2222  Economy / Economics / Re: A bankster in the UK wants to ban big bills on: September 26, 2015, 09:43:06 AM
What war on cash?

First, comparing bills equal to $1000 or $500 is very different from the $100 bill.

Second, if inflation increases we'll only need higher denomination bills.

It all bodes well for bitcoin, which provides the anonymity and ease of cash.

Have a read around.

https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=call+to+ban+cash

There is a growing global effort underway to ban cash, notes and coins.

Banks then have 100% control of your wealth.
Every penny accounted for.
When the bank goes tits up next time you will be footing the bill (laws already in place in many countries!)
The upcoming negative interest rates will force people to spend to preserve buying power rather than be able to stuff the bed mattress with notes.

I really like the look of these, will send you a PM in 5 mins when I've decided what to go for Smiley.

No probs,

Stock is winging its way us as we speak and should be here early part of next week.

They do smell stronger than Yankee candles and last longer.

Apparently Yankee Candles are done in 3 pours and only the top 1/3rd pour contains a lot of scent, when that has burned away the candle does not smell so strong for the remaining 2/3rds.

2226  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Story of Gold on: September 23, 2015, 06:49:12 PM
Fiat has reached it's breaking point. Private Space companies like Planetary Resources will eventually succeed in the coming decades and the increased supply of PM will crash their prices. Crypto is the only game in town on a long enough time frame.

I think you are living in fantasy land.

Why do you think developing mining spacecraft, fueling, launching into space, finding/landing/mining a pm rich asteroid, return to earth and safely land with  tonnes of metal on board will be any cheaper than just mining it directly out of the ground on earth.

The Rosetta mission where a space craft landed on a comet cost 1.4 billion euros and that was a one way trip with no mining operation and return trip bolted on.

If you put the total cost at 3 billion for the bolt on mining equipment and return trip you need to mine 92,914 tonnes of pure gold just to break even at current spot prices.  Bearing in mind the gold will be contained within an ore so the total tonnage to return to earth will be far higher than the 92,914 tonnes.

Maybe in several hundred years but not something I believe I have to worry about in my own or child's life span.

And as for Bitcoin going to the moon, I think the far more likely outcome is that governments will launch their own versions of bitcoin so they can maintain full control and bitcoin will either be made illegal or just fade away and remembered as the first "crypto" experiment.

2227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: User martin0 it deceive!!! on: September 23, 2015, 12:22:04 PM
You should be able to lodge a Paypal dispute on the transaction, and get a chargeback so you get the money back, unless you had sent it as a gift to a friend/family.

Don't mater if is as a gift to a friend/family.

I don't believe you can do a dispute on Paypal if the transaction is sent as a gift, or at least not from what I can see. If the money is coming from a bank account, or card, you can do a chargeback by contacting your bank.

I'm not a stupid fuck like others and I will tell you one secret.
Read the F.A.Q and reply if you underground what I'm trying to say
Also take the script free on Google and test it.

2229  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: September 20, 2015, 08:58:40 AM
For now holding bitcoin quite risky rather than you hold a gold ( gold price always increase year by year )

This year gold price is drop 20% and look not want to move up. I think bitcoin is better because bitcoin price is fluctuating so you take a benefit from this situation

Bitcoin lost 52% over the same time frame.

Gold is also moving up due to strong demand and the FED putting interest rates on hold.

Indian gold season is almost upon us which drives demand even further + talk of negative interest rates could see the price of gold take off.
2230  Economy / Economics / Re: The Real Story of Gold on: September 19, 2015, 08:27:19 PM
deisik

I would be interested to hear your views on platinum, a lovely PM.

Pt is much scarcer than gold, and has a fair amount of industrial use.  Looking at its industrial use, I saw a comment: "Platinum is for optimists."  Pt has almost the amount of shine (almost as reflective) as silver.  Pt does not corrode either, no need to polish it...

Platinum is also "value-dense" (a little goes a long way), but Pt prices have fallen hard lately.  Nor is as liquid as Au and Ag.

Gold is the primary driver of all PMs (more so for silver, less for palladium and platinum). Thus if you are interested in the price of platinum, you should follow the gold lead. And I'm currently bearish on it. Unless the US gov decides on another round of QE, I'm still expecting the price to hit sub-$1,050 level...

Not until then will I look into gold again

More like a case of when and not if.

Now also talk of negative interest rates in the pipeline, if this happens it will drive pm prices hard.
2231  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash will be abolished & negative interest rates via bank accounts enforced on: September 19, 2015, 12:21:13 PM
Why does everyone thinking banning cash = alternative needed such as bitcoin.

Why couldnt they just ban cash as in notes and coins and just keep the digital and we carry on using debit/credit cards to make payments.

!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!

First off. There is already a warning that comes with scams. Second. Don't come at me sideways because you have trust issues. I have a network and a fruitful source. Its users choice. Only way to build reputation is by putting it out there. Once I make a few trades here maybe my credentials will meet your standards.

Could you please explain how the guy selling the bitcoins came to know all about your escrow service as you have never mentioned it in any of your posts here and how he came across you so quick considering your account is only 4 days old.

You are obviously the same person as the guy selling the bitcoin so I am calling you out as a scammer.

