22661  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] [NEW RATES] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: February 19, 2015, 01:29:39 PM
Just curious why so many people requesting weekly payments. Is it a trust issue...as in do not want to risk posting for a month and not getting paid? What do people do with tiny payments...gamble them? I see it asked so much just curious...
it is both "trust issues" and needing the bitcoin on a weekly basis. not after a month.

and also it is the matter of price. bitcoin is 200$ today and it will be 300$ tomorrow and it will be 100$ the day after that

I used to know all ends at Valentine's day. Now, what the heck is this CakeDay ?
cakeday is a reddit term. i think it is the 1 year anniversary of the person who joined reddit. like 1 year birthday or something like that

i see people giving/asking for loans talk about collateral?
what are the things that are considered collateral

i only know of the bitcointalk account, and most importantly i want to know how does it work?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0
its explain here!

Let us know if u have more questions
so for example if i want to get a loan and give my account here as collateral, i should give the Escrow my username and password right?

Change the password before giving it.. You are aware of that, right?

Good stable Altcoins are another good collateral.
yeah and that is a good thing to keep in mind Cheesy
22667  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Noob on: February 18, 2015, 04:42:22 PM
Hey all,

I am entirely new to the world of Bitcoin. I have studied various Bitcoin topics the last 1.5 weeks including mining, exchanging, P2P lending etc.

I stumbled on this forum today and noticed the microloans are all very small like maybe $10 or so (although some are higher).

1. I dont understand why someone would borrow such a small amount? Do they exchange it back to real currency and buy something. or trade for other cryptocurrency or what?

2. I have opened a my own BTC account and would like to start funding it, Would someone be willing to loan BTC to a total newcomer like myself?

As I said, totally new to the bitcoin world, but want to learn.

Regards

why do you want a loan if you are new to bitcoin. what are you going to do with borrowed bitcoin?!
if you want to learn either buy BTC or work for it!

22671  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Encompass released - Multi-Coins Electrum client on: February 17, 2015, 03:56:11 PM
Great news for the Electrum technology!

Mazacoin's developers have released, 10 days ago, a Multi-Coin version of Electrum.  Based on the latest release of Electrum, Encompass amalgamates many coins in one interface, allowing to change from one coin to the other in a few seconds (select new coin in the menu bar).  It uses the BIP44 standard for each coins.  Meaning, that one seed is used for all the coin types in your unique wallet.

Coins currently supported are MZC (of course), LTC, BTC and VIA.  DRK is currently under review (pull request) by mazaclub team members.

It only requires a coin developer to submit one page of code (the coin specs) to Encompass, to add a coin to the service - great idea!  Of course, coin developers have to provide the Electrum servers to support their coins, as this interface is only for the client part of the system.

Encompass currently supports the following POW algorithms: Scrypt (LTC, VIA), SHA256 (BTC, MZC) and soon X11 (DRK).

Github: https://github.com/mazaclub/encompass
reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/mazacoin/comments/2v1ms5/multicurrency_lightweight_hd_bip0044_wallet/
developers:  https://mazacoin.org/development-team/

PS: Trezor support is currently disabled, pending further testing.
it is a good thing they did. but why isn't there Doge and Reddcoin in the list. i know that they both have individual clients

Bittrex Says ‘Bye bye’ To 36 Altcoins In Their System
http://bitforum.info/t/bittrex-says-bye-bye-to-36-altcoins-in-their-system/290

So, maybe this company thinks that Bitcoin, Litecoin, Doge and Dark should only be invited in a party.

How about that?
it is a good move by bittrex, i saw the email they sent me. but it doesn't matter since every week i see at least 2 new altcoins appear out of nowhere on bittrex just to see the same inevitable end
22674  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: CoinLearn.org : Newbie Learning + Hourly Earning on: February 17, 2015, 03:31:36 PM
Good rates IMO (Considering the amount of effort), The learning part isn't that serious though since there are few slides that get repeated again and again.
the rates are diminishing, it doesn't stay as high as what you see now. as you get closer and closer to the end the rewards keeps getting smaller Cheesy
22675  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hiding wallet complexities for newbies on: February 17, 2015, 03:29:03 PM
Hi All,

I installed Electrum on my Win 7 pc and I'm now trying to learn how to use it properly.

I'm a newbie now digging into bitcoin details. Wow. It's a little more complicated than I expected. I'm now trying to wrap my head around things like Change Addresses and related topics. Not easy for a newb like me. But I like learning new things.

Are there wallets keychains that successfully and safely hide all the complexities of Change Addresses without putting coins at risk? Or, to put it another way, what is the best wallet for total techno-phobic newbies who are allergic to any technical details?

Is something like the Coinbase online wallet best for total non-geek newbies? Does the Coinbase wallet successfully and safely hide all Change Address and other complexity?

Thanks,

Advait

PS: I'm a fanatic about backing up my important data in multiple ways.

PPS: I'm also reading thru the posts at http://bitzuma.com/posts/a-beginners-guide-to-the-electrum-bitcoin-wallet/. There's a lot to learn!

i think if you are having trouble with wallets and security and also you don't have much BTC, you should start with online wallets like coinbase and blockchain.info
then switch to desktop

22678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can someone tell me which is the most secure of the offline wallets? on: February 17, 2015, 03:12:38 PM
Im new here can some one tell me what is offline wallets?

Thanks
ANything not connected to the network is an offline wallet.
Its for safety of the bitcoins. Wink

How bitcoin are safe in offline wallet. How we can cash out our btc from offline wallet?

you use offline signed transactions to safely move funds out of cold storage.

If you create your offline wallet with Electrum, you can follow https://electrum.org/tutorials.html#offline-mpk to spend your bitcoin safely.
Or, you can import your private key to any hot wallet and spend it.

Just to make sure,my paper wallet is offline right ?
your paper wallet is printed on a piece of paper, unless you find a way to connect a paper to internet you are offline!:D

invest is a wrong word to use dude. you are asking for a big loan and as everyone else told you on the topic you have to provide a decent collateral for it
