22161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Stolen at Gunpoint in New York City Robbery!! on: June 07, 2015, 07:43:32 AM
There's an option at person on person exchange;
Do the exchange at a police station. If the buyer/seller doesn't accept that term then he's probably a robber Smiley
why a police station?! :O
if you tell someone to meet you for trade at a police station he will run off thinking you are going to arrest him. lol

If it has value then some New Yorker is going to figure out how to steal it and sell it at a pawnshop. It's the state pastime like baseball is for the rest of the country. lol

The coindesk article doesn't say which area he was robbed in. ~~
probably in a dark alley :"
but the article mentioned that the robber lured him to a vehicle, and then forced him at gunpoint. maybe the meeting started in a public place and ended up in another place.
22162  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: June 07, 2015, 07:33:44 AM
Why pay money to a porn site if you can watch free? Cool
Any video can be downloaded from the torrent.
a part of it is because of copyright laws. and many people can't or don't want to use pirated stuff.

besides there is always membership fees, that you pay to subscribe to a website. one that comes to mind and is kind of popular is brazzers.
22163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: June 07, 2015, 07:15:28 AM
P2P lending and cloud mining are the first things that come to my mind. Lending can be risky, so you need to be sure of who you're lending to. It's definitely safer than gambling though..

Have you tried btcjam? Or another website? I have long wanted to try P2P Lending. I have been registered there, but never lent someone money.
i have always heard of btcjam and saw the ads but have never tried it.

