2241  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you guess about he future of bitcoin? on: December 12, 2015, 12:33:20 AM
I think yes..as i can see now there are several bitcoin atm machine and according to news they are going add more..so i think the future for bitcoin is bright

I hope so that they will get more ATM with bitcoins.
So that when I go to the vacation I just can get me money thru bitcoin.

There's really no need for an ATM. If we can get bitcoin to be more known and be available to pay with in every shop, you wouldn't need an ATM.

bitcoin atm's are a great addition. not sure why you think there is no need for them. people must be able to exchange fiat and bitcoin back and forth. that will stimulate the adoption of bitcoin. i hope there will be more and more bitcoin atm's around the world.

I agree. BTC ATM's are a wonderful tool and build the bridge between crypto and fiat world.
I believe we will see way more ATMs already next year after the halving. The higher the price the more it will attract people and businesses to be part of it.
But the ease of use has to improve a lot imo.The average joe, not so techy people have problems how to use it.Therefore I hope the actual providers are working hard on that issue.

BTC ATM's are great. I absolutely love them as I can buy my Bitcoin from them, rather than buying it off a trading website. I am very sceptical about trading websites with all the scams happening. So Bitcoin ATM's are very good if you are a person like me.
2242  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you guess about he future of bitcoin? on: December 12, 2015, 12:05:55 AM
I think that in the distant future, Bitcoin will be the normal currency and everyone will know about it. Unlike today, where barely anyone know about it. In the future, I believe that the price of Bitcoin will exceed $1000.
2243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How have you helped spread the adoption of Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2015, 11:34:24 PM
i've tried talking to people at work about it but they just laughed me off saying there is no use for bitcoins...

Well you should just tell them that Bitcoin is the currency of the future. They will definitely believe you, or keep laughing at you. Why do they say that? There are a lot of uses for Bitcoin, so they don't know what they are talking about.
2244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How have you helped spread the adoption of Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2015, 11:10:35 PM
Well, I firstly have adopted bitcoin, and when more people do that, they drive the price up, and people see that, and join too. I've also told all my friends about bitcoin, and they were very intrigued. Only a few days ago, my friend bought 6 Antminer S7s! Do you think he'll get an ROI?

Some of my friends said i'm wasting too much time, and bitcoin is a bubble. Sometimes I believe them, sometimes I don't. It really depends on my mood.

Why does it depend on your mood? If you really enjoy using Bitcoin, what other people tell you shouldn't matter. I also have friends like this but I just never listen to them, they can say whatever they want.
2245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How have you helped spread the adoption of Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2015, 10:42:18 PM
I am trying to persuade some shops to adapt bitcoins Cheesy Otherwise i just hold them.

I have also been trying to do this but I have no luck. Most of the shops I ask, don't even know what Bitcoin is, they are always like: "I am not going to waste my money on this".
2246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How have you helped spread the adoption of Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2015, 10:38:25 PM
I told all my friends about Bitcoin and how it is a great way to pay for things online. Most of them now use and some of them are even on this forum, how great is that?
2247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Google supercomputer a threat? on: December 11, 2015, 11:03:30 AM
I don't think it will have a big impact on bitcoin. Therefore, I see no threat against bitcoin in anyway.
I don't mind google doing anything with bticoin though, hopefully they will adapt to bitcoin as a company as well.

I don't really see this having any impact on Bitcoin. And yeah, it would be nice if google adopts bitcoin and we can use it buy things on the google play store or use it on google wallet.
2248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Google supercomputer a threat? on: December 11, 2015, 11:00:30 AM
So what if google use it to start mining Bitcoin. The hash rate wouldn't be that much higher than the really good miners that are already on the market. And seriously, if google wanted to get into the Bitcoin industry, they would have done it a long time ago.
2249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving: how will it impact the bitcoin ecosystem? on: December 11, 2015, 10:46:21 AM
IF i was a speculator, i would buy as much bitcoins as i could right now, keep them untill after the halving and sell them when the price has risen...

I'm pretty sure prices will rise dramatically, since the supply will be smaller while the demand will (hopefully) rise... Pushing the price upwards.
The main question is: will the price be high enough for mining farms to still be profitable. This is a question that is much harder to answer.

This prediction is very wrong, because you're assuming the main volume of the market is made by only the mining operation, what isn't true.
The truth is that the price, if it will ever rise, it'll be in a small amount.

The last halving it needed a few months before the price ever changed, and it's not necessarily by the halving's fault.

