22881  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: getting btc out of old btce address on: December 12, 2014, 01:19:47 PM
I have had a deposit into my old btce.com btc address which they changed everyones address in july and gave them new ones .Does anyone know how I can retrieve the btc from that old address into my new address as btce say they cant transfer the btc. Thanks any advice or help welcomed.
BTC-e customer service is the worst. i've heard a lot of complains about their lack of respond or delays.

use their support desk (link is at the bottom of the page) and contact the site and hope they can do something for you. but they might need some info like your secret recover phrase

22884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Wallet For Receiving Bitcoins and Online Transfers? on: December 12, 2014, 01:09:29 PM
i suggest you start with coinbase if you are in US otherwise use Blockchain.info
and if you can't make up your mind yet and do not have enough trust, just start with what i said BUT invest low and try out their services and read people's posts that are complaining and figure out for yourself if it is safe or not.
like the security issues that most ppl are talking about in BCI search and find out what they really are and don't listen to random comments on whether it is safe or not
22885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is worth mining still? on: December 12, 2014, 01:01:38 PM
as far as i found out you should forget about solo mining. also there are a crap loads of cloud mining sites out there which is hard to trust them. the famous ones have high maintenance fee so it is not worth it at the end!
22886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ok, lets atalk again, about recovering a wallet with my btc in it. on: December 12, 2014, 12:59:05 PM
if you don't wanna reveal the name of the site, at least tell us WHY did you send bitcoin to the site? or in other words what kind of site was it?
22887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is anybody here using CEX.IO for mining on: December 12, 2014, 12:53:15 PM
i tried mining at CEX.IO recently. i bout GHS when the price went down but the maintanace fee was more than what i would earn from it so i sold it at higher price for GHS which at least i got some profit out of it
22888  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: questions about Electrum servers on: December 08, 2014, 01:31:21 PM
i have a couple of Questions about Electrum servers: Huh

1. who creates and maintains these servers?

Volunteers. You can find out about them on the console tab of the electrum window.

Quote
2. why? i mean where do they get the money to do this, since Electrum is free.

Mostly they pay for it themselves. They take donations too but it doesn't amount to much: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=573951.0

Quote
3. what kind of information do i send to these servers when i connect to them?

You send all the addresses in your wallet. They then reply with the transactions involving those addresses.

Quote
4. is there any difference between the servers?

Yeah, there are limits of how many addresses you can lookup or something. That is why you have those numbers next to the server names in the server selection window.

Quote
5. is it the same as other light wallet clients like Multibit?

No, multibit doesn't rely on centralized servers. It uses bloom filters which are a clever way of asking for transactions from lots of full bitcoin nodes and building up a picture from that.
thanks for the complete respond.

22891  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit will not start on: December 07, 2014, 07:34:28 AM
I am fairly new to Bitcoin and Multibit. Lately I am having trouble getting Multibit to open on my desktop. I have not had to use my wallet since October, but when I tried to day Multibit will not start from the .exe. I have stopped all malware and anti-virus to see if it would help. I have tried to reinstall the program but it will not start also. There are no error messages or codes that come up.

Any idea of what I can do?
open your task manager and see if it is running. go to processes tab and check for the program. also it might take some time to open the program so give it some time. if it didn't work try reinstalling AFTER backing up your wallet

In your opinion, whats the best thing about gambling?

Mine is that there's a opportunity to get rich Cheesy

www.dreamlandcasino.com
it is a nice dream!
but the best thing about gambling "for me" is the thrill i get. when i bet and win big amounts it is soooo good. but at the same time i lose a lot but all in all i only do it for the fun and try not to be an addict Cheesy
22894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing bitcoins illegal? on: December 07, 2014, 07:20:48 AM
For example, if I mislead someone into sending me a large amount of bitcoins (in the United States) would that be illegal?

If I did not force them to do anything, but they sent them anticipating me to send a product in return, but I never send it.

Would this be considered illegal considering no one would know whether the bitcoin address that received the bitcoins was my address?

well it looks like a crime but it needs to be proven and stuck to the person, and it is hard since bitcoin address is hard to be related to the person
22895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Dogecoin has that other coins don't on: December 07, 2014, 07:13:18 AM
One of the arguments I have heard against Dogecoin is that it does not have proper developers. But it is the coin which attracted the most attention apart from Bitcoin. In an opensource world, anyone can become a DOGE developer. The bigger the community, the higher the chance for good developers.

Dogecoin is a community coin and it has the largest community of all. In my opinion, it is highly undervalued now.

If DOGE was BTC, it would now cost 0.07$ each instead of $0.0002 (350x more)
If DOGE was LTC, it would cost 0.02$ each (100x more)
i agree that it attracted the most attention amongst other coins, and it is mostly because of its community. but i don't think it is undervalued like you say. and i think it is because of the large amount of Doge available and also the large amount of Doge being mined and sold every day. this way it is never gonna rise in price

22898  Economy / Gambling / Re: Method to win small sums on two online bitcoin casinos on: December 06, 2014, 05:48:20 PM
After wasting a small fortune of bitcoins and altcoins on several online casinos I figured out a way of winning at two of them. We are not talking about large sums or whatever but say I enter with 5000 doge almost always after two hours I double that and leave with 10000. There is no way to earn a living but it feels nice to earn at least my day's cup of coffee and bus tickets. That's all. If anyone is interested, email me at babyruth@mail.com .
can you explain a bit. do you use an specific gambling site for this method or it works on any site. is it a bug in the system or...

22900  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange do you use and why ? on: December 06, 2014, 05:24:35 PM
i wanted to use bter.com for something that i needed, and found out that the fees in this site is ridiculously high.
just wanted to share this with everyone that before choosing an exchanger after checking its eligibility and other security stuff check the fees whether its trading fee (normally 0.2%) or its withdrawal fees.
