2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: All the whales are in ETC now on: August 01, 2016, 11:12:37 PM
The largest whale in the ETC criminals coin is the original DAO attacker with over 10% total ETC supply. Expect they will cash out soon enough after all the sheeple have filled their bags.
Im sorry that you are still bagholding ETH buy OP is right. ETC is being the hedge to be at while BTC goes throughout this downtrend. Everyone should be getting on ETC as it depredates all of ETH's bailoutcoin.
2282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BITS][Bitstar] Submission stage for burn/buy now closed on: July 30, 2016, 06:02:04 PM
Hi, I have found my wallet that I had since 2 years ago, a wallet.dat file, I would like to download the client and sync it to stake some coins but im too paranoid to downloaded to .exe from mediafire website.

How do I compile the source code in windows?
2283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC price speculation on: July 30, 2016, 02:38:12 PM
I don't expect any action going on in ETC for the rest of the weekend. The whales will keep buying low and the real action will begin next week, so time to stock up on ETC. This might be a rare opportunity to get in early on a coin that will pump hard twice.
2284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum Classic should be renamed to Ethereum Core on: July 30, 2016, 02:12:24 PM
Ethereum Classic holds the moral values of Bitcoin Core: No bailouts and an immutable blockchain.
"Classic" sounds too much like "Bitcoin Classic". And Bitcoin Classic wants to hard fork and put a team of idiots in charge. Everyone knowledgeable in crypto is aware of the fact that Bitcoin Classic is a scam and the real hard work is being done by Core devs. So the word "Classic" has a non-serious tone to it.

I wish good luck to ETC, but they should rename it to Core. I guess it's too late to change names now tho.. so im just saying.
It's unfortunate that the "ethereum" reddit is in hands of Vitalik Bernanke the central banker that goes bailout when the smart contracts don't please him. I hope ETC wins and they take over the scam that ETH has ended up being.
2285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth Classic opened the way for Bitcoin Classic fork on: July 30, 2016, 02:07:50 PM
ethereum has proved the exact opposite.
it has proven that there is nothing good coming out of a hard fork, especially if you do a hard fork without consensus.
we can clearly see what that is doing to etherum with two chains available and no chain seems to be going down.

the only interesting thing in all this is the fact that almost all exchanges seem to be in a hurry to add them to their list of coins to enjoy the fees they take!!

Some guys obviously bagholding ETH now want to mix this with Bitcoin Classic which is absolute crap, with ETC which is actually legit and should be chain that survives if there are any morals left in Ethereum after all this mess.

You big blockers will never learn. It seems not even this Ethereum mess is enough of a lesson to understand hard forks are a high risk.
2286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: July 30, 2016, 02:02:40 PM
It can really easy go to 800$ but i i am sure that it will go more than 1000$ this year maybe 1200$ lso i think that it wil be 1000-1200$.
Being realistic, I don't see $1k this year. I guess $800 would be already a great achievement. But let's first see how low we go, once a post-halving correction starts.

Remember that all those "realists" were claiming that 600 this year was simply nuts and impossible, and we got there and beyond reaching a 728 price in some exchanges.

So "realism" in BTC is not what it seems. We can easily hit 1k this year, there is still a long time to go before summer ends and then we have a couple more months.
2287  Economy / Speculation / Re: 666 barrier on: July 30, 2016, 01:50:40 PM
There's something going on right now in crypto. The insane volume in ETC, the stable price in BTC.. I think ETC is going to pump hard as well and we are going to see a battle for the ETH blockchain soon. ETC holders may get rich if they have the balls to risk a hold longer than expected.
2288  Economy / Economics / Re: How can i make earnings from my site without google adsense ? on: July 30, 2016, 01:46:59 PM
I think there is nothing better than adsense. Their CPM rates are the highest you can realistically aim for... the bad part is the very strict TOS and sometimes confusing rules. The good part of other alternative programs is you can do stuff that is very easy to get traffic from (porn) but you are going to need a lot of it to make decent money from ad revenue.
2289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doubling Bitcoin? on: July 30, 2016, 12:48:18 PM
For the guys with balls of steel... putting your Bitcoins in ETC and waiting for a price double is looking like a really solid option. The volume is really good and the price is very stable. We can either go up or down and it will not be subtle, it will be a nice pump (or dump).
2290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Banks are researching the usage of private Block Chains, and not Ethereum's on: July 30, 2016, 12:46:33 PM
Private blockchains are useless and sooner or later they will have to accept the fact that the real blockchain is the Bitcoin blockchain and the rest of blockchains are bullshit. If anything, only bitcoin's sidechains would have any relevancy.
2291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mixer - How to Secure your Identity ! on: July 30, 2016, 12:39:54 PM
I think people only use mixers if
    1. They're paranoid
    2. They've committed a crime and don't want any link to the stolen coins.

Bitcoin wasn't designed to be anonymous, just like what the others here on this thread are saying.

You are wrong. In the whitepaper of bitcoin it can be clearly read "bitcoin is electronic cash system". Cash means anonymity. So in any case, bitcoin needs to become way more anonymous to stay true to the definition of what cash is, we must push for an agenda that is pro-anonymity to strengthen bitcoin. Once governments start tracking everything you will wish that bitcoin is more anonymous.
2292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpeles: Did You Guys Even Work Out That Block Size Thing? on: July 30, 2016, 12:36:43 PM
He has bitcoin saved im sure, and he pays attention to it all the time. He is just trolling and playing a dumb role so authorities don't think he is smart and capable of deception.
2293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is still being drained from the DAO!! "Hackers" are back. on: July 29, 2016, 11:44:24 PM
http://reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4v0v9k/someone_just_split_from_the_dao_and_drained_it/

Damn, this is looking really bad. Even after the hardfork, the "hackers" continue draining money from the DAO. So the question is... time to hard fork again? How much money does it need to be drained for another hard fork to happen?

