1)
Looks like $500 btc is coming round that mountain, and for a Monday, to me that portend a really good shopping week.

you ready

I got mine, well 1/4 of my goal at least. I really want some sub 500 tho... 540 is good but....

visted bank this morning to find out my ability to borrow, heres to hoping i get to max it out with 300-400$ coins... (i wont borrow money unless the coins are sub 400)
Well best option is to not borrow at all :-)
I hope you will get lucky and price will hit 400 $ and a week after 1000 $

But there is a risk... and when you borrow money from a bank to invest into btc risk is higher :-)

Sell something or cut back on your lifestyle for a while. Getting a loan out is a bad idea.

please note, even though the numbers and market might make sense for that action, the MT Gox matter should have taught you that even if you do everything right you can lose all of your money; and before the MG fiasco you should also be aware that hackers are always a problem at every end of the transaction.  Borrowing funds to gamble with is a very complex bet, one that you really should look at many ways other than just left to right or top to bottom, like inside-out, backwards, and all-the-way-around.

Don't borrow money from the bank to buy btc for speculation

2263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Needs More US Exchanges on: February 25, 2014, 06:07:34 PM
Bitcoin needs more US exchanges like Coinbase, what are all of the quality exchanges of any size in the US?

What I mean by quality is respect for customers, regard for laws, high security, and knowledgeable about Bitcoin.

additionally, they are sending out many statements implying that many coins were stolen from them.

I haven't seen this yet.  Can you provide a link?

sorry, I don't have any links I tend not to keep track of stuff that I believe to be unreliable

if you see a thread title:  Gox lost 750,000 btc, or gox hacked for $2 billion worth of btc, or things like that it will bring you to the links
2265  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where did Mt Gox go? on: February 25, 2014, 03:55:53 PM
and they are back to GAME is not over!
Did they only just realize that they might be pulling the price down?!?!?! GENIUS!!!

yes, they are geniuses, they want values to tank so that when they do close their doors they could point to the fiat value of the coin and say: "that's what I owe".

additionally, they are sending out many statements implying that many coins were stolen from them.

Mtgox.com:

Dear MtGox Customers,

In the event of recent news reports and the potential repercussions on MtGox's operations and the market, a decision was taken to close all transactions for the time being in order to protect the site and our users. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will react accordingly.

Best regards,
MtGox Team

It takes a lot of brave instead of sitting at home typing typing . He at least tried to talk personally Smiley

true, and not just once, he committed himself to the cause
2268  Economy / Speculation / Re: TIP: Buy now because the price dip is now ending on: February 25, 2014, 03:25:36 PM
Dream on my friend. Please be aware not to risk more than you are willing to lose. No one cares about good news. The trend is down and as long as we do not see a final capitulation event including a double bottom, you should take the advice and stay in fiat... USD 500 for a bitcoin ? still delusional...

love it, keep that up, chase them away as much as possible even though I saw the double bottom at $500, I really want to experience a purchase at $400+
2269  Economy / Speculation / Re: TIP: Buy now because the price dip is now ending on: February 25, 2014, 03:23:46 PM

2270  Economy / Speculation / Re: TIP: Buy now because the price dip is now ending on: February 25, 2014, 03:21:24 PM
its going to take a couple days before big money reacts to this news and comes in to buy
as most exchanges have a few day delay for deposits
im waiting 2-3 days for my cavirtex deposit to arrive on a verified account...

Yeah sure, big money has gained a lot of trust in Exchanges and people will now wire fiat as if there was no tomorrow !!

Trust is gone. Bitcoin prices will fall further.

that is a normal reaction in a more well established market, such is not the case for btc ... so some will run away, and farrrrr more will be more than happy to bid up the coins left behind.

2271  Economy / Auctions / Overscratched USA $10 iTunes Gift Card ... auction #3 on: February 25, 2014, 03:12:46 PM
Selling An Overscratched USA $10 iTunes Gift Card

Armis does many promos involving itunes gift cards, a while back we did a number of promotions where $10 gift cards codes was the prize.

The way we transferred the instrument was to scratch off the 'scratch off' to reveal the code then scan it for email delivery.  At times overzealous scratching resulted in removal of part of the code. since the card has no expiration date we decided to 'bank' the overscratched cards for some subsequent promotion.   Although we had many other itunes promotions since we never went back to those cards, we always bought new ones.

I have many $10 iTunes gift cards that I intend to auction off individually.

Auction will start at only $8 to encourage an early response.  You may pay with any equivalent value currency listed on the Cryptsy or Poloniex exchange.

After receipt of payment and your email address I will scan then eship your gift card to you.  Upon receipt contact Apple customer service with the GCA# who will in turn give you the remaining numbers missing from the code.

Auction is one day only (24 hrs from the start of auction)

good luck and enjoy

2273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: amir taaki on bbc :( on: February 25, 2014, 03:04:22 PM
Juding him on a performance in 2012, is a bit rough. Those critiquing him likely wouldn't do it better.

I'd like to know why it is that people willingly choose not to dress appropriately for a TV interview in which appearance is clearly a vital part of the presentation?

Appearance isn't everything - judge on the content. Do you really want him to look like a bankster!? He looked like one of us; one among many, rather than representing a vested interest perpetuating exisiting power and wealth. Good luck to him I say.

Also, I swaer this thread is going in circles now. Repeat FUD and read again.

BTC represents a currency and then some, ALL of it is based on faith, as such you must believe in the system.  Humans are hard wired to not be attracted to things they feel go against their senses, for example things that smell bad, taste bad, feel bad, sound bad, or look bad.

Put it this way, stick to radio.

for everyone that wanted their money out of MT Gox, bitcoin dude said "give us our money"
for everyone that wanted to curse Mt Gox, bitcoin dude [I don't know his name] confronted the Mt Gox CEO on your behalf,
for everyone that was too busy, broke, dejected, or proud to do a public protest, bitcoin dude made the trip, braved the cold, and walked the walk.
for everyone that join him on the protest line, or signed an electronic petition, or started a thread demanding accountability from Mt Gox, bitcoin dude was the poster child of your  cause.
and
for everyone that lost money with Mt Gox, bitcoin dude clearly shared in your loss

I didn't lose shit-oshi at Mt Gox, but I give bitcoin dude big props for taking a righteous stand in a responsible fashion.

i heard amir lost all his bitcoins. Sad

amir is clearly losing it.

is he on drugs? because he looks completely fucked up.

not a great spokeperson for bitcoin.

I agree that he was not a great spokesperson for Btc, however he did speak intelligently on it.

I'd like to know why it is that people willingly choose not to dress appropriately for a TV interview in which appearance is clearly a vital part of the presentation?

2280  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the greatest lesson of MtGox? on: February 25, 2014, 11:50:17 AM
What is the greatest lesson of MtGox?

1)  The mountains of evidence can be hard to see with $signs in your eyes.
2)  If a company screws up in a major way once, forgiveness should not be followed by reinvestment.
3)  Hope is not a reasonable investment strategy.
4)  Mountains can crumble, and when they do the fallout is felt worldwide.
and
5)  Whoever the guy is that went to Japan from UK to protest is now a Bitcoin hero.
