Hello,

I am looking to buy 2,000 CNC using either BTC or LTC, which ever you prefer. Please PM your offers or post here if you don't mind it being in the open. If you have less than 2,000 for sale, I am willing to buy in smaller chunks from different people.

Thanks.

223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FeatherCoin - New Litecoin based coin on: April 17, 2013, 07:57:55 PM
For some reason I can't the wallet to connect, I tried redownloading it, opening and closing it a few times like was said to do below, still no luck.
I cannot get connections on the Feathercoin client..

Mine did that once I just had to restart the client a couple times.

225  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-e Accounts were hacked. on: April 11, 2013, 02:19:34 PM
This is why I have a 25+ character password and email verification for withdrawals that go to my gmail that has 2-step verification. Call me paranoid, but I think it's appropriate when money is involved.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin time to shine, now that Bitcoin bottomed... on: April 11, 2013, 12:22:45 AM
So if 'litecoin is the future,' what happens if the network hash rate increases such that blocks are solved every, say 30 seconds and due to slow connections, or long distances, nodes start to fall behind? The makes the point of the public block chain useless, does it not? After all, the point of the block chain being public is how the network and all transactions there in remain secure.

And could you explain fairer mining? Because it's GPU and CPU only at this point?

First let me put out there that I don't think litecoin "technically surpasses" bitcoin. It's different, that doesn't make it better. I think the two could exist in a very healthy economy.

Second, that problem can't happen except for a very short time, because litecoin, like pretty much all other cryptos, has difficulty adjustment so that the average time to solve blocks stays the same. So, after ever 2016 blocks, the difficulty adjusts to average out the block time to 2.5 minutes.
227  Economy / Economics / Re: IRS to come after people for selling Bitcoins on: April 10, 2013, 06:22:41 PM
A question if you will. How does it work in the US? One must declare the bitcoins that he holds, or just declare the income when converting them to dollars?

Here in 'merica you would only have to claim your income you made from selling Bitcoins, the Bitcoins you're holding are completely worthless in the eyes of the IRS, they can't tax it. Which is why it is a good thing to pay for things using bitcoins.
228  Economy / Gambling / Re: StealMy.Co.in normal/self-destruct/baller mode on: April 10, 2013, 11:57:36 AM
Yes it is a script you can buy, but like a lot of people have said before, the game is kind of slow paced in that it might only get bought once a day. Some people, like me like these kind of games and the fact that there is a couple more of them means there are more of them to play for people who like them. It might not be the most innovative concept ever, but I don't think it's completely worthless, but to each their own.

I lost 153 LTC on the highroller version back when they were only worth about $0.50. I was like, crap... I just lost $75. Little did I know... little did I know. Hope business is going well for you  Grin
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC Wallet Help on: April 10, 2013, 01:46:27 AM
If I'm understanding what you're trying to do, I would go here: http://liteaddress.org/ and save the page (In chrome, right click and click save as, choose webpage, complete) and then generate a new address and private key. You can then import that private key into the litecoin client using the debug console.

Open the Litecoin client, click on help, click on debug window, click on console and then use these commands:

The commands to import and export keys:

Code:
importprivkey <private key> [account name]

The account name doesn't have to be anything that exists, it will just be the label for that address.

Code:
dumpprivkey <account address>

If you have an encrypted wallet you will need to unlock it first with:

Code:
walletpassphrase <password> <time>

Time is in milliseconds and don't actually put the < or >, those are just there to separate so it's easier to read these instructions.

Also, for cold storage, all you need is your wallet.dat (on Windows, its in the AppData/Roaming/Litecoin directory). Take that file (I would encrypt it first with a really strong password) and put it on a computer that isn't connected to the internet, on a thumb drive, a cd, or any other place not connected to the internet that you won't lose. All you need to spend coins is in that wallet.dat file, everything else can be downloaded again.

Hope this answers your questions.

Makes sense. Thanks guys!
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [SOLVED] ppcoind and dumping/importing private keys on: April 07, 2013, 02:37:06 AM
I'm running the latest version of PPCoin on Windows 8 64bit but can't seem to get ppcoind.exe up and running. I made the ppcoin.conf and added an rpc user and password. I open a command prompt in the daemon directory and then type
Code:
ppcoind
and then it just sits there, I can't type into it. I am doing something wrong?

