Trabzonspor could have lost points today. Because I think they played worse than Başakşehir. Even the goal Trabzonspor scored was due to Volkan Babacan's huge mistake as he couldn't control the ball after the shot. Başakşehir found so many goal opportunities to equalize the score but they were unlucky. There was one time their shot hit the post as well.
Maybe Trabzonspor got the 1-0 win but they really need to make improvement in their effort. Otherwise I think they will maintain a form like this until the end of the season.

Things are going worse for Liverpool day by day. They lost to Brighton by 3-0 today and their performance was just horrible. Of course there are some injured players now. There are players like Firmino and Diaz also among them. But even when at least one of them wasn't injured the team were still not performing at a very satisfying level. The World Cup break didn't help Liverpool even a bit as it seems. Klopp seems like he doesn't have much option in his hands these days.
They haven't made a midfielder transfer which is another problem. It is difficult for them to bring a top midfielder in the middle of the season though. In addition to all of these, van Dijk is also injured now. The situation has become a nightmare for Liverpool and I don't know how much they will be able to motivate themselves for the Champions League while there is only a month left. Let's see if they will surprise us here.
I agree on it. As I also said before Liverpool's future is really ambiguous. They have a very inconsistent effort in the English Premier League. The injuries are just making things even more difficult for them indeed. Liverpool are seven points away from top 4 already now and this might push them to focus on the Champions League more maybe. Because if they can't catch up with top 4 then the Champions League title is going to be their only option to join the tournament again. However this bad form would affect their Champions League effort as well I assume.

And here we are. This list has already proven that it cares about the success of the teams of the players as well. Otherwise there is no way XANTARES not being in this list. He would have been even at top to be honest. I still remember the 1v1 duel between XANTARES and s1mple a couple of years ago. XANTARES was very impressive and showed how amazing he was as for individual performances.
He is just unlucky about playing for Eternal Fire. Normally he could have left the team a long time but I don't know why he hasn't done it. He can find a top team for himself easily I assume.

Lens had a pretty interesting match against Auxerre to be honest. I would have expected a much more comfortable win by a big score difference. But instead they didn't even have goal attempts that were close to the number of chances they had in the first half after Auxerre got that red card. Lens should be more productive in such easy matches to prove themselves worthy for a title race.
For now it still feels like Marseille can get past them soon and finish the season ahead of them as well. It depends on how effective Marseille will use their squad quality.

Chelsea are fully behind manager Graham Potter and are planning a mass clear-out of players if results do not improve. When clubs are in crisis and not achieving good results, club managements usually replace coaches, so this is somewhat surprising news. Will this approach pay off for Chelsea?
They had better do so. Because they can't achieve anything by changing their manager very often. Yeah things are going on really bad for the team these days. But there is nothing to do other than being patient and giving Potter some time to start a good form with the team. This season is already wasted for Chelsea that's for sure. They will just focus on finishing at the best position they can. They need to make their plans seriously considering next season. Because the expectations from Chelsea will be bigger then. Because Potter will have got accustomed to the team very well until then. He should be able to have a good season with Chelsea as of then just as he did it with Brighton before.

Emery is doing his best to help Aston Villa recover and climb the positions. His history with Aston Villa so far is not bad actually - 3W, 1D, 1L. They had a really nice win against a team like Manchester United as well.
Tonight they are playing against Leeds in a match home. Leeds can be considered as a tough opponent for them when we take the places of these teams into account. Leeds are out-of-form for four weeks though. They haven't got a win in the meantime. I'm pretty sure they will do their best to win this match by benefiting from their capability at scoring. But I still believe in Aston Villa to beat them here.

Even though there are many smaller teams in the Europa League the champions have still been big teams for many years. Still teams like Villarreal and Frankfurt won the title in a row in the recent two years though. This might have made people give more chance to such teams from now on. But this season looks different to me.
There are so many powerful teams that have come from the Champions League as well. It feels like this time the title winner will be one of those big teams. It is bad to see Barcelona or Manchester United saying goodbye already though but hopefully we will enjoy this matchup anyway.