To even get Bitcoin, you need to mine it right?( I mean before you buy it) So I don't really understand what you are trying to say. The main volume of Bitcoin is mad by the mining operation.
2250  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin halving: how will it impact the bitcoin ecosystem? on: December 11, 2015, 10:43:14 AM
I think that the price of Bitcoin will rise when the halving happens. This is because the Bitcoins would be mined slower so there would be less on the market. Also, the demand of Bitcoin is on the rise already so this will help with the price rise factor.
2251  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Segregated witness - The solution to scaling on: December 11, 2015, 10:14:20 AM
Lauda, explain Segregated Witness to me like I'm five.
It's a bit hard to correctly explain something so complex without leaving out important information. Let me try this: "Normally the transactionID is the hash of the signature and transaction", with the segregated witness the signatures are being excluded (as they consume 60% of the data on the blockchain now). In other words, they are going to re-work how this data is being stored (simplistic explanation without merkle tree) by excluding it from the block.

The positive outcome of this is an effective block-size of 4 MB with a soft fork. With effective I mean that they don't have to change the actual block size (that most people know of today).

And to me as if I'm just born
Read the bolded part. Addition: By changing how the data is stored, they are saving a lot of space (hence the effective block-size of 4 MB).

Oh ok. Now I get it. So they are going to take away the signatures, which in turn will lower the amount taken in a block, and then they are going to make the block-size bigger. That makes a lot sense. What are the downsides of doing this?
2252  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Segregated witness - The solution to Scalability (short term)? on: December 11, 2015, 10:10:26 AM
Could you please re-tell this topic in words that ordinary people, like me, will be able to understand? So there is something about malleability, stopping fraud and increasing the block-size, that is all I got from that.
2253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has satoshi just been found and raided on: December 11, 2015, 02:05:03 AM
How can you tell that this is Satoshi? This is just another one of those theories that people make. Why are the police raiding and attacking people that they just think are doing something bad? Hopefully they stop this nonsense.
2254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do people around you think about Bitcoin ? on: December 11, 2015, 12:58:18 AM
Anyone I tell never understands Bitcoin. I even have a friend that thinks Bitcoin is illegal, how retarded is he. But I don't really tell anyone about it after an incident where my friend got really pissed off at me because I told him to buy Bitcoin and he sold for a really low price, lost his money and then blamed it on me.
2255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is back ? on: December 10, 2015, 11:22:30 PM
Satoshi's miner probably used random outputs, the early bitcoins he mined are lost forever, he even hinted at it that only 20 mils will be available

Do you have any proof that Satoshi said this? There are a lot of people that pretend to be Satoshi you know. I am pretty sure that there is a max of 21 mil, not 20 mil, Bitcoin to be mined.
2256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is back ? on: December 10, 2015, 11:18:03 PM
How can you tell that this is Satoshi? Just because he has a lot of coins does't make him the maker of Bitcoin, this is just someone's prediction. It could just be an early investor of Bitcoin. Please don't make up these kinds of theories.
2257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: December 10, 2015, 08:36:25 PM
I really only use Mycelium on my phone, but it generates multiple addresses.  I know that's different.  But I also use a Xapo wallet for when I do their faucets.  I used to  have a blockchain one, but it just totally sucked, but those are all I use.

You actually still do faucets. I thought we had gotten past the day and age when people did faucets, but I guess not. Signature campaign is much faster way of earning bitcoin.
2258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: December 10, 2015, 08:33:01 PM
It's needed for increased privacy.

Can't you just use 1 wallet with multiple addresses if you wanted privacy? I feel that that is much more convenient way to get around the privacy factor.
2259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: December 10, 2015, 08:30:34 PM
I think people use more than one wallet because they think it safe enough.
but so far I only have one wallet, I quite feel safe.

Exactly. I find it very weird that people think it is safer to use multiple wallets. I only use 2 Wasleys, and nothing has ever happened to them.

Well, its not exactly the feeling of safety for me...its the anonymity. The reason why I don't do ALL my transactions on one address is because all of my transactions will be visible to anyone, they can also find out what I was buying and when...its like posting up your bank transaction history

Just like the guy I just replied to, I am not asking why you use multiple addresses, I am asking why you use multiple wallets. Please read the topic more clearly before you make a response.
2260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people use so many Bitcoin wallets? on: December 10, 2015, 08:27:58 PM
I only use blockchain.info and coinbase, I know that they aren't the best secured wallets you can get, but they are certainly the most convenient IMO.

Others may use cold wallets or paper wallets because they want to secure their fortunes a bit more. But I don't really give about half a coin  Wink

Really...... Blockchain.Info. With all its bugs and crashes you are still using it. It also had a low level of security compared to Coinbase. I only use blockchain.info to check blocks and addresses. But I do use coinbase as it's a great web wallet.
