I think if avatars are to be sold, they should just be displayed like Marco's avatar, with his actual avatar on one side and the BIT-X logo/name on the other.
That way, avatars can still be unique, and people can earn bitcoin without the forum getting spammed with the same avatar.

Can I ask again if it is possible to upload a gif avatar? I have seen a few users have one  . I don't think that's possible. Are you sure you've seen gif avatars? I haven't spotted one myself. I tend to find them pretty hard to take if there's a page full of them flashing away at you. Theymos has said that he will not allow gifs, (for now) but will keep them for old members who have uploaded a gif in the past. (Before the forum was hacked.) it would be nice if you would allow newbies to have smaller avatars, a little 2x2 photo would be nice. would look great. but also i understand that its a way to define longer members than newer ones..

No, you should be active here in the forum only for 120 days, it is not a lot of time  . 4 months to go then LOL.. the activity thing is complicated, i got it but still complicated Don't worry, the new forum should have avatars for everyone. I think the reason why theymos disabled avatars for members and lower is that SMF is still SMF, and no matter how hard you try to fix it, there probably still is a vulnerability. Members who have been here for a long time probably have no interest in hacking the forum. It's so colorful now, with different avatars for everybody. It's great! Thanks theymos! |

 incredibly is not an April's Fool  thank you It was an April's Fool. Try logging out of your account and you'll see that your avatar has changed. I've logged out of my account and my avatar hasn't changed. Theymos has said that this will be a permanent implementation after April Fools's, so maybe it is after April Fools's day in theymos' timezone? Thanks theymos for re-enabling avatars! Sorry if this has been asked before, (I don't want to read through all 16 pages) but why has this been re-implemented so suddenly? (I'm not complaining.) |
