Trading Notes:

DNotes created two historical records the last couple of days that are worth noting. On Monday Feb. 23, 2015 the trading volume at Poloniex reached 108 BTC and on the following day, the buy side demand exceeded 18 BTC. These may not mean much to other P&D coins but of significance to DNotes. They should be considered as stress tests which DNotes did well. I have been observing the action quite anxiously and feel a sense of relief that the new gains are holding up nicely today. The trading volume is likely to return to a more sustainable range to 10 to 20 BTC daily. This volume should be trending higher as DNotes get discovered.  We should continue to take our time and do things right. Thanks for supporting the market.

We had a record volume at Polo yesterday. It was fast and furious; almost a minor state of confusion. A lot of people wanted to get in and many wanted to get out, perhaps without knowing "why" one way or another. The indicators are quite different today. We have a record buy wall of over 18 BTC  so far but then not many are willing to sell. It is a clear indication of an up trend with a more manageable volume.

Let's take it one step further. At some time in the future a local government set up an account at DNotesVault and all payments to that local government go directly to a separate DNotes deposit address as appropriated. All transactions are recorded and verifiable in the public ledger of the Blockchain. All revenue can be tracked and audited by curious citizens. And the cost is new zero with potential long term appreciation if the funds are not drawn immediately. This is a viable use case.

You are right, Grandmama. It is a lot more dependable to do the hard work and earn what is achievable than to hope for something that only happens "once in a blue moon". But then Richard Branson may accept DNotes as payment for the future moon trips he envisioned. LOL.

We had a record volume of over 100 BTC traded at Polo yesterday. Today will be an interesting day. It is due for an up trend. It will be quite positive if the trading range moves up (3800 to 4100 sat today verse 3600 to 4000 sat yesterday) I agree. Why go for the moon when it is safer and more fun at home? LOL.  

Very impressive volume at Polo and DNotes has been holding up well. Looks like someone has been trying to give DNotes a stress test. Expect wider trading range.

Trust is Central to the Success of Bitcoin - A Trustless Decentralized System

Bitcoin is often described as a decentralized peer-to-peer trustless payment consensus network without the participation of central authority or middlemen. The elegant design of Bitcoin to enable trustless transactions is a technology breakthrough and hence the term “trustless” has been heavily promoted; possibly over hyped.

In order to avoid confusion, making it easier for laypersons to understand, we have purposely worded the description of DNotes  differently: “DNotes is a Bitcoin alternative cryptographically created digital currency based on a novel decentralized peer to peer model, where trust is replaced by mathematical algorithms, eliminating the need of an intermediary such as a bank or an automatic clearing house.”

As time goes on, it is becoming apparent that the word “trustless’ is misunderstood and over used in our industry. It is ironic that in an industry that promotes “trustless” or the unnecessary need for a trusted third party is becoming the least trustworthy space we have ever encountered. It is even more troubling to observe that it has become a costly public relation nightmare that may be difficult to correct, resulting in a delay in mass acceptance of digital currency.

The root cause of the confusion is due to the lack of understanding as to what it takes to make Bitcoin a disruptive technology. To begin with we must understand that there are two distinctive components that must work well together to be potently disruptive; a technology component and a human component.

The technology component is well understood. Bitcoin is a cryptographically created digital currency using the Bitcoin protocol, and recorded in the blockchain, an Inter-wide distributed public ledger verifiable by anyone, anywhere with internet connection. The trustless feature is limited to the transfer of digital properties between two parties. Once an additional party is involved, the integrity of the trustless feature is compromised and may not be trustworthy any longer.

The human component that has caused the industry much grief is the result of the serious misunderstanding of the trustless feature that has been over hyped. Strictly speaking, any human intervention voids the pure concept of decentralization and the trustless feature. The line may be blurred at times whether trust and integrity must triumph, when in practical terms you constantly oscillate between both the trustless technology component and the trusted human component.
 
Until our industry is ready for a cultural change from one of an over dependence on pure decentralization and  “trustless” power to one of trust and integrity designed to take full advantage of the innovative decentralized trustless system, we may all be in for a long struggle before mass acceptance of digital currency becomes a reality.

The trading volume at Poloniex is quite impressive. I am seeing good indications of an up trend. DNotes has accomplished a lot over the last sixty days with increased awareness worldwide. It is currently undervalued based on our growth and growth path.

I have been working on an important post but a little too exhausted to finish it. Hopefully, I will get it done this evening or early tomorrow. It is based on a very compelling argument why our industry might have over played its hand on the "trustless" feature of Bitcoin.

I noticed that too. The volume shot up: 24hr Volume: 36.61659096 BTC / 954178.19886501 NOTE. It could be an early sign of the next up trend.

We had a great dinner with much left over. I won't go into details but it was a 9 course dinner. We are Hakka Chinese, best known for a number of dishes, like bean curd, egg plant, green pepper and black mushroom stuffed with freshly meat ball stuffing. The meat stuffing takes hours to make and must be done with great skill. I also made roast pork with crisp skin, another challenging disk. Home made egg roll is always a big hit. I make among the best egg rolls. That was a lot of work and I am still in recovery mode.

You guys are doing great. Don't expect much participation from me till Sunday. I am prepearing a Chinese New Year feast for tomorrow, the third day of the year. It is typically for New Year's Eve but we don't get any day off in the US.
