plus one delta will power two 10 card 1070 rigs easy

well i don't do risers. I am riser free at this moment. on about 50 nvidia cards

and what holds me back is  the generic colorful that i run  with the delta is just that generic a knock off  I don't trust the seller.

The onda seller has been around 12 years and has been 21 of 21 with boards  all clearly marked onda.

Once buysolar and I get the second solar array going  we will not worry about a loaded loud  delta  running two boards.

For now we are running the gpus in our homes as space heaters  so quiet matters.

the asics are in his converted barn  we do not have room for gpus there.

to me if you are doing a rig on the onda  and use 7 slots with the 1000 watt corsair it is a good setup.  riser free up to 115 or 120 watts a card  it runs

So why solo? 7mh would take 2 year to hit a block?

Simple  that is a smaller pc   with an old windows 7 pro and an old cpu  with a small  gpu. It was not used for mining until this year.
So I consider it to be 0 cost item.

But the gpu  earns  75 cents a day,  The solo mining  cost well under that.

So I run the pc making 60 cents a day with a shot at a solo block  works for me.

Also  I am feeling lucky.  I may add more sticks as time goes on.

I got one from asic puppy =  crazy guy

I had one donated (thank you)

I want to show  viable reason  to have these sticks.
I also had the usb hubs from eye boot from sidehack's sticks

the silver one on the left  is the older usb2 model
the black one is the newer usb3 model
I also have the large 49 port model

as the winter sets in  I will  expand this just a bit  and run a few sticks on each usb hub

I have a board works  8 slots  server a delta.
Got it at alibaba.
I felt seller was sleazy
and the board that came was a little different then to board that was pictured.

This made me not  want to order 10 more.

I also cost  30 more then the  Onda.

I have been able to run the onda with

set 1070's at 110 watts and use some 1989 tis at 200 watts
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/ax1200i-digital-atx-power-supply-1200-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-modular-psu-na-refurbished

set 1070's at 105 watts on smos linux
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/rmi-series-rm1000i-1000-watt-80-plus-gold-certified-fully-modular-psu-na-refurbished

I also found the onda is good with 7 cards  rather then 8

that allows me  to use the rm1000i    psu at   under 800 watts

so the psu is  149 which is now cheaper then the delta by 40
the board is 30 cheaper

so I save 70  with the onda and 7 cards

if you had 56 cards

generic  from sleazy guy    7 boards of 8 cards    so 7 x 70 =  490  more

onda   you need 8 boards  so

ram     40
cpu    100
board 170

total   310

so the onda  is cheaper  running 7 cards with the corasir

and the generic  cost more running 8 cards with the server

if you could get the deltas for 165  and not 190  the generic would cost the same
but I would still worry about the seller

My paypal  credit is 6 months interest free.

I got it up to 9100 of 9500 but that was a few year ago.

To further expand on the coin price comments by Phil and others... yeah, I thought for sure that when the dip started 3 days ago we were headed for a pretty big correction. Most coins were down 10-15% and that even held into the next day. But then yesterday, essentially overnight for those in the US, almost all of those losses were erased and and now most coins are either back where they were 4 days ago or even higher.  i'm not saying there won't be another correction but the market has shown much more resiliency most of this year, meaning pretty much every dip, even the big ones, were immediately followed by a growth period where BTC and many alts hit all times highs.  but most of those prior dips lasted much longer than this recent one and took much longer to recoup losses than 2 days. To me, this likely means there is more stability in the market now, and I wouldn't be shocked to see many coins gain another 25-40% before another correction hits.

Granted, despite this optimism, I am still looking to liquidate at least a bit of my portfolio in the coming weeks.  To that end, I would like to ask what method most people like to use (aside from the obvious Coinbase) here to convert BTC to fiat (in my case, USD). I took a look at LocalBitcoins.com and there are many buyers there offering at or even above current market prices.  Has anyone used this? Is it legit?  What about the paypal option?  anything to look out for when using that?  Aside from that, any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Never never never never sell btc  for paypal.

The buyer has  6 months to scam you  no matter what you do.

I don't know why  you won't use coinbase  but if you have never used coinbase and don't have an account setup  thats a reason.

With coinbase sells  sell  under 1000 usd two or three days in a row.  You will be fine.

Never do a big  coinbase sale send receive or pruchase.  The ruling handed down  this month for IRS access to coinbase is simple:

any 20000 dollar move of any kind

a sale for fiat
a purchase for fiat
a send
a receive and Coinbase has to send all your records  to the IRS  from 2013 to 2015  not sure about  2016 or 2017.

So to be safe  do under 0.75 coins  in a move  and don't do    3 moves of 0.75  close to each other.

sales of 1000 usd  are not close to the ruling.

