the latter of guarantee easily can be manipulated
You're trying to extend your exit scam.

The whole point of a Letter of Guarantee is that a cryptographic signature can't be manipulated.

Like I said:
If this is a technical glitch, please send the funds to the right address and I'll confirm that here.
But your response doesn't look like it's a technical glitch:
ChipMixer employee publish scam accusations on us, how surprising...

We never scammed anyone you can take your bullshit accusations somewhere else.
Post an evidence or begone to chipmixer.

Please publish the letter of guarantee, which pretty easily can be manipulated or faked.
Please enlighten me how to fake a Bitcoin signed message.

Just in case, let me archive your address 1BiTmixiWvteyHDNC8oZ9H2DvQFU7GwQPp :

ChipMixer employee publish scam accusations on us, how surprising...
I'm not an employee of ChipMixer, and my signature has nothing to do with this. Then again, you know that already.

It's not my call to publish the Letter of Guarantee.

Proof of Payment:
In my posession, if tobericher allows it I'll ask escrow zazarb to confirm it too.
I haven't heard back from tobericher anymore, so I've asked Vod if I can forward the Letter of Guarantee to him to confirm the scam.
22764  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day - Why old members are no longer active here on: June 18, 2018, 12:28:21 PM
Lack of innovation is the one I guess killing the forum. In addition with you example:
Consider Facebook in 2010/11 and now. Back in those days Facebook used to look like a simple php driven website and now it a massive application with enormous features.
Bad example: I liked Facebook more back then, before they forced a timeline and started deciding for me what I want to see (because they earn from it).
I've seen several forums "innovate", and in all cases I liked the old version better. For me, a forum doesn't have to change it's looks and behaviour once it works well and I know where to find stuff. A forum upgrade would also mean existing scrapers won't work anymore.
I do like the added Merit though, and I'd love to see more upgrades like it.
22765  Other / Meta / Re: Most of bounty manager's are too careless about scam ICO. on: June 18, 2018, 10:56:48 AM
Then how do we tackle this problem?
How about a warning on all Altcoin boards, like the Securities board:
Quote
Warning: Moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Watch out for Ponzi schemes. Do not invest more than you can afford to lose.

Altcoins, ICOs and Forkcoins are created with only one goal: make the creator rich. And people have always joined them with one goal: get a share of that newly created wealth.
ICOs are just another step in a long line of money grabbers, and Tokens are even easier to create than setting up your own altcoin. And that's why a general warning on those boards would be good.

I think not only the managers, but also bumpers and low rankers that spam the thread just to be notice their scam campaigns. These were already discussed already, is there any action?
There is some action: users can now only delete their posts on certain boards after 24 hours. But that's not enough.
As bad as the spam is nowadays, I wouldn't be against a pay-per-post on those boards. A big spam thread easily reaches 5000 posts. I'd say that should cost at least $1000, say $0.20 per post. It could be paid by the thread starter, who opens a thread that allows up to 5000 posts, or by each participant, who can buy credit to post on the bounty/altcoin boards.
Or it may be easier to restrict those boards to Copper Members only. If they want to spam with 30 bumpbots, at least the forum earns something from it.
22766  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit buyer, abusing merit system on: June 18, 2018, 09:08:13 AM
1 merit = 0.05 ETH
3 merit = 0.15 ETH
They can't be seriously paying $25 per Merit, right? I'd say it's much more likely to be a scam.
At $25 per Merit, a Member account is valued $250, and a Legendary at $25000. It just doesn't make any sense.

Update: these numbers would mean I gave away approximately $10k worth of Merit Cheesy
22767  Other / Meta / Re: Banned From the Forum. Why is it so? (Hero Member) on: June 18, 2018, 08:15:45 AM
It's because of this:
Lol, a week later, he reported plagiarism.
22768  Other / Meta / Re: let's cut the bullshit on: June 18, 2018, 08:12:49 AM
Spread the word!  To advance past Legendary you need to have not shown a paid signature for 180 days!
I joined the forum on February 26, 2015, and joined my first paid signature campaign on February 15 the next year.
Now when can I expect to be more-than-Legendary?
22769  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Do you own a shitcoin? lol Find out. on: June 17, 2018, 08:02:47 PM
I like how you put GBYTE as a HODL Cheesy
It's the one coin I have most hope for, and it's also the coin that lost so much of my free airdrop value over the past year!