Also, if I type
Code:
ppcoind help
it just returns
Code:
error: couldn't connect to server

My end goal after getting ppcoind to work is to dump my private key and also import some private keys.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Also, if needed here's my ppcoin.conf: (I removed the rpc password, it's not blank in my file)

Code:
# ppcoin.conf configuration file. Lines beginning with # are comments.

# Network-related settings:

# Run on the test network instead of the production ppcoin network.
#testnet=0

# Connect via a socks4 proxy - default none
#proxy=127.0.0.1:9050
# Accepting incoming connections
listen=1
# Enable UPnP negotiation with router/firewall to accept incoming connections
upnp=1

##            Quick Primer on addnode vs connect            ##
##  Let's say for instance you use addnode=4.2.2.4          ##
##  addnode will connect you to and tell you about the      ##
##    nodes connected to 4.2.2.4.  In addition it will tell ##
##    the other nodes connected to it that you exist so     ##
##    they can connect to you.                              ##
##  connect will not do the above when you 'connect' to it. ##
##    It will *only* connect you to 4.2.2.4 and no one else.##
##                                                          ##
##  So if you're behind a firewall, or have other problems  ##
##  finding nodes, add some using 'addnode'.                ##
##                                                          ##
##  If you want to stay private, use 'connect' to only      ##
##  connect to "trusted" nodes.                             ##
##                                                          ##
##  If you run multiple nodes on a LAN, there's no need for ##
##  all of them to open lots of connections.  Instead       ##
##  'connect' them all to one node that is port forwarded   ##
##  and has lots of connections.                            ##
##       Thanks goes to [Noodle] on Freenode.               ##

Best of luck! I prefer games where you know your odd's, but everyone for them selves Smiley

Thanks!

Thanks!  tutkarz, I'll play with yours if you play with mine.
238  Economy / Gambling / Re: StealMy.Co.in normal/self-destruct mode. on: April 06, 2013, 08:59:52 AM
Actually, believe or not, I was in the middle of changing it when you posted that! I looked around at some of the other ones, and yeah mine was too high, I've lowered it to 1.75%.

My original thinking was that a higher reset would speed the game along by making it reset more often, but I think that would probably just scare people away instead.

Thanks! Also, I really like your site!
239  Economy / Gambling / StealMy.Co.in normal/self-destruct/baller mode on: April 06, 2013, 08:15:11 AM
Hi all.

I have decided to start my own version(s) of the chain game. I know some of you may say, "Oh no, not another one of these!" but as most of you know, these games are slow so the more of them there are, the easier it is for people like me who like these games to play multiple ones at once, instead of waiting on just one site. When I first got into bitcoins, these kind of sites were one of the first things that got me hooked because they offer a pretty safe way to make some nice little profits to the players.

The first and "normal" one of the sites is http://StealMy.Co.in/

Starting Price: .05BTC
Player Payout: 25%
Price Increase: 30%
Reset Odds: 1.75%
Time Limit: 1 Day

The second and "different" one of the sites is http://BOOM.StealMy.Co.in/.

This version of the site has a self-destruct mode. This means that the the reset odd is 0%, meaning there is a 100% chance of making a profit as long as someone steals it before the coin self-destructs in 4 days. I think this one could be fun because it takes the fear of a random reset out and puts it all on hoping someone else will come and steal the coin  Grin

Starting Price: .1BTC
Player Payout: 28%
Price Increase: 33%
Reset Odds: 0%
Time Limit: 4 Day

The third one of my sites is for high-rollers and ballers who like big returns on their investment http://Baller.StealMy.Co.in/.

Again, the reset odd is 0%, meaning there is a 100% chance of making a 50% profit as long as someone steals it before the coin self-destructs in 3 days. This is the version where you can make huge profits if you convince someone to steal after you.

Starting Price: 1BTC
Player Payout: 50%
Price Increase: 55%
Reset Odds: 0%
Time Limit: 3 Day

Come play, if for nothing else for these cheesy gifs I made: Tongue

I think it's funny you used my screenshot to do this, "meme" of yours. Personally I think TRC doesn't offer much new, but the same could have been said about litecoin and look at what happened to it.
