2281  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 11, 2015, 04:02:54 AM

That's what I expected. Probably nothing I can do in software then.

What does that mean exactly?

Does the software of bfgminer work? or is it something specific on my end you can elaborate on?

thanks!
Most likely a problem with your USB hub (insufficient power?), or a defective USB controller or device.

That would be a very strong NEGATIVE Smiley

I have used this exact hub filled up - up until the other day running bfgminer and/or cgminer with the old block erupters and most recently the Bitmain U2 USB miners....So that theory is incorrect...I would say it is a software issue at this point as there seems to be a forum filled with buggy software.

thanks!

That actually looks like a qualified powered hub!

Comms error (werr=1): seems to be a write error.

Have you tried the special cgminer version in the first post ?

What is the V setting on your sticks ?

Yes ive tried the both no luck yet.

Hi,

I'm running BFGMiner version 5.4.0 64bit on win 7 64bit ultimate.

I am trying to run the GekkoScience Compac UBS's in a powered USB hub.  I have 5 of the USB miners.

I'm using an Anker 10 port Powered Hub: http://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Anker-SuperSpeed-Including-Charging/dp/B005NGQWL2  mor from the manufacturer: http://www.ianker.com/product/68ANHUB-B10A

I keep getting this error:

CBM 0: Comms error (werr=1)
CBM 1: Comms error (werr=1)

I had 1 USB miner in the hub and got those errors then it started to go away.

The first one was hashing at stock about 8 GH/s and the second the same

I ran a .bat file  as follows:

bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.antpool.com:3333 -u xxx.x -p x --set compac:clock=0x0b83

I also tried:

bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.antpool.com:3333 -u xxx.x -p x --set compac:clock=150

I am not sure why im getting this error.

I did also try the cgminer version and ran zadig, but that didn't work for me, so i removed the zadig driver.

I just removed the second compac and im still getting the errors.

back on topic, Angry

Sell yor s5's for cheap before thet are worthless.
Like history tends to repeats it self, what is an s3 worth now? or even s1
This will be prices of s5 soon
When bitmain dumps there crappy 4,6 th, just in time shipped s7's on customers.
they will turn op there own farm.....
nobody in there right mind would buy s7 then if diff +10 +20 +15 whatever.

you be sorry if you sold to late, maby I be sorry if I buy to soon thats why I buy in a batch of 5 or 4.
and wait........ and see

The problem you are having is that you are low balling offers for a miner which still is efficient and powerful.

You are speculating on diff rises on non existent miners. Aka the SP50.

And the S7 has been out and running for about a month already.

So your theory is incorrect. And it seems you are a bit snarky about it.

If people offer to sell you their gear for a price you don't want to pay, then don't buy it. Plain and simple.

Trying to intimidate people to sell you their gear at rock bottom prices because that suits you is why you keep experiencing deals that "fall through"

Unless you have a crystal ball and know what the BTC price will be in a few months and what high end miners are Actually availe for purchase besides the S7, then I think you will be waiting longer.

You speak of bitmains "crappy" 4.6TH. miner. I still don't get what you trying to accomplish by saying that.

You are looking to buy 5 x S5's for next to nothing while bashing the same company that makes both miners.

That in effect makes no sense.

Truth is the S5 is an excellent miner, which still makes coin. Depending on electric costs etc.

Good luck with trying to pay nothing for something of value.

Thanks!

2292  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: (WTB) S5 multiple units! need 5! on: October 10, 2015, 06:05:19 PM
Yea, only bulk buyers know the price for the sp50 I would say if I buyer pays for a lot of them you'd be looking at around 20k give or take. But s5's won't be making that much money considering how many s7's are being sold and how many bitmain themselves will be mining with. And the hardcore miners that but a craps ton of the new sp's with spondoolies mining with them as well. If you don't have very efficient miners soon the difficulty will be very high very quick with all this hashrate coming in. So to me it's sad to say unless you dump your life savings into miners now you will have no chance in actually making profit unless you have free electricity..

why would you assume that it would cost 20K?

have you asked? what is the minimum bulk order you are referring to?

misinformation is a terrible thing.

thanks!
Let's see I asked and spoke with them and just 20 is to small of a bulk order and around 20k sounds good lol when your getting 110+ ths

yea they aren't going to sell you 20 of them, say you have 3 million  $ to spend and you might get their attention Smiley

Now with spondoolies SP50 spechifications.....
I would be a happy owner of an S5 paying elecltric bills Grin
HAHAHA

only fututure will tell when 1 btc > S5

how much did you get a quote for the SP50?

Curious? you seem pretty sure of all of the above?

its ok to look for a good deal on here for miners even if they are still very current, but you seem to think that once the SP50 and loads of S7's are in peoples hands, you will buy S5's for nothing?

good luck with that, they still make decent coin, especially if you have low power.

How much was the SP50 again?

thats what i thought?

pleas tell me if im wrong and you have an actual quote on the price.

thanks!
2295  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: Antminer S5s, Avalonn 4.1s, SP20 and HEX4M on: September 06, 2015, 05:49:44 AM
Priced to sell!  I hope you aren't exiting the mining game completely.

well he could go from ~6.5-7th @ 3500-4000 watts to 4.8-5ths @ 1200-1400 watts buy buying an s7..... and be much much more efficient, simple and condensed.

I think it is safe to say this sale is not designed for an upgrade to a more efficient setup for ManeBjorn, It is probably as he says, to simply pay bills Smiley
2296  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: Antminer S5s, Avalonn 4.1s, SP20 and HEX4M on: September 06, 2015, 01:20:00 AM
ManeBjorn is a stand up guy, major contributor to the scene and is a reputable member of the community.

There would be no concerns for anything if considering purchasing any miners from him.

thanks!