I have about .5 for sale. I use my own escrow service through U: Highimrob . I would need $145 for .5

Let me know

looks like he want red Flag

The user "Highimrob" is a 4 day old newbie account with 3 posts all in the gambling section, not exactly what I would look for as an Escrow provider :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=386085

Would not touch this one unless a forum recognised Escrow provider is used :

Hi,

Just wondering if you are offering an Escrow service as claimed here :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1182097.0

Most will view a newbie with 3 posts all in the gambling section offering Escrow services as a scam waiting to happen.

Hello, and yes. This is correct.

2236  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS (10) Bitmain Antminer S4 on: September 15, 2015, 06:59:44 AM
you take escrow?

I would prefer not to, but if it is an absolute deal-breaker I will consider it.  The only real reason I prefer not to is that I've been scammed very bad on eBay and PayPal before, and with an escrow service the same types of scams can occur.

If you buy, I can send you a copy of my drivers license or something like that.  Then, if you have a problem, I will be very easy to track down.

I can assure you that there is not a single problem with me or any of the miners.  I have sold over 1000 items on eBay, and have 100% feedback with over 250 positive reviews (UserID: Hackintoshseller - you can know it's me because I posted the same ad yesterday)

If you use Escrow stick to OgNasty or Tomatocage here and you wont have any issues.
2237  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 13, 2015, 08:38:41 AM
Escrowing your own trade is NOT ESCROW it just becomes a straight 1:1 transaction.
Right. And there is no reason why someone would not trust you to engage in a 1:1 transaction if they would trust you to act as escrow.
Quote
Why cant you grasp that simple concept quickseller, why should someone pay an "Escrow" fee for zero protection and zero impartiality!
A economically rational person would be willing to pay at least an amount more that is equal to the escrow fee in a 1:1 trade because this cost is no longer associated with the trade. Just because neither party trusts eachother sufficiently to send money/goods first does not change the value of which either party is willing to pay for such goods/services.

But there person you traded with did not trust you or wish to trade with you on a 1:1 basis hence their request for the a 3rd party Escrow.

They were trying to implement a safety measure should the trade go wrong so by you faking a 3rd party Escrow you circumvented the buyers wishes.
2238  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Quickseller escrowing for himself on: September 13, 2015, 08:29:57 AM
Escrowing your own trade is NOT ESCROW it just becomes a straight 1:1 transaction.

Why cant you grasp that simple concept quickseller, why should someone pay an "Escrow" fee for zero protection and zero impartiality!

So because I am defending my actions with ethical arguments that neither you nor anyone else is even attempting to counter (they are instead making vague statements about definitions, and saying "escrow"), I should receive negative trust? This is instead of changing my story every post I make about the situation. I hope you realize how backwards this sounds.

Take a step back and have a think, either you are wrong or everyone else in this 30 page thread is wrong.  There are no "ethical" arguments for using a sock puppet account to fake a 3rd party Escrow provider.
2239  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is escrowing for yourself using a secret alt OK? on: September 13, 2015, 07:55:43 AM
WTF?

I'm going to need a PGP-clearsigned YES or NO answer, from Quickseller, to the following question:
Did you, Quickseller, engage in 1 or more trades where any party other than you was led to believe that there were 3 parties with 3 different DNA profiles involved in the trade (1-buyer, 2-seller 3-escrow agent), but in reality there were only 2?

YES or NO?
Did I lead anyone to believe that a trade I was acting as escrow[1] for had 3 distinct DNA profiles[2]? No. Any trade that I acted as a middle man (or as some like to say "escrow"), no explicit, nor implicit statement was made by myself saying that I was not a party to the trade. Any agreement that I had sent out said something along the lines that party (b) should send a certain amount of money to a particular BTC address, once party (s) saw that such an amount was sent to that address they should send a certain amount of money and/or goods and/or services to party (b), and once party (b) is in receipt of the above mentioned currency and/or goods and/or services they should authorize the release of the funds being held to party (s) who would then receive a certain amount of BTC to the address of their choice; and in the event of a dispute I would attempt to mediate such dispute, and if it would not be abundantly clear as to what a fair resolution would be then a scam accusation would be opened to consult the overall community. Nowhere was the words "3rd" (except for potentially the date or similar), or "neutral" were used.

[1]According to the link you provided one definition of "escrow" is:
Quote
[MASS NOUN] The state of being kept in custody or trust until a specified condition has been fulfilled:
Funds were kept in my custody of a specific BTC address until at least when specified conditions were fufilled

[2]I have no idea what the DNA profiles were of any of the people I traded with, nor any of the people that I was acting as a middle man/escrow for. As I never requested, nor received their DNA profiles, and although unlikely, it is possible that a trade I engaged in only involved one DNA profile (I have no reason to believe this to be the case however).

Quickseller you are full of shit and the constant worming around and twisting of words is doing you no favors at all, I think you have lost more respect on the forum by doing this than just holding your hands up and admitting it was an error in judgment as you never intended to scam anyone and just did it to speed things up.

When someone doing a trade with you asked to use escrow were you -

a) Open and honest that you were Escrowing your own trade.

or

b) Deceptive, leading the person to believe that a 3rd party was acting as escrow and charged them extra for the privilege.