See? The whole situation is ridiculous. ETC is actually the coin that makes senses. They took the loss and dealt with it. They know that if a smart contract is wrongly coded, it's not a hack, it's just a mistake by the smart contract coder. Smart contract still applies so rollback is a scam.

If Ethereum survives this mess, it should ETC the one that lives on for keeping it real.

If it's true ETH and ETC should go down to zero.

They just need to make a revision of everything/correct all bugs and restart from scratch =)

No, ETC should survive. They took the loss the right way, by letting the DAO fall. Just like if the economic system had any morals, banksters would fall.
In experiments, things are supposed to blow up. ETC accepted defeat with the DAO and moved on. ETH is immature and didn't learn to lose yet.
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic on: July 29, 2016, 11:31:54 PM
Is classic the better coin to currently make a smart contract with?

If immutability is a desired attribute, ETC is the only choice.

If you want to make a too-big-to-fail contract which is (given sufficient Proof-of-Vitalik) eligible for troubled asset relief, go with the Bailout Edition.

Indeed. The whole point of smart contracts is that the code will do as it's programmed. And that is exactly what happened with the "DAO hack", the code did as it was coded. Everything else is not a smart contract. They broke the concept of smart contract by going bailout over it. If a smart contract contains code that didn't do what you expected, it's your fault for using that smart contract/the coder's fault for coding it that way. Hard forking over this absolutely defeats the point.
2295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The DAO FAIL on: July 29, 2016, 11:05:32 PM
the dream of ethereum is dead in any case.

Perhaps for you.

It's yet to be seen, personally I think ETC should win because they are sticking to the good morals of not breaking the chain because of smart contracts going against holder's money.. that is bankster mentality. Let banks fail, let smart contracts fail.
2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC is Ethereum Core; 'ETH' is just a hardfork testnet for the real blockchain. on: July 29, 2016, 09:41:04 PM
They should really rename it to Core instead of Classic. For anyone knowledgeable in crypto, Classic has a non-serious tone to it due the Bitcoin Classic mess, and you don't want to make people feel like Ethereum Classic is like Bitcoin Classic, when Ethereum Classic has the Bitcoin Core approach of no hard forks over money being lost, in other words, the no-bullshit approach.
2297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be surpassed by Ethereum??? on: July 29, 2016, 09:30:48 PM
I think that the ETC coin scam. Today's announcement exchange BTC-E, to a weighty argument.

Well, if there's a scam, then it is BTC-E that is scamming their cheering customers in the name of fairness :-)

Because, whatever you think of ETC, it is about a 1/8 market share of the former ETH.  It is like company XYZ is now split in company XY (ETH) and in company Z (ETC).  Even if you think that company Z is a total failure, former XYZ shareholders are entitled to their share in Z which has market value.  If a broker was holding your former XYZ shares, and he only gives you XY shares after, then he's putting the Z part in his pocket (whether you think that Z will fail or not, RIGHT NOW it has market value), and he's scamming you as a former XYZ holder.

That's more or less what BTC-E is doing with their customers, in the name of "not scamming them".

Wrong. BTC-e just like the rest of exchanges that are adding ETC, are understanding that there is a real community behind ETC with solid volume, coders and so on, so denying them the freedom of exchanging the token is simply insulting.

2299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Brian Armstrong from Coinbase admit he was wrong? on: July 29, 2016, 09:14:45 PM
first of all.. bitcoin is nothing like ether and ether is nothing like bitcoin.

so lets put things into prospective.
for Ether.. eventually one chain will die out. currently they lack infrastructure and uses to make the choice less than obvious.

however for bitcoin..
if the miners have a majority hash power.. exchanges would follow.. and.. symbiotically
if the main exchanges choose one bitcoin chain. then all the miners will follow that chain as its their way of "cashing out" their rewards.

secondly the merchants would follow the user nodes. after all if people are rejecting transactions where deposits and withdrawals are being done, its not beneficial to merchants to be on a chain causing issues

so bitcoins decision will happen far sooner.

the starting point is consensus. if there was a 50-50 consensus.. well miners wont even bother making a fork.. not really even at 75% but that 75% would be a kick up the ass to atleast say what general direction things will take and what the majority is possibly going with..

once a fork happens at over 90% its only then that the 10% laggers realise they are left with a useless chain that doesnt solve blocks promptly, causing major confirmation delays. also the amount of unconfirmed txs pile up in mempool causing a massive tx fee war to be first in line of the massive back log. causing that useless laggy weak chain to be expensive. and lastly that useless laggy weak expensive chain to be not accepted by merchants so people realise even paying a large fee and waiting hours for 1 confirm.. the merchants wont see it because the merchants are on the majority chain instead..
thus the minority chain dies quite quick..

again ether does not have the hashpower, userbase, usability or infrastructure to push the decision very rapidly.. but with bitcoin you would see a minority chain die quite quickly

Everything sounds great in theory, too bad in practice the fuck up can be monumental. Brian Armstrong is a demonstration of this. "Hey just let's just hard fork, 2 coins will never co-exist!".
Now look at Poloniex, ETC is the coin with the most volume, already surpassing ETH.

Oh and forget about Armstrong ever admitting his mistake, too much ego. But thanks to this Ethereum mess Bitcoin becomes even stronger.

I hope that in 10 years we re all rich as fuck even with smaller amounts like 10 BTC, that would be great and I would definitely show up with a cool car to make the haters mad. I hate the feel of being seen as some sort of weirdo that is into this strange bitcoin think and at the same time love the feel of being a visionary.