We are nearing the end in HLTV's list of top 20 players. The 7th name was M0nesy, the 6th name was Broky, and the 5th name was Niko. Only 4 names left. 4. name, to be announced on January 13, 22:00. The Player of the Year will be announced on January 14 as part of the HLTV Awards Show. Can anyone guess who is in 4th place? S1mple is definitely among the top three names and I think it can even take the title of the first best player again, but this year it seems a little difficult because Navi has gone down a bit. It looks like m0nesy is the victim of his team's being unsuccessful for a long time. Otherwise he has made a huge effort in many tournaments so far. I think he is undoubtedly the best player of his team although there are great names like NiKo. This is like a proof that this list is made considering team successes as well. I don't know if this is fair though. Because they are saying that this is a list of top 20 players but they take their teams into account as well. Some players deserve higher ranks because of this.

I have been making live bets on the matches by following NBA for a while. However I wouldn't have imagined an odd like this. Congratulations really. I haven't seen a combined betslip with this much high odd on any platform for a long time.

Lorient vs Monaco was quite competitive just as I expected. I was seeing Monaco one step ahead anyway to get a win here.
Actually they could have made it but they wasted many opportunities. There were a couple of shots coming back from the goal post for example. I must admit that Lorient were really impressive in this match. They made a comeback after being 1-0 behind and got 2-1 ahead. They were nearly winning if it weren't for the goal came in the stoppage time. Ben Yedder really saved the team but I don't think they are satisfied with this score at all. Because the gap with the Champions League are has got bigger now.

I don't know how much good this transfer will be for Beşiktaş. After sending Weghorst from the team they are expected to sign Aboubakar to fill his place. Aboubakar has a really good history with Beşiktaş actually. He joined them two times in the past and both of them were productive time periods. Weghorst and Aboubakar are both 30 years old now by the way.
If Aboubakar hasn't still lost his magic I'm pretty confident that he would adapt to the league easily again and start performing like in the old days. But I still feel like Weghorst is better than him now.

I wonder how successful run Roma will have in the Europa League. As you know they are the newest Conference League champions. They might want to do this again this time in the Europa League. But this tournament is much more difficult than that. Especially in this year and in this stage there are really challenging teams. It is like the quality of the tournament is a little closer to the Champions League.
I think Roma will eliminate Salzburg but it is hard to tell anything about next stages. One of the favourites is going to be eliminated after Barcelona vs Manchester United matchup ends which is a good thing for Roma of course. They aren't doing very well in the Serie A so they had better do their best for the Europa League title.

According to AS, Aubameyang wants to return to Barcelona now. It must be because of the horrible condition of the team first of all. Besides he hasn't been able to play like he was doing at Barcelona. And now there are new alternatives in the attacking line as well. There are Felix and Fofana as well with the hope of increasing the productivity in scoring goals. Nkunku is another player who is expected to join by this summer. Aubameyang will need to work much harder to earn his place in the starting eleven. But I don't think he can be as productive as his Barcelona performance. I also think that Mercedes know what they are doing with not copying the other biggest teams. They still have great engineers and we all know how successful they have been until this new era in F1. They just weren't well prepared for the previous season and it was quite late when they started to catch up with Ferrari and Red Bull.
However at least we saw some really good signals in the latest races last season. We are likely to see a much stronger Mercedes this time but let's see how competitive they will be for the championship. It'd be lovely to see Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes all fighting for the championship for a long time.

Tottenham have been experiencing some problems. There is a significant drop in their performance level and it reflected on their Premier League matches as well. The Crystal Palace win might be a good morale but they have another tough match against Arsenal this time. Besides their schedule until their Champions League match is very tight and difficult. If they don't finish these matches with positive results in general then it might affect their motivation in the Champions League as well.
Because they haven't been like Liverpool. I mean Tottenham haven't been much different in the EPL and CL in terms of effort.

I don't think Chelsea would be very sad if Felix shows a wonderful performance until the end of his loan contract and goes back to Atletico Madrid later on.
Because Chelsea would just think of increasing the productivity in the attacking line to finish the season properly. Even if they lose Felix in that case then they would be ready to pay a big sum to sign another good attacker. Nkunku is already going to be joining the team by this summer as far as I know. Maybe there wouldn't be any need to sign another striker in that case. I'm curious about David Datro Fofana's effort in the remaining time period of the season as well.