In case anyone wants to read the source code (pretty simple/readable), and are too lazy to find it, here's a link: http://doiownashitcoin.com/static/js/dioas.js
I'll post the coin lists here, so we can look back at those choices in 5 years:

22770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Big Mistake, transaction from BTC to Tether (USDT), please help. on: June 17, 2018, 07:32:04 PM
What can I do?
If your transaction is under $5000, you can only hope Bittrex will at some point change their cross chain recovery policy.
Public pressure may help, but ultimately it's the shitcoins that are to blame for using the same address format as Bitcoin. I can imagine exchanges creating an "annual cross chain recovery day", in which they handle all requests from the past year.

Technically, Bittrex can recover your Bitcoins but that would be at a security risk to them as they would have to import the private key for their usdt wallet into another Bitcoin wallet
This explains it nicely (it's about Kraken but Bittrex will use similar security measures):
This is what Kraken replied to me:

"You are absolutely correct about us possessing the private keys in this circumstance. That being said, it isn't as straight forward as you might think. Kraken is a cryptocurrency exchange and the nature of cryptocurrency exchanges are wholly different from the experience you might have with a personal wallet where you have easy access to the private keys. With things like the theft of Mt Gox, the internal compromise of Shapeshift, the social engineering of BitPay, and others, we must put security as the paramount concern. As such, our exchange is setup in such a way that nobody within Kraken can unilaterally move funds. We believe that this is a very important protection that makes it extremely difficult for client funds to be stolen by external or internal parties.

Only a very small group of people at Kraken (devs) have the ability to access your funds given an auditable thorough process of checks and balances. This makes the process extremely resource (time) intensive for the devs that have very full plates and very little time to dedicate to any specific task. They must prioritize all of our tasks internally and the requests of clients as best they can. We think that the prioritization of improving our UI/UX as to avoid these type of mistakes will show the greatest dividends for our clients.

For what it's worth, Kraken made an exception:
In this case we have decided that we are going to make an exception to our general policy of not recovering crypto tokens that have been sent to the wrong address and assist you with the recovery. However, our developers, who are required to recover the funds for you, are very busy at the moment.

We will have to ask you to wait a minimum of 90 days until the recovery can be attempted. These efforts will take time and may not be possible in some cases. We will give you an update only after the recovery has been completed. Please be patient as our team works to resolve your issue.
22771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core questions on: June 17, 2018, 06:01:09 PM
Can I keep a Bitcoin Core wallet in an external hard drive ?
Yes you can. Note that your "wallet.dat" is only a few MB, the full blockchain is close to 200 GB now.

Quote
If yes do I only need to copy the directories or I can install it in it just like can install for example a game to use in my PC directly from this external hard drive ?
This will depend on your OS, assuming you use Windows, I can't tell you Tongue

Quote
How much of a size should I buy the hard drive in order to keep the Bitcoin Core there for at least 10 years, 4 TB ,8 TB or 16 TB (not sure if there are 16 TB external hard drives here) ?
The Bitcoin blockchain grows approximately 1 GB per week, maybe more if you store full SegWit blocks.
I wouldn't assume your hard drive will last 10 years (backup your wallet.dat!), and suggest to just get 1 TB at most. By the time blockchain fills it, new drives will be much cheaper again.

Note that using an external drive in different computers risks exposing your wallet to more malware.

22773  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gleb Gamow account was sold Proof on: June 17, 2018, 01:33:12 PM
Everyone saying that every account selling accounts get tagged is wrong there is currently a legendary member trying to sell an account in the auction board but not one really cares about that because it's not someone who is as well known as Gleb.
The seller is known, the account to be sold is still unidentified.

Quote
I am not going to argue that the tag is not justified but to anyone claiming anyone would of got this treatment is wrong. Only The Pharmacist seems to be consistent in tagging people who sell accounts. Everyone else is just looking to slay a giant.
As much as I appreciate his consistency, I would argue there's a difference between a green trusted Legendary selling an account and a Newbie selling his dozens of farmed accounts. The latter is less likely to cause massive spam, although I think the account should have a neutral tag stating the date of the sale. But tagging sold accounts won't be possible as long as sellers are being tagged, and sales are an undergrounnd market.
If accounts sales would be public, the buyer would know his account will be scrutinized, and he'll have to be very careful not to spam from his "investment".

