2281  Other / Meta / Re: Q: Should Lauda *really* be a moderator of bitcointalk A: no on: March 14, 2016, 08:35:33 PM
Is lauda a girl  Lips sealed ?

I thought all the time that Lauda was a boy  Grin. Nothing against Lauda, only to know.

Why did this become a penis or not discussion?

I only wanted to know, is this a problem ?  Is this thread about Lauda or am I wrong ?

I guess its not, I just dont understand the obsession with this. Its a thread about their position as moderator. Penis or not should not matter for this.

2283  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: RPC Passwort/ Username?! Was ist das? on: March 14, 2016, 08:18:03 PM

Code:
# JSON-RPC options (for controlling a running Bitcoin/bitcoind process)

# server=1 tells Bitcoin-QT to accept JSON-RPC commands.
server=1

# You must set rpcuser and rpcpassword to secure the JSON-RPC api
rpcuser=us0r1
rpcpassword=passw0rd

eintragen. Mehr hier -> https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Running_Bitcoin#Bitcoin.conf_Configuration_File
2284  Economy / Reputation / Re: Live with BOSSES or net NEGATIVE TRUST ! on: March 14, 2016, 07:24:52 PM
Well, it seems that its hard to even survive any further here Sad

Please answer my below queries with the best possible way and manner.

1) When people sell accounts openly then they get negative trust while when they sell in private they dont Smiley ( even the escrow involved doesnt give them red trust or even neutral )

No, it is not common to mark sold accounts in red. In some cases e.g. when they had prior green trust it is done. That is understandable IMHO as the prior trust should not transfer to the new owner. As to "thos sold in private do not get marked". Its hard to mark someone just based on the fact that the password was changed twice. What would you prefer? To let trust transfer to those that did not earn it or to mark all sold accounts?

So are we encouraging people to sell accounts privately which surely is even more appreciation to scam as if sold publicly we at least know that account is sold.

2) Self escrow - when QS did get got bucketed with red but when Tamatocage did then well, nothing

Maybe discuss this in the existing thread? Also discussing several topics in a single thread leads to confusing discussion. You also - as others have already said - have tendency to close thread. If you want to get taken seriously you should keep them open. Some people only visit the forum every few days and might not catch your thread right away.

3) Escrow acts and give trust - Many deals we see where escrow gives trust but oh boy wait, they only give to some and sometimes they dont, please be realistic and dont give to anyone because you were escrow and people trusted you and not you trusted them, so why the fuck is trust given ?

Again, do you have examples for this? I tend to give no trust when I escrow, mainly because I did not risk anything. I am the party that is required to act trustworthy in case of an escrow. Those that ask me for help in their deal trust me with coins, accounts, etc. So why should I give out a trust rating? Others might see this differently, but I know e.g. SebastianJu does not give out trust ratings or only rarely in high value deals.

4) NOW COMES PONZI thing - well, why is there a separate section for investor based games , basically to have ponzi users play , then why tag owners red ? Well, you arent allowed to advertise ponzi ?

The forum also allows scams (or does not forbid them), the community does mark scammers reds. These are two separate things.

I am sorry I said that much, I am sure I will get red Sad can hope dont Sad

Not sure where thats coming from...

Yes, you can use it. The format looks wrong though and I think you should show the pictures directly.
2286  Other / Meta / Re: Whitelist my nick? on: March 14, 2016, 02:28:33 PM
I don't see why OP should have to pay $80 to start posting
or create an account using a different onion node.
That is not a solution. The system is not intended for people to pay that much money. It is intended to stop people from registering large amounts of accounts that contribute to spam.

No, it is intended to stop those that already spammed and got banned to create more accounts.

You cannot choose which exit node you use when you use TOR properly. The exit node used is random and changes every 10 minutes in order to ensure anonymity.
-snip-

No one asked to choose a specific exit node, but to use a different one. Which is why there is a "New circuit for this site" button.

Btw, whitelisting happens. I remember that I asked BadBear for a whitelist once and it was granted. I dont know why or under which terms this is done though.

So if you are among the owners, then you are abusing trust system as you gave cryto-games a +trust ( reason there is just because you are moderator )

Lets assume for a second your claims are correct and Lutpins own crypt-games.net. How is this trust abuse?
2288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin-qt not unpacking bootstrap.dat on: March 14, 2016, 02:16:59 PM
Im using Bitcoin-Qt version 0.11.2.
bootstrap.dat is unpacked, sorry if i got you confused there. The problem is bitcoin-qt acts as if it wasn't there.
First of all, after 0.10, the bootstrap.dat will not be faster to sync.

Bitcoin core does recognize the bootstrap but it needs to index all of it so it will appear as if it is syncing from scratch.

Wont be faster to sync from bootstrap.dat? Even if I'm using a Raspberry Pi?

No it wont, the limiting factor for your RasPi is the CPU. Whether it reads the data from disk/sd or internet does not matter. In fact the bootstrap.dat slows you down, because you first download >60GB of data and later verify it, instead of doing both at the same time (regular sync).

What you can do however is sync the blockchain on a different (besides windows if you are using > 0.12 due to the obfuscation) machine and copy the entire data directory to the RasPi.

You can test this with getnettotals. The node should hardly have any network traffic when syncing from bootstrap.dat.
2291  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Account price estimator on: March 14, 2016, 01:33:19 PM
I have a suggestion. Why not create perma-links, so someone trying to sell his account could put a link to his analysis in his signature ?
There are Permalinks, kinda. Under the token there is a link for "Share this estimate" and that will link back to the estimate once it generates. The estimate only stays on the server for a week though so that link will only work for one week. This is so that storing the estimates doesn't crash my server.