Coinbase Obtains Partial Victory Over IRS
Coinbase appeared in federal court this month in the continued fight with the IRS over our customers’ privacy. You can read more in this blog.
We are pleased to say Coinbase won a partial victory in court today. Although the Court did not completely quash the government summons compelling disclosure of certain customers’ records from the period 2013–2015 as we requested, we were proud to accomplish two important victories for our customers.
First, the government vastly narrowed the scope of its summons. The government’s own lawyers noted at the hearing that the IRS is not accustomed to having to fight for records in this context, and most companies just turn records over without going to court. Thanks to Coinbase’s efforts, more than 480,000 customers’ records were preserved from disclosure. This is a 97% reduction in the number of customers impacted by this summons.
Second, the quantity of data we must produce for the approximately 14,000 customers who remain in scope has been significantly reduced. In narrowing the scope of the summons, we are pleased that the Court acknowledged the privacy rights at stake in this matter.
Coinbase started this process more than 12 months ago, and while today’s result is not the complete victory we hoped for, it does represent a substantial and unprecedented victory for the industry and the hundreds of thousands of customers that would have been unfairly targeted if it weren’t for our action. Although we are disappointed not to be able to entirely defeat the summons, we are proud to fight for our customers and in the result we were able to achieve as a small company against a large government agency.
Coinbase is in the process of reviewing the order. As we proceed, we will continue to keep our customers updated. Coinbase has millions of customers and the narrowed summons affects approximately 14,000 of the highest-transacting customers from 2 to 4 years ago. This represents less than 1% of our customer base. In the event that we ultimately produce the documents under this Court order, we intend to notify impacted users in advance of any disclosure.

You are all INSIGNIFICANT to Halong Mining, and every other ASIC manufacturer with your 1 miner order and shoe-string budget!

Did Elon Musk send you a Semi-truck to test too?

No! a BUSINESS entity needs to recoup R&D costs ASAP and it sure ain't coming from shipiing 1 miner at a time from Shenjing!

I have ordered over 300,000 in gear from various mining companies since 2012.

I have started more then 500 people in mining and taught them how not to get fucked  in the ass hard with no lube by a seller like this company.

No one in there right mind should preorder for march 31 shipping on gear that is not proven  yet this company has received millions in orders.

I personally would welcome a tester from them. I would run it and show it.  But here is my attitude.

I have avalons mining as I type.
I have s-9s mining as I type
I have s-9s coming sometime next week.

I have nvidia 1070's mining as I type
I have nvidia 1970 ti's mining as I type.
I have nvidia 1080 ti's mining as I type.
I have nvidia 1080 ti's coming next week.

Anyone  that mines should have some of the above before they buy from a complete unknown.

and here is why:

All the stuff above certainly makes good money

if the new gear is real  big if

if it comes on  time  march 31 ship april 5 delivery.

if it works and does not break

if it will do 16th at 1200 watts

bitmain can simply drop the price on the s-9  to 800 usd  and that is a better deal.

and trust me 800 usd still makes bitmain money.

To make things worse  this company has gone the worst route possible

Dec
Jan
Feb
Mar

about a 120 day presale

That is   Stupid unless one of four things
1) they figure a big crash in January
2) they are fully fake
3) they fear bitmain will make an s-11 in feb and it will kill this gear say 20th and 1200 watts for 1400
4) something I don't know that they do know

If they  want me I am here.
if they want Dabs  he is here.
if they want Haggs  here is here.

Lets see Syan they played around no gear nothing.
WhatsMiner M3 from pangolin reseller .  He sent me a demo unit.  I rated it ran it for 2 weeks and sold it at a small markup.  I paid 1200 usd and netted 1450 usd.
Panda miner first model Sent me a demo unit I rated it ran it for 2 months sold it at a small markup. netted around 200 profit.
S-5 demo from bitmain
avalon 4.1 demo from canaan.

at this point the creator of bitcoin (whomever he really is)  could tell me this gear is real  I would not preorder it and wait until april to get it.

the preorder is far too long.   Remember the d3's  long preorder dead coin.

bitmain can flood the market with cheap s-9s to kill value of this gear that is my single biggest complaint about a 120 day wait of the gear.
22089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 02, 2017, 10:03:58 PM

My generic 8 slot was doing 7 Evga 1070ti hybrid. At 495 sols and a 1080 ti hybrid doing720 sols.

So I pulled the 1080 ti moved it put in the 8 th 1070 ti. And now no clocks work so I get only 420 sols.

Every card is saying vga driver not 1070 ti

I think smos need to update driver for the 1070 ti

If I swap the 180 ti back in I can clock all eight cards.

One says 1080 ti the other 7  read vga nivida. But I can do the clocks that give me 498 sols

Driver update for smos is needed

You should be able to update the drivers yourself - though I don't think there is an "apt" package for the 384.98 "supports 1070 ti" version yet, there is the "download it from NVidia and manually install it" option.