I'm not sure that an account should be red tagged just because it has been purchased.  I think some sort of alert stating that the acoount had changed hands might be more useful. Of course if the new owner abuses the account, then red tagging may be necessary. Also., I believe that positive trust should be reset to zero, as the trust referred to the previous owner.
That won't always work, as the accounts that left the positive trust may not even be active anymore.

Buying an account is like cheating the Activity and Merit systems, which were introduced to restrict the spamming capacity for new users.
Apart from the farmed spam accounts, I can think of arguments for both sides. Therefore I won't tag account sales myself, but I'll present evidence if I find it.
22774  Other / Meta / Re: Swiss army knife Tool to query Merit data online - Full History on: June 17, 2018, 12:08:32 PM
i'm planning to add directly the topic name as well, beside the link pointing directly to the merited message.
I can get you a list if you want.
22775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to identify etc address. on: June 17, 2018, 12:04:29 PM
An address is just created out of a random number, in general, there's no way of telling how it was created. If the address has been used, you may be able to do some chain analysis.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
22776  Other / Meta / Re: One small Forum improvement on: June 17, 2018, 11:10:50 AM
It's been suggested before to add a feature to only show merited posts, or some sort of ranking.
I expect (hope!) this will be implemented once the Merit system has been around long enough to have enough merited posts to be worth the changes.

I could make a (very long) list of all merited posts, sorted by merit amount if anyone is interested.
22777  Other / Meta / Re: This is why merit sources shouldn't be known publicly. on: June 17, 2018, 11:09:04 AM
I've had maybe one or two PMs from Merit beggars in the past. Just report them, and forget about them.

One thing that I will suggest to merit sources. Please look at recent post history if a guy appears to be trying. I see that some members are active and productive members of the community, but they don't receive any merit. This is because they don't make any of those outstanding posts in the high reward topic threads.
That's the thing: merit isn't only meant for outstanding posts. Being "outstanding" means it receives more merit, but posts only need to be "good" to be merited.
Remember that Merit was meant to discourage spam, and if someone isn't spamming, they're already far above the forum's average.

On a side note: You're very active rewarding merit, but you haven't left any trust feedback at all. Is there a reason for that?
22778  Other / Meta / Re: ANATOMY OF SCAMS on: June 17, 2018, 10:26:56 AM
Where shell I move it ? It does not belong to scam accusations board as well. The only board I can move this is Beginners & Help https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0
On those boards, it will just disappear under loads of other topics.
I think it would look good as a sticky thread on Announcements (Altcoins), but that would be up to mprep to arrange.
22779  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gleb Gamow account was sold Proof on: June 17, 2018, 08:53:40 AM
Let me say this now and here: if suchmoon agrees on locking the account, I will remove my red tag on him. lets be honest suchmoon has tried to help Gleb.
But she/he could've helped him simply by lending him the money, what suchmoon did was accepting a DT2 account as a sort of collateral, clearly suchmoon didn't trust Gleb enough. is that what suchmoon good for? to blatantly accept an account(DT2) as a collateral?
The way I see it, suchmoon offered this for 3 reasons:
1. Help Gleb out with $600
2. Prevent the account to be bought by someone else
3. Make your head explode

Let me go on the record to say that if Gleb ever needs $600 again I call dibs on his account just to prevent it from falling into wrong hands and to preserve its post history.

Let's watch digaran's head explode now.
I'd say all 3 goals have been reached!
I don't believe suchmoon had any other motive to "buy" the account, as it obviously has no monetary value to him.
22780  Other / Meta / Re: sig campaign- what about "1merited post per week" instead of"25 post per week" on: June 17, 2018, 07:15:07 AM
This would be the ideal solution, to somehow force bounty managers to 1) set some rules for quality 2) force enrolled members to post according to the rules.
But nobody can tell how we could force those bounty managers...
Bounty managers don't have an incentive to stop spammers: they pay a fixed amount of made-up Tokens. If ten times more people join, they just all get a smaller part of the pie, but the campaign gets more exposure.
I really dislike Tokens: it's Ethereum's way of taking market share from Bitcoin by spamming social media for their own financial gain.
I'd love to see all campaigns with payment in Tokens banned from the forum. If campaigns are only allowed to pay an actual amount of Bitcoin per post, they'll be forced to start caring about quality.