what is the difference between lending to people there and lending here in this forum at lending section.
what do they provide as a guarantee or collateral?
22164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't we create a new crypto and call it bitcoin? on: June 07, 2015, 07:09:10 AM
~~~100% of bitcoiners/exchanges/miners will agree with,~~~~
there is your answer inside your own question.
you can never make something that everybody agrees with. there will always be some people who disagree with the whole thing or a part of it.
just look at the rest discussions on increasing block size. for example do you want to include bigger sizes in your so called new bitcoin or do you want to continue with the same size, whatever you choose there is going to be some people unhappy with it.
22165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is sex selling bitcoin? on: June 07, 2015, 06:59:36 AM
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnx8fp37M4vlFv3Rk_1sYLw
Has anyone heard of the Bitcoin booty shake girls? If not, check out the link. Apparently some group of people is trying to promote bitcoin with wet t-shirt contests, sexy videos, and other acts of young desire? I'm not surprised it exists. I'm surprised I haven't heard of it yet.
Sex DOES sell...almost anything. I hope it works.
there was a topic a couple of days before about this, i think they are the same people.
unfortunately it is not so popular and seems to me like some random people accepting bitcoin for their videos. i don't think it is going to contribute much to popularity of bitcoin.
and as their post history shows, they posted 29 videos none of them exceeding 5min for less that two months in about 9 months ago and it looks like they gave up on it. nothing impressive if you ask me.
22166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Stolen at Gunpoint in New York City Robbery!! on: June 06, 2015, 02:01:51 PM
apparently a 28 year old man was mugged last month in New York City.
he wanted to sell his bitcoin in person, when the buyer (which he met on Craigslist) turned out to be a robber and took his coins at gunpoint!
story at coindesk:
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-stolen-new-york-gunpoint-robbery/
selling bitcoin in person is not safe anymore, next time we should sell out coins in a public place with witnesses present!
22167  Economy / Gambling / Re: Martingale, A Few Questions on: June 06, 2015, 01:38:51 PM
you have to increase your bet amount on every bet so that if you whin this bet, it would cover all your previous losses to this bet plus win a profit equal to the original stake
it is usually a 2x increase but if you have different odds, you can increase by different factor just to cover the loss plus profit.
but keep in mind that in order to win using martingale strategy you have to have unlimited funds, otherwise you are going to lose are your investment.
22168  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: What is Your Favorite Faucet? on: June 06, 2015, 06:14:48 AM
What faucet sites are your favorites and why?
Some of the best I think of:
moonbitcoin
freebitcoin
bitcoinzebra
Which are your favorites and why?
Stay tuned for the upcoming launch of my faucet: https://LuckyFaucet.com (nothing there, yet). Highest earnings and referral bonuses!
i am not a fan of faucets in general, because the amount you can earn from a faucet on your own (although matches the work you do) is so low that doesn't worth going back for. and if you want to get refferals it requires a lot of work to advertise and get refferals which is a lot of work.
when i started with bitcoin i used many faucets, i only liked the ones that paid more.
the ones that i found interesting are moonbitcoin because it accumulates over time and you can claim whenever you want.
freebitcoin since it always was the highest consistent paying faucet and the multiplier section is a nice feature.
and the alienfaucet groups is a good paying and growing faucet these days.
22169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: So fees may apply to some transaction !! on: June 06, 2015, 06:05:00 AM
The most know that in bitcoin there is no transaction fees but it's a lie  Angry Angry Angry ,right ?
that's what i've find here  Shocked : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees
sorry for my english.
if you are referring to "free transactions", it needs to meet all the three conditions to be considered as high priority and don't need the fee:
1) It is smaller than 1,000 bytes.
2) All outputs are 0.01 BTC or larger.
3) Its priority is large enough (above 57,600,000)
this transaction doesn't need any fee to be included in a block.
on the other hand including fees are optional. but remember that miners might not include transactions with 0 or non standard fees in the block witch will result in your transaction to never be confirmed.
22170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: June 06, 2015, 05:54:13 AM
Either trading (but it's hard to earn without losses there) or affiliate programs and freelancing are IMO the only three ways to really earn. Correct me if I'm wrong... but IMO most other things are either rip-offs or kind of "get $0.00000001 for free clicking ads"
trading bitcoin is something that requires experience and skill though, wouldnt really recommend it to the beginners without a good background in trading already.
Right, but anyway a "total" newbie in everything will never earn something unless he'll learn something. Affiliate programs and other things will requre some skills to succeed as well.. So either you'll earn $0.00001 for hour "for free", either will have to get some skills first - that's my point.
i agree. everybody has to start from somewhere. trading is not easy and learning it is not a walk in the park either. but it is not immpossible to get the hang of it.
it needs some time and work but the the skills necessary for it is achievable over time.
the thing is, the time you spend trading and learning it will make you more money than visiting a faucet can do.
22171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is my wallet going to be compromised ? on: June 06, 2015, 05:49:04 AM
1:) i agree with but i think if he dont know my wallet password he cant do anything , whatever it is i cashed out my all some 1.13 btc`s Tongue
2:) this one is possible.
Windows 7 , Blockchain.info ,
Well if he has infiltrated it he could get your password easily via different methods.
I suggest that you format your system immediately and start fresh.
What do you mean you cashed out, converted to fiat? You could have just moved it to another wallet.  Smiley
cashed out in my bank .
also changing my wallet too ,
thinking to change my pasword ,
somebody help me how to know the private keys of bc.info addys.
if your blockchain.info wallet is compromised or even if you think it was, getting your privatekeys and importing them is not a good idea. since the hacker can have access to them.
but if you want it is under import/export section.
besides if you have 2FA enabled even if the hacker has your wallet identifier and your password, there is no way he can access your wallet without having the 2FA password, or also having access to your phone or Email where you receive your 2FA password.
22172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: if I disconnect my pc will my BTC be safe on: June 06, 2015, 05:43:23 AM
the important thing to remember is to keep the pc that has your wallet on, offline and never connect it to internet.
what i like to do, in order to secure my coins is to create an offline electrum wallet.
here a step by step guide that i bookmarked some time ago:
22173  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do ya'll want in a gambling site? on: June 06, 2015, 04:11:38 AM
there was another topic here that might interest you to take a look at:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1051431.0
but to answer your question.
1. the thing that is most important for me is that i can open the website easily on my phone as easily as i do on my pc. also the betting speed is important for me too.
2. because i mostly do automatic betting, i want a good bot with necessary options that lets me bet the way i want and it acts fast.
3. the last thing is the deposit and withdrawal speed. i want to wait the least amount of time whenever i do any deposits to play or when i withdraw my coins from it.
22174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 06, 2015, 04:04:45 AM
someone should just screen cap the martingale in action with a 1 btc bankroll to see if its worth it.
the problem is, if you start really small - that is starting from 0.00000001 BTC - and start betting, your winnings will not be of any significance.
for example you will win after 5-6 times or even the first time and the amount you win is going to be less than 100 satoshi every time. so the accumulated amount is nothing.
besides you only need 24 loses (if i am not mistaken) to go bankrupt and lose everything. which means you worked so many hours for 100 satoshi wins and lost 1 btc.
22175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Condolences to the bitcoin die hards on: June 06, 2015, 03:32:28 AM
while i agree that there is currently a lot of good opportunities in altcoin market so there is a lot of profit to be made, i don't agree with the whole bitcoin dying or the fact that you should leave it.
altcoins has only one purpose and that is to be pumped and give some people good profit!
22176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is in deep trouble. Litecoin to take its place soon. on: June 06, 2015, 03:29:21 AM
i have seen a lot of other suggestions like this before, all about litecoin is going to go to the moon. but it never revives from its dying course.
sometimes a little pump comes along and lifts the price a tiny bit, but afterwards litecoin collapses back, and continues dying again.
people aren't interested enough in litecoin and it doesn't really offer anything better to attract them either.
besides i think if bitcoin crashes litecoin will crash too.
22177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin really is useful. Just not in the way you think on: June 06, 2015, 03:21:43 AM
i think there aren't many people who are in the first category who think bitcoin must be a scam. maybe at first, when bitcoin was introduced many people thought this way but not nowadays. but many might be think that bitcoin is being used "To Scam" or illegal activities. like terrorist activities or ransom in bitcoin.
the second group which i am a part of who thinks bitcoin is an interesting technological developments, unfortunately consist of an small portion of the bitcoin users.
the rest have little idea what is going on, many use it to buy, gamble,... many just earn it mining, advertising, signature camp. but doesn't care about the technology behind it.
22178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Booty Girls !!! on: June 06, 2015, 03:11:51 AM
i doubt that sex would gain mainstream approval. but it is a good way to increase the popularity of bitcoin.
the whole anonymity of bitcoin transactions is a good way for people to watch porn, and for them to earn some money this way.
22179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Circle Android app has 10,000 to 50,000 downloads. on: June 06, 2015, 03:07:15 AM
wasn't it circle that was giving away $5 worth of bitcoin to everyone to attract user to itself?
if the 10,000 50,000 downloads are related to their promotion it doesn't show anything about the popularity or anything about the service. it shows that so many people got $5
actually many were from the same account, there was a large abusing in that promotion, i would not be surprised if from those 50k only 1000-10k are legit
circle giving away $5 to promote their services is not necessarily a bad thing. they have to attract attention somehow. there were a lot of other services that started this way.
if i am not mistaken, paypal was giving away something like $1 at the beginning of its work, too.
22180  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk effect on Bitcoin ? on: June 06, 2015, 03:00:27 AM
the effect of bitcointalk on bitcoin can not be denied. there are a lot of new people who come here everyday to learn more about bitcoin and get involved.
also there are a lot of businesses running here. different goods and digital goods are being sold here. all the different coins official announcements are here.
but if it goes down for good, it would be a tragedy but it is not the end of the world. all of this would be distributed between other forums until one of them becomes popular.
