have arrived, make a buy order and then a withdraw order, done. I would not call that “many steps”. The only thing to care about is somewhat long wait to process funding.

^ This. It's not hard to buy bitcoins.
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Posters that you think are lame: Are they bulls or bears? on: July 10, 2013, 04:14:28 PM
And as you can see, most of the dumbass are bullish according to the poll  Roll Eyes

It is exactly this kind of thing that made me vote for why Bears are irritating.

Over-optimism is one thing. Lying and FUD are quite another.

Who was lying? Having an opinion about direction is not FUD or lying

The results of this poll are not open to "opinion on direction". They are simple facts. The results were strongly skewed towards bears when he posted, and they still are.
239  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am fucking panicking on: July 10, 2013, 03:41:10 PM

Black market goods are the ONLY reason why someone would go through the hassle of getting bitcoin beside getting them for speculative/investment purposes.

You can keep saying this.. and you can keep using authoritative capital letters.

But that doesn't make it true.

The world is big and there are many reasons to acquire BTC. Furthermore, it isn't necessarily much of a hassle.
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be ready for the new crash coming... on: July 10, 2013, 03:36:41 PM
Overall, weekly volume is strong -- getting back gradually to pre-crash levels.

And dumps aren't having lasting price impact. That means one thing: Buying pressure is back ;-)