40mm M.2 drives seem to be going the way of the dodo - do the Onda and Colorfull boards have screw holes for 80mm?

in smos   i have no idea how to load a driver

windows is not an issue I can load proper drivers.

Simple mining smos is the issue
my workaround is 1 1070 hybrid with 7   1070ti hybrids

the smos  then allows me clocking

Nah. I only need it for one miner. Can i do it with different sound insulation or styrofoam?

yes get the smaller size

https://www.homedepot.com/p/UltraTouch-48-in-x-6-ft-Radiant-Barrier-30000-11406/100656748

and this fire blanket

https://www.amazon.com/Emergency-survival-Fiberglass-Blanket-fireplace/dp/B071744PRN/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?

use a piece of plywood

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Underlayment-Common-7-32-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-196-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-431178/203183010

make it  1 ft by 6 ft     four pieces

you have a left over  piece 2 ft by 4 foot.

the 4 long pieces make a U shape  line with the liner  you will have a left over piece of liner  use that for the top board.

the box will be 1 ft by 1 ft by 6 foot  the inside will be  11 inches by 11 inches it will fit the miner and the psu.

So you only left the sides open? And you used insulation foam right?

six sided rectangle  with 2 ends open

the main sound deadner is this

below for short proofing and fire resistant

if you build six feet long and 30 inches wide 1 foot tall  you can do 3 s-9's or 3 whatsminer m3's
22094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 3 Cards burned after 14hrs? on: December 02, 2017, 04:08:01 PM
1070 ti pulling 480 sol/s isn't pushing hard at all.

70C though is high on temp for 115 watts, especially with 80% fan - SOMETHING is blocking airflow to the cards or the room is VERY VERY hot.
Those Aero blower cards shouldn't have THAT bad of cooling, though they would tend to run a LITTLE warmer than good fan-cooled cards unless they're in a case.

My EVGA and Zotac 1070 ti cards in my "new shelf/rack" first rig only run 62-63C at 50% fan in a room that is 86 F measured right above the "room fan" that blows air into that rig.

It's POSSIBLE that you got a batch of flaky cards - but if they're working for video playing it sounds more like you're pushing them too hard, probably on the memory clock.

What are your settings if you don't mind asking? I think the main problem is on the USB stick, and it was the reason that system crashed and not the OC speeds. Even if for sure i was pushing the MC way over what needed.

Do you recommend anything to remote monitor the rig using nvOC? I think i will end up using teamviwer but was looking for other alternatives

simplemining  is 2 usd a rig a month  uses linux  allows clocking and monitoring.  If you have bigger rigs 2 usd a month is cheap enough.

I like nvoc   but it is not as good as simplemining   for maintaining multiple rigs in multiple locations.

Still doing some setup work for winter mining.  But I have  3 simple mining accounts  with  13 rigs in all  So I pay 26 usd a month  but the rigs earn 3000 usd a month

so under 1 %  it  is worth it to me.

I will be setting up a 4th location  much larger it is 1 hour and 10 minutes from my house.
Simple mining will earn its keep  as that spot will have a lot of rigs and I do not feel like driving to change shit  more then 1 time a week.

Loud loud loud loud loud.

and hot hot hot.

these need lots of air flow with good air pressure.  do not alter fans.

Your seller was pretty good Phil

1 sample = no issues
10 boards = no issues
10 boards = no issues

21 for 21 is good.

Yes  but  the preorder  is different.
It would be an order of 10 boards  no test sample.
Stuff is selling like mad.
She told me  Dec 10-15.
I do not want to send say 1500 usd via paypal  and get stuck  waiting until  Dec 20 for them to show.
Coins are in a frenzy at the moment. Crash has to come.  If I order  a board in stock  I get it in 3-5 days  I do not want to get stuck  with 10 boards that no one wants.

I am close to capacity in my 3 spots my gear is in.

I now have 10 older boards like the biostar z170  or aorus z270.

I just don't need  to order until they are in stock.  I will check back with my alibaba seller on monday.

coins are once again over 11,000  I sold some this morning.

I'm struggling to get that Onda D1800 to work. I've plugged in one Vega56 but the board won't post 50% of the time... And when it does it's just not working properly (start button not working, big lag on opening apps etc). No idea what's going on.

I've set everything to UEFI in Bios, plugged the gpu in the first slot and the molex in the first socket.

Chinese crap, this... Sad

Update to latest BIOS?

BIOS defaults and install fresh Windows should work

I am working on a 8 x Vega64 rig now on Win10 with Colorful 8 slot board fully powered with Delta 2400w server power supply... fingers crossed.... will post later when the rig is up.
