22821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Emails From BlockChain , I think It's A Trap/Scam ! + Need Help please on: January 23, 2015, 03:47:44 PM
do what i did:
add a filter of blockchain.info 's real email address which sends you Emails to your Email, so that every email from them would go inside a specific folder.
this way the real ones will be in that folder and every other scam and stuff will be inside your Inbox.
to double check always check the address in the address bar and the "Blockchain luxemburg" thingy beside the address

22823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin cold storage - HACKED easily on: January 23, 2015, 03:32:37 PM
what you it seems that you do not understand or you do not want to say is that :

"Even if the manufacturer (https://bitcoin.org/) claims that it runs open-source code, how do you tell whether it is actually running what you compiled?" Verbücheln said.

in other words: MANY developers worldwide are working in their free time to a project, in this case, Bitcoin. That's why it's called OPEN SOURCE.

These developers can put anything they want INTO  the source code: ".... that some pieces of open-source code are so large and complex that even a dedicated community of developers may not detect a malicious addition."

So, COLD Storage can be easily hacked. Smiley
this is true but at the same time it means that it will become apparent to the community since a lot of people are checking

Buy some now!  Bitcoin is 50% off.  Sale ends soon.  What a great deal.  After you double your money, you can buy your wife a nice gift.
wait what?  50% off?
Yep - it is worth at least $440 today but you can get some on just about any exchange at $220!  Half off.  Great price man.  Run.

22826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyday Bitcoin transactions. Show others who accepts BTC in your areas on: January 23, 2015, 02:53:29 PM
1 Pepsi 2 BTC? Shocked

I guess it's priced in dollars. There's no bitcoin amount shown in the ticket.

It's written
Bitcoin:   (59.55) that's for sure in USD for those cheap things . I guess they should add the price in Bitcoins instead of USD .
with price changing every minute and everyday you have to setup the register every minute!

22829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone interested in a NEW Dogecoin Faucet? on: January 21, 2015, 04:05:57 PM
Hello!

I am currently planning on opening a NEW Dogecoin faucet but I'm not sure how much interest is there in the community. If I receive enough interest I will launch it within the next 2 weeks!

If you are interested reply with "I'm interested!"

Anyway some features that I'm looking into include 100% referral earnings, guaranteed rewards every 1-5minutes and SSL.
i personally am always interested in Dogecoin or any Dogecoin related revenue.
looking forward to it.
also dont forget to annound on reddit.com/r/dogecoin/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_system

Quote
the prefix milli is to indicate a one-thousandth part of the unit
Must be a Murican
i was always wondering why people ask this question about mili, micro,...
now i know

{green}Countries which have officially adopted the metric system
{grey}Countries which have not officially adopted the metric system (US, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and Liberia)
22833  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I Missing Something, Why Make Receiving Bitcoins Difficult? on: January 20, 2015, 06:22:27 PM
https://bitcoinarmory.com/ Armory is another great secure Bitcoin wallet which will take you through all the steps of the process for a secure wallet
it might be easy but not NEWBIE friendly. since you have to download 25GB of Data. in other words a new user needs to wait a couple of hours at best to synch to be able to see what is what. and that is exactly an example of what OP means
Quote
... complicated ways of receiving bitcoin that would probably turn others off like the noobs or masse

i personally prefer Blockchain.info
22834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: invest in a coin under 100 sat on: January 20, 2015, 03:54:49 PM
Dogecoin is the best coin under 100 sat. now, and is a good idea invest on it because some day was at 200 sat.
Doge is a joke,
it was started as a joke.

it will die.
many many coins will die soon before Doge will die, either newer or older than Doge
22835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: invest in a coin under 100 sat on: January 20, 2015, 03:52:27 PM
Doge is good and fun and specially have a nice community, but don't expect it to get HUGE profit out of it it will hover between 58-70
recently i am interested in MYR since it has a good price and there is a block halving coming up
22836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyway to learn whilst you earn? on: January 19, 2015, 04:10:53 PM
Is there anyway I could maybe learn about Bitcoin and earn? or any joob which I could learn and earn Bitcoin from it? I want to take advantage of the currrent low price of bitcoin but am not skilled enough to offer any services at the moment.
You could give coin learn a shot http://www.coinlearn.org/

It pretty much like a faucet that give you bitcoin for reading how it works and what not
sneaky way to promote the website Cheesy
anyway, what happened to the payments, it was every week but got stuck in last year!
22837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain and Multibit on: January 19, 2015, 04:08:07 PM
Multibit.

Computer wallets are always better than online wallets

depends on how good someone's opsec is, but in general computer wallets are more secure and offer more control.

If I need some help setting up electrum would someone be willing to offer their help?
you need more help than what is provided at the official website here: https://electrum.org/tutorials.html

if you need any help ask in this section, or in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0
22838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucet asks BTC signature on: January 19, 2015, 04:05:03 PM
Why faucet want signature? I think that are not necessery for faucet

To sing addy is necessary for pass recover ... you have to prove you are owner of address (and no just somebody who knows your address)

i think that will not be a problem for me if someone using my btc address for receiving payments Cheesy
exactly what i was thinking! why would someone use another person's address for a faucet. and also for recovery a simple Email address would suffice.
22839  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Let Me Bet For You on: January 19, 2015, 03:54:17 PM
use an escrow so that people may trust a newbie account with their money!
22840  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best bitcoin dice strategies!! on: January 19, 2015, 03:41:41 PM
Of course, none of the gamblers in fact possessed infinite wealth, and the exponential growth of the bets would eventually bankrupt "unlucky" gamblers who chose to use the martingale.