That's not what I exactly meant. By "permalink", I meant a token that never expire, so you could put a signature and won't have to replace it every week. A small fee, could be taken, like 0,001BTC to cover the stress on your server. However, I would prefer to have this feature for free.

As a work around I use archive.is to make a copy of the page.
2292  Other / Meta / Re: Q: Should Lauda *really* be a moderator of bitcointalk A: no on: March 14, 2016, 01:31:38 PM
Does anyone else think that Lauda should not be a moderator?

Lauda proceeds with her opinion when moderating the board. Lauda does not follow the rules of the board the same way other moderators do. Lauda is not open to ever being wrong or mistaken. Lauda does not understand what it means to moderate the board. Lauda does not bother to explain reasons behind actions in a friendly way. Lauda likes to be abrasive with people she is moderating. Lauda is power hungry.

I move to have Lauda removed from being a moderator effective immediately.

Do you have examples for these or is it your opinion based on feelings?
2293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For us ordinary people: Is there any reason to use mult-sig (3xxx...) wallets? on: March 14, 2016, 01:10:32 PM
If there is only single user then I don't see the need for using them but some people do it because it adds another layer of protection, like with Copay, you can have yourself as a co-signee on your phone. If you need one, you can use electrum.

Yes, you can essentially make your wallet 2fa without risk that the service provider can run with your coins.

the 1st set of keys is with your hot wallet
the 2nd set of keys is with the service (e.g. copay)
the 3rd set of keys is in your (offline) secure backup

Any 2 can sign. So if your hot wallet is compromised, the attacker would also need your phone (for one key from the 2nd set) or your secure backup (for one key from the 3rd set). If the service is no longer availalbe you can move the funds yourself with your hot wallet and your secure backup.

2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Balance not showing in Bitcoin core wallet on: March 13, 2016, 04:25:57 PM
Yes, after synchronization completes you will see your correct balance.

The client is downloading and verifying blocks from way back when the network first went up to this day, so until it reaches the block your transaction was in, it can't know about it. If you are in a hurry, you might want to use a light wallet such as Electrum.
Thanks for the quick reply :)I should have used electrum now i am getting a little impatient. Well is there any way i can transfer my balance to some other wallet which its still syncing ?

No, but you can export the private key from the console (Help -> Debug window -> Console). Lets assume your password is 'passw0rd', so you enter:

Code:
walletpassphrase passw0rd 180

which unlocks your wallet for 180 seconds.

With

Code:
dumpprivkey 1M5ToiHG1NRjsSmE8iwWHePUPYyQNymDGH

you expose your private key. Make sure no one else sees it. Dont store it in the cloud, dont send it by mail. If you have to transfer it to a different machine use an USB stick.

Now (I assume you have your new electrum wallet open on the same machine here) switch to electrum and:

#1 Make sure you have a backup of the seed.
#2 Make sure you have a backup of the seed. Yes, I just wrote that, but you wouldnt believe how many bitcoins have already been lost because people have no backup of their seed. Make. a. backup. now.
#3 go to Wallet -> Private keys -> sweep, copy the private key into the box and click sweep.
2298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC/GH/Day to BTC/MH/Day to MH/s? on: March 13, 2016, 04:13:44 PM
if you're doing 1 btcoin per giga, then it is 1/1k of bitcoin per mega, mega is smaller than giga by a factyor of 1/1k(1024 actally)

No 1024 is for mebibyte or gibibyte and specifically used for bytes. The M and G for hashes are SI prefixes and 1/1k is correct.

Is this :              https://electrum.org/#home            the official wbsite where I can safely download Electrum?  Smiley
THX!

Yes, thats the official electrum page. They have signed checksums of all downloads, so you can verify that way.

Thanks! I have used VanityGen Before but being not good with memory , i did not remember about l..
Can we used I instead ? So it would look like l ?

No, 1 is the closest to l in terms of looks.

anything more than 1 day is alot to keep it running just for a address..
Can you make a case sensitive one ? More like 1koe1en3
My GPU is pretty neat.. How do u check my MKeys/s ?
Maybe mine is faster and i will give it a try?

Just run oclvanitygen instead of vanitygen to use your GPU.

Edit : so you mean you get 15Mkeys/s ? :/

Well, yes when I have a few virtual machines running. When I dont I get ~37MKeys/s

Am merely getting 1.15 Mkeys/s and with using
Code:
 -i 1koe1en3
it shows some 14-17 hours
while with just

Would take me a few hours at max, price would be 0.0009 btc.

Code:
 1koe1en3
it shows some 1-3 days!

so can you get me

"1koe1en3" <--- in this specific order ?? Smiley

Well 1koe1en3 would take me a few weeks and Id rather not block the system for that long, but 1Koe1en3 (capital K instead of small one) is one I could do over night. Would cost you 0.0068 btc. You can also ask Timelord2067. IIRC they have 2 GPUs and sometimes offer finding addresses for free. We both use split key generation, so we dont know your private keys. I have a step by step in my thread -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1257817.0

PS - what are you using to get 15 Mkeys/s Huh  Roll Eyes Huh

-snip-
Shorena, what GPU did you use for generating the address and how much Mkey/s did you get for it?
Just curious for it Tongue

A single GTX 970, which gets (unless slowed down by other things) ~37MKeys/s.
