Hello! New to bitcoin and the forum. Saw this topic and thought I'd add my bitcoin address to the lotto. 1HY9W75TN28d2Qbf3Kb8CNXsPQqLJvpuD1 Just created that address for use here, as mentioned earlier in the thread. Thanks Portnoy you're awesome for helping us newbies out! Added... Hello all! I'm still pretty new to BTC. Been mining for a few weeks with a GPU. Also tried a few free BTC sites, but many transactions did not get confirmed at all I'd love to take part in this Newbie Lotto! My BTC-address (made freshly for this purpose) is the following: 1Dc5qNgqJ41qutvUUX317MezphQKDXkHtx Thanks in advance for this chance! Added... Welcome!

About bitvisit.com there is a bad news, site will be shut down for an idefinate period of time. To quote from the admin of the site: I am sorry but This site will be shut down for an indefinate period of time.. I just poured in another $250 worth of advertising in to this and some of you hackers out there just stole it. I have tried really hard to make this a success and spent a lot of money just to find people cheat and hacked it. Needless to say I am sorry for those legitimate users and advertisers. - Admin Will be removed from the list on the next update. I had a bad feeling when balance went to 0 after payment request was made and no payment received. They owe me 0.00245000. Should have stopped being a lamb after getting stiffed the first time The site is still up. These no-money sites should put up warnings of no payment instead of business as usual. It's unfortunate that more than a few sites operate like that. Why give out BTC when you can get people coming to your site and clicking on ads etc., while giving out nothing? That is why I list discontinued sites in the OP; so people know which sites to avoid, and so people won't keep posting recommendations for certain non-working sites to be added to the list, when they come across these sites in the wild.

Coinbase re-added to the list the 'earn Bitcoin' category. Earn 0.01 BTC for every user you refer to Coinbase who buys or sells at least 1 BTC

well i was able to watch them but on 7 straight videos i watched i got no credit for me even tho i have done nothing to my system or browsers and and been getting paid and my videos approved (15 approved last 7 refused). so in a way , no videos for me but they have paid just recently tho. I see the thumbnails for the videos but when I click on one to play it I get this message: "The service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

And has anyone else noticed that, despite trying very, very hard to make it look legit, the free bitcoin lottery seems to pay out small winnings on about 1 out of 3 plays? Doesn't that seem an order of magnitude too easy for a 6/49 game? Not that I'm complaining, it's fun to feel like I'm 10x luckier than everybody else, but it smells fishy.
The fact that they're effectively getting 3-5 captchas for about the same average payout per hour as each of the clone faucets makes me think they're just a classier captcha farm. Oh, well, I enjoyed it for a while, I'll keep doing it until I hit the coinbox payout and then stop until something that doesn't feel sleazy comes along to legitimize coinbox.
Thanks for your views. I suspect that coinbox and that lottery and all the sites that use coinbox are all part of the same thing. It is all rather curious. The coinbox thing is a good idea. It would be nice if more sites could use that, are something like it, especially now with the new small tx rules. I didn't mention this in the newbie thread because I don't want to turn off newbies from bitcoin. I imagine the pitiful ROI discourages most of them before they enrich the spammers too horribly much, anyway, if that's what's really going on here. *shrug*
I wouldn't worry too much. I don't think it will turn off too many and if people can't see the true intrinsic value of Bitcoin and are just in it for small freebies they won't have much of an effect on the Bitcoin economy one way or the other.

coinbox.me has a nice list of faucets that use their service to bypass the 5430 satoshi rule. And you can check the balance at coinbox.me even if the faucet sites don't give out balance. Checking the balance of a BTC address on coinbox.me: Pending microtransactions Total paid: 0.00000000 BTC Pending amount: 0.00000020 BTC You'll get paid as soon as you reach 0.00005500 BTC read: you'll get paid as soon as you are done repeating what you just did 274 more times A lot of those newer faucets in the list which use coinbox give out 100 SAT ( 0.00000100 BTC ) every half hour, so that means 55 faucets visits... less if you play that 6/49 lotto every now and then. The only sites listed at coinbox that aren't already listed in this thread's OP are BitCats.net and BitcoinSpain.net They will be added on the next update. ( I too wonder if coinbox and all those sites are run by the same people... ) well just made a small discovery *evil eye* . coinbox plays the free daily and just maybe the hourly ones they have listed as well. What i found was that while checking one of my unconfirmed transactions that i noticed coinbox was a recipient of the amount that the other 99 people of the 100 before processing payment.check out this transaction and see for yourself at 10:59:09 5/29/2013: https://blockchain.info/tx/c0505200e529b2c7defc6104981ef60e0c87812695586dd0d5ea1ddfde7a9359from Bitcoin World Faucet (BitCoinWorld.me) i am also listed as one of the other 98 there for the amount of 0.000015. The transaction above that one for 0.00001 is another one with the same sender i also have but can not remember just yet, so trying to confirm that one and will post back when or/if confirmed. Now i am not saying the exchanges or coin holders/distributors should not be playing but wouldnt that be kind of a conflict of interest? I am not sure what you are getting at... ( haven't had my coffee yet this morning ) Where is the conflict? I kinda suspect that all the sites that coinbox has listed - all the sites which use coinbox - are sites they themselves control. I don't know if there is anything wrong with that as long as people get the free coin they are promised by each site ( although it would be nice to get one bigger prize from one site instead of a lot of tiny ones from many sites ). I don't see any more sites being added. Newbcoin.com for instance has expressed an interest in that service and it doesn't seem they so far have been added. I sent coinbox an email asking about their service and how it all works etc. and haven't heard anything back yet after a couple days.

I haven't won yet, and every time I play the list is full of losers. The odds say 1:27 but when you play, it says the odds were 1:100. Also, they haven't posted a new payout tx since last year. I am suspicious about the site actually allowing people to win at this point. Thanks for the report. I will probably remove it again on the next update. They don't send any payment anymore (at least on the free daily scratchcard game), last time i've played (more than 1 month ago) i won 0.01 BTC with the 1:95 odds but they never delivered. Unfortunately i don't have any screen to prove what i'm saying From my experience with the site and from other reports I can believe you. It has been removed from the list. Thanks for your input.

Some sites pay so low. More info how much to expect would be good
That changes often. Most of the newer ones which use coinbox currently give 100 satoshis every half hour. So i guess it would be pain in the ass to track how much every site give out currently. Yes, it is hard enough trying to keep up with all the sites that come and go... go down and then come back up again etc. see the recent posts about the daily scratchcard for example... I guess i will stick with my favorites and never check others again
Yes, that's the way to do it. This is never gonna to make you a lot of money so you shouldn't treat it like a job. It is best to just pick some that you enjoy checking, whether it is everyday or just every now and then.
